I had Dr Pettit with my first pregnancy and am now trusting her to deliver my second this January…read more She is kind, thorough, efficient, laid back, and knowledgeable. I appreciate that she saves time for me to ask questions, allayed my fears, supported every choice I made (choosing not to do genetic testing, not taking many/any classes, wanting an epidural). She called me out when I was gaining weight a little to fast -- just told me to be careful. I'm SO GLAD she didn't tiptoe around it, drew it to my attention, then praised me in the following weeks that the weight gain had tapered. As a first time mom who is pretty laid back, I needed guidance but not chiding which is exactly what Dr Pettit provided. I had one experience with contractions that came on that I thought were the real deal (they weren't) that led me to call the after hours line to talk to a Dr. The Dr on call (not Dr Pettit) was super kind, helpful and walked me through a few questions to help me decide whether or not to go in to the hospital (I didn't end up going). Even though it was 3AM, this person wasn't my dr, she still treated me with respect and helped me. My delivery was pretty uneventful until my son was actually born -- he wasn't breathing at all. Dr Pettit could see that I was visibly distressed and talked me through what was happening while she was stitching me up. She assured me that this was pretty normal, that they were doing everything they could and that I should trust the process. She was so right. And I'm glad that she saw my fear and talked me through it. The new offices on 6565 France are BEAUTIFUL. The reception area is welcoming, plenty of places to sit. There's a small play area in case you have an older child with you. It's not the end all be all, but it's very nice that Associates in Women's Health is a technologically advanced office. You get blood results quickly. I knew the day I took my 1 hr glucose test before I even left the office that I failed and needed to come back for the 3hr. If you're hunting for a practice to call home- try Associates in Women's Health. I've had nothing but great experiences in my 2 years seeing them.

I switched to AWH after having a terrible experience with a miscarriage at another clinic. I…read moreexperienced a second miscarriage while at AWH and Allie Rodriguez, PA, was wonderful, caring, and provided good patient education. I saw Allie again for an annual check up and during my next pregnancy, and she is my favorite part about this clinic and I would recommend her services and care - I wish she could have been my OB. Other service providers at the clinic have been okay or disappointing. The front desk tends to be awkward. Only Tiffany tends to make eye contact and acknowledge your presence upon arriving - the others will not acknowledge you, so you can't tell if they are so engrossed in their work that they haven't seen you or if they are intentionally ignoring you. If you walk up to them or speak you get the "we'll be with you in a moment" - cool, just say that next time so I'm not wondering. Going to the doctor is a stressful experience for many and this cold welcome doesn't help. I was very anxious during my pregnancy because of my two previous miscarriages. The ultrasound techs were always wonderful and would tell you what they saw and what they were doing. The OBs themselves are kind of all over the place. You can't choose which provider will deliver your baby, so I opted not to see a single provider and instead meet all of them at least once so that I'd have a touch of familiarity on delivery day. I got okay to good impressions of all of the doctors during those visits except for Dr. Goodman who sped through "fat facts" - the things I was likely to experience or be at risk for being overweight and pregnant. While I do expect individualized medical care, what disappointed me was that she started out by apologizing for telling me these things (no one is more aware that I am fat than I am - have been my whole life, don't need an apology for sharing information if you believe it's important for me to have informed care). She then sped through the information, which included induction at 39 weeks, and I was so shocked that I opted to end the appointment rather than ask questions. I was still early in the pregnancy and just hoped to make it past the first trimester. There wasn't much notable about the other docs - they'd answer my questions and were not likely to offer up much info otherwise. The clinic was nice about me coming in between appointments to listen to the heartbeat to lessen my anxiety. The final straw was delivery day when Dr. Pettit swept my membranes without informed consent. I'm not saying I wouldn't have taken her expert medical advice, but you should tell me what you're doing to my body before you do it. After my final postpartum check up, I'm done with AWH.

