I loved…read moregoing to aerial classes prior to the pandemic butt many of my favorite spots went out of business. I was so excited I purchased their New Client Special that wasa 5 Pack of classes for $99. It was only valid for a month. I reserved the Aerial Silks class on a Tuesday evening. Per the usual new studio first visits, arrive a little early to sign their waiver. I arrived about 15 minutes early and there was no staff at the front. There was a bunch of unfilled and filled waivers. Red flags leaving their customer's private personal data laying around like that. I filled out a form but kept it with me until I can hand it to staff. It was a mess of girls rushing out from the prior class and girls rushing in for the next class. Total chaos. I put my things away in a cubby and stood around until some authority person came along. I prefer the studios where you get your own silk, but at this studio they will have you share silks with other students. They divided us into a group of beginners, and another side for the intermediate and advanced students. We started off with stretches. They are super elegant and stretched with grace here. Good form. Then when we began, the instructor would give us a few steps at a time to work on, then we would piece multiple steps together. When I asked the instructor if she can help me take photos she was too busy and told me to ask another student. I paid the studio, not random students who are strangers to me. It might have been fun with a friend but I did not enjoy going alone. Especially when there's stranger armpit sweat on the fabric. Not enjoyable at all. I actually walked out before the end of class cause I was so over it. I considered coming back to another class to use the sessions I pay for. However their class times are limited. Maybe only 2-3 classes after work, but some of those classes are advanced classes or classes I don't have an interest in. While deciding on my rating for this place... a 3 didn't seem like a good fit cause a 3 is average. If it was average I would have at least came back to use the classes I paid for. As someone who goes to a fitness studio for work outs 3-4 days a week, I literally just abandoned the package I paid for and went to another studio where I enjoyed my work outs. To each their own. This place provides niche classes not every studio offers. However the classes are limited and I don't enjoy sharing space with strangers.

If people are sweating, you should have water readily available IMO. Aside from these basic necessities, the studio is gorgeous. The poles are tall and all the ones I've tried have decent spin and seem fairly new. There's instructors here seems kind and I like that there are advanced beginner classes so you can level up from beginner before intermediate/advanced. I only wish they were a little less expensive but I like that they offer deals for new students. Hope to keep coming back here to continue my pole journey.

I'm beyond impressed by his ability to teach while seemingly-effortlessly demonstrating the moves himself. I struggle with dance technique (and basic coordination---eek), and feel like I'm slowly improving while consistently enjoying a killer workout. Matt's classes are such a warm, welcoming way to start (or end!) the day. Grateful for him, and for the communal safe space that he has built.

She was extremely welcoming and greeted me right away, which was so sweet! She's adorable! Love her energy. Her playlist is awesome and incredibly fun. Easy to follow and high energy. Love how she incorporates fitness elements to her choreo. It's cardio, so come ready to sweat and get that heart rate up. I'll definitely be back to her Saturday morning class and look forward to trying some other classes! They sound/look so fun! They're at new address: 2075 Newport Blvd, Suite 101, Costa Mesa! All instructors carry the same mindset of wanting to see you succeed at your speed & encourage you along the way as your progress! I love the music, feels like my playlist is on shuffle. As I've been coming to classes and beginning to implement more body movements on the pole and floor, I definitely am breaking a sweat which has been great incorporating into my workout routines!

I found Pilates but hopped from studio to studio never really landing anywhere and feeling like I was still missing something. I took my first class with Vy and was blown away by her instruction and knowledge. After following her around multiple studios, I was elated when she opened BFLP. She's an outstanding Pilates instructor who has made a huge impact on my fitness journey. Vy has an exceptional ability to explain complex movements in a way that's easy to understand and execute, which has been key in helping me refine my technique and grow my knowledge in basic body anatomy. Additionally, she takes the time to get to know my goals and challenges, and she tailors her classes to meet those needs with exceptional skill. The students that I have had the pleasure of getting to know are genuinely kind - not nice; just kind. There is one mirror in the whole studio which, personally, allows me to focus on how my body is feeling during class instead of how I look or how everyone else is looking. There's also a sense of realness of the community when you enter that's not focused around selfies. Vy has taught me the value of taking breaks, listening to my body, and that our mental and emotional health can impact physical states. Every instructor is great and they are a well rounded studio. Every year they put on a recital and they have a photoshoot leading up to the recital. They bring in a professional photographer and they have the kids try on their costumes and shoot in them as well as running through show makeup and hair so that they are prepared on the day of the recital and what to do. They do this to work out any kinks with the outfits in time for the recital. The amount of thought and detail is crazy. They really do care about all of their students and make their best efforts to show the parents where their investment is going. 10/10 recommend!