This place is an absolute disgrace to women's healthcare. If…read moreI could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Women's Premiere OB/GYN West Clinic was so appalling, I left feeling more emotionally violated than supported--thanks entirely to Ashley, who is by far the most unprofessional and downright disrespectful individual I've ever encountered in a medical setting. Let's start with the obvious: Ashley is painfully young, clearly inexperienced, and has no business working in women's health--or any patient-facing role, for that matter. She has the demeanor of someone working a high school part-time job at a food court, not someone responsible for helping patients navigate intimate, vulnerable, and often emotional healthcare experiences. She was dismissive, smug, and shockingly rude. The eye rolls, the attitude, the complete lack of empathy--this girl seemed more interested in power-tripping than providing any semblance of support or professionalism. When I asked a question about a billing issue, she cut me off mid-sentence and spoke to me like I was stupid. When I tried to advocate for myself, she treated me like I was a problem to be dealt with--not a human being seeking care. It was honestly jarring. In what universe is this acceptable in an OB/GYN clinic? Shame on this clinic for hiring someone so green, so utterly unqualified, and so emotionally immature to deal with patients. It speaks volumes about the leadership and their standards--or lack thereof. Women deserve so much better. This clinic needs a serious wake-up call, starting with a long look at who they're allowing to represent their name. Until Ashley is replaced with someone who knows the meaning of respect and professionalism, I will never step foot in this place again--and I'll be warning every woman I know to do the same. Avoid at all costs.

I have had nothing but good experiences here with the staff and nurses. No issues with making appointments, and lab tests have all been handled timely and easily. I'm a tough stick for blood draws and haven't had issues with lab techs not being able to draw blood. I ADORE my OB at this practice, Dr. Margaret Enadeghe. She is the first OB I've had who's taken the time to listen and respond to every single one of my and my partner's questions. Even when I nervously ask the same question multiple times over several visits! We are never rushed, however long she needs to spend with us to make us feel comfortable and informed, she does. She's a lovely person and a new mom herself, and happy to share her experiences tackling motherhood, which I've really appreciated as I'm becoming a first-time mom as well. Also, for folks who have ED/body dysmorphia issues, Dr. Enadeghe is incredibly sympathetic. I have disordered eating and was really worried I'd be tempted to restrict calories because of pregnancy weight gain. Thankfully, Dr. Enadeghe told me there was no need for me to even LOOK at the scale when they weighed me. She said she would inform me if anything was out of the ordinary, and assured me that the number on the scale wasn't a concern. This approach really helped me and made me much less anxious about my body's changes during pregnancy. I also really like the policies put in place by the clinic. I think they try to stay on top of current academic research and are consistently changing their protocols, instead of just sticking with antiquated methods. Quick example: I'm a research junkie and learned there's relatively new data that states it can be beneficial to the newborn to delay cord cutting after birth. This helps with hemoglobin levels and a bunch of other stuff. I asked Dr. Enadeghe about this and she said it was standard policy for the clinic to delay cord cutting.

I made an appt. and showed up to the appt only to be told that they didn't have my medical records so I couldn't be seen? Seems like something you'd tell someone before they're standing in front of you. Apparently they got a new system and have been having issues- so now that's my problem. Glad I got child care and moved my work schedule around for nothing. I made another appt. and actually asked what the first appt. was going to consist of because the gal called it a consult. I explained that I would need and ultrasound and wanted to be sure that I would be able to get one done when I came back; I was assured they would be able to check me out. I then called to follow up with my old physician, they said the records had been sent twice but promised to send and confirm receipt. The day before my appt I received a vm that my records had not been received... again. When I called Oakdale and explained that my old doctor had a delivery receipt they magically showed up and said I was good to go. I was able to secure a sitter and arrived to my appt today. I was asked to fill out paper work that I'd already completed, and given attitude by the girl at the front when I explained I'd already done it. Once I was with the doctor, I explained my symptoms she said it sound like needed an ultrasound?!? Yep- that's what I'm here for. Not so fast, she then said she would work to get an ultra sound scheduled for my next visit, and could set me up with a great surgeon?? Seems premature to be talking about a surgery, but whatever. The ultrasound I was promised wasn't happening - so this was another waste of time...turns out this was a consult. Exactly what I specifically said I DID NOT want??? They are a joke, the fact anyone is entrusting their health to this place is scary. Not only are they completely untrained, unorganized, and rude. I felt like it was a money grab before they even confirmed what was wrong. They need to get their shit together. I'm now sitting in an emergency room waiting to get an ultra sound done. Hopefully they can provide me with some level of actual healthcare. Anything would be better than this place. Run, run as fast as you can away from this place!!

"They usually have a better reputation than that. What you're describing doesn't add up. A delivery…read morelike yours has warning signs. How did they miss the warning signs?" Direct quote from an OBGYN friend after hearing what happened during a labor and delivery that nearly took my life and the life of my child. I've continued to hear "they usually have a better reputation than that" from other OBGYN's in the past 4.5 years as I sought second and third opinions to ongoing health conditions resulting from a delivery that nightmares are made of. Due of their negligence, a surrogate is pregnant with my child right now because it is physically impossible for my uterus to carry another pregnancy. Dr Ambur and Dr West were responsible for overseeing a safe delivery for me for a full-term, complication free, low risk pregnancy. Instead, my child and I are lucky to have survived and both had extended hospitalizations due to numerous complications resulting in nearly $300K in needless medical expenses paid out by my family and our insurance for a disastrous delivery that should have been straightforward. Dr West is fully aware that it is a miracle my child is alive today and not in a vegetative state and that the blame lands squarely on her shoulders for failing to properly track monitoring throughout the last 10+ hours of labor and failing to adhere to standards of practice that establish an expectation of "decision to incision" within 30 minutes of decision for a C-Section when a baby has persistent category II heart tracing with recurrent late and variable decelerations. The pattern of negligent care across providers in this practice continued after my initial discharge from the hospital after delivery. In hindsight, Dr Flom spent most of my appointments over the next 2 years gaslighting my concerns over feasibility of future pregnancies and went so far to laugh at me when I asked if there was a possibility of damage to my reproductive organs as a result of the trauma my body went through during delivery. When I continued to visit with concerns of not getting pregnant she added notes to my chart saying I declined testing when in reality I said I wasn't interested in pursuing interventions like IVF. She continued to fail basic fertility testing standards of practice in place for well over 2 decades by performing only a hormone panel test before prescribing letrozole to encourage ovulation. She could not have been less bothered to check if my tubes were open (they weren't) or if my uterus was free of obstructions that would prevent/complicate pregnancy (it wasn't). Dr Flom's inability to provide adequate care was so sub-standard that when she couldn't find my IUD in my uterus to remove it, she sent me home to try to get pregnant without any additional testing. Standard practice of care is to order an X-ray to confirm the device exited the body. Mine did not and it took switching to a different physician who ordered the X-Ray and had to pick their jaw up off the ground when they heard this hadn't been done more than a year earlier when it was discovered missing. (Insert another unsolicited comment of "They usually have a better reputation than that.") All in, my IUD was surgically removed from my abdomen by a different physician 15 months after Dr Flom was unable to locate it. THIS WHOLE TIME IT WAS PHYSICIALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET PREGNANT AND DR FLOM OUTRIGHT IGNORED AND DOWNPLAYED ANY CONCERN I EXPRESSED TO HER! Dr Flom conveniently retired "earlier than expected" within 4 months of learning of this mistake when SHE called me (not scheduling) to understand why I hadn't scheduled a procedure that was referred to this practice by mistake. It took snapping out of my denial that these physicians actually cared about my health, finding a different physician who took my concerns seriously, 1.5 years, and 3 surgeries to be given the devastating news that I would never be able to carry a future pregnancy as a direct result of preventable delivery complications under the care of physicians at this practice. Seeking care from this practice is without a doubt the worst healthcare decision I've ever made for myself. It might be one of the worst life choices I've ever made. It is a decision that nearly cost me my life and nearly cost the life of my child. It is a decision that cost me my ability to ever carry a pregnancy again. I live with the knowledge that selection of a different OB practice, a delivery at a different hospital, or a delivery on any other day would have realistically resulted in an uneventful delivery and that it would be me pregnant with my child today instead of someone else. Chose your physician like your life depends on it (because it does) and go anywhere else for care.

This review is for ladies only - guys, cover your eyes…read more After confirming my pregnancy last year, I was referred to John Haugen Associates by my primary care physician. They have three offices: downtown Minneapolis, Edina and Plymouth. I work downtown and loved the convenience of the downtown location, especially towards the end of the pregnancy when I was in the office every week for those routine checkups! At my initial visit I met with a nurse practitioner to discuss a wide range of practical matters, some of which included: -medical history -a physical exam -blood test -vitamins -foods and activities to avoid -weight gain -pros and cons of optional first trimester screening After that point I met with my ob for every other (and there were many!) routine visits. My doctor was Dr. Mary Dahling and I can't recommend her enough. She has a very calm presence and a reassuring bedside manner. And except for one or two instances where another one of her patients went into labor before my appointment, she was always very punctual; a major plus for those of us who have to fit medical care into the middle of our work days. I also feel like she's found a healthy balance between taking time to answer her patients' questions thoroughly without going overboard and over-explaining every little thing (if I'm curious, I'll look it up online, tyvm). I had four ultrasounds during my pregnancy: one during the first trimester, one during the second trimester and two during the third trimester. I had two ultrasounds at the Minneapolis location and two at the Edina location and all four blew my mind in the good way. The medical sonographers at both locations were phenomenal. Thanks especially to the excellent care I received during my pregnancy, John Haugen Associates continues to be my go-to clinic for my annual exam and I fully intend on coming here again if and when we have a second child.
