Absolutely horrible experience. I tried to tell my dr at my annual about breast and uterine pain - she verbalized my bra was too tight and asked how many partners I've had?! Turns out I went to a different clinic and had cancer!!!! WTF ?! I wasn't allowed to discuss anything other than an annual exam, if I wanted to talk about uterine pain, I had to book a different appointment. Oh and when I tried to see a different doctor within this clinic they allowed me to make an appointment, take off work and when I showed up made me leave because I had a $32 balance and couldn't pay it until 2 days later. This place is an absolute disgrace to women's healthcare. If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Women's Premiere OB/GYN West Clinic was so appalling, I left feeling more emotionally violated than supported--thanks entirely to Ashley, who is by far the most unprofessional and downright disrespectful individual I've ever encountered in a medical setting. Let's start with the obvious: Ashley is painfully young, clearly inexperienced, and has no business working in women's health--or any patient-facing role, for that matter. She has the demeanor of someone working a high school part-time job at a food court, not someone responsible for helping patients navigate intimate, vulnerable, and often emotional healthcare experiences. She was dismissive, smug, and shockingly rude. The eye rolls, the attitude, the complete lack of empathy--this girl seemed more interested in power-tripping than providing any semblance of support or professionalism. When I asked a question about a billing issue, she cut me off mid-sentence and spoke to me like I was stupid. When I tried to advocate for myself, she treated me like I was a problem to be dealt with--not a human being seeking care. It was honestly jarring. In what universe is this acceptable in an OB/GYN clinic? Shame on this clinic for hiring someone so green, so utterly unqualified, and so emotionally immature to deal with patients. It speaks volumes about the leadership and their standards--or lack thereof. Women deserve so much better. This clinic needs a serious wake-up call, starting with a long look at who they're allowing to represent their name. Until Ashley is replaced with someone who knows the meaning of respect and professionalism, I will never step foot in this place again--and I'll be warning every woman I know to do the same. I live out of state and I scheduled 2 appointments in September for end of November, they cancelled both within 24 hours. I rescheduled my appointment and they cancelled the next one within 2 hours of the appointment. Ridiculous customer service, I will not be going back. read more

If you want your uterus treated like an ATM, this is the place to go. Every part of your care experience will be designed around maximum profitability, with your needs a secondary afterthought. If you ask to get more information about all of the tests and procedures they're suggesting, they'll ask you why your insurance is bad. And if you call them to get your antidepressants refilled because you're out, they'll tell you that you have to come in first (during a pandemic). At the very least, you can expect complete transparency- whatever they can conceivably bill your insurance company for, that's what they're going to suggest. The only problem is that when you try to push back, it's all about the shame game. I wouldn't get my puppies delivered by these people. read more

I so appreciate having Dr Teigen as my Doctor and the whole staff of OB/GYN West have been very easy to work with. I had to find a new Doctor after mine of over 20 years retired , it is difficult to find someone you not only feel you can trust but know you can! Over several office visits and a minor surgery Dr Teigen has proven he cares about his patients. He listens and takes your concerns seriously and has been extremely patient and gentle at every appointment. He is knowledgable and extremely competant! First of all, I am not one to write/post reviews unless I feel very compelled to do so and feel that it would be helpful for others to have the information, or helpful for those involved to make corrections. So here goes.... as today is a holiday I received a call back from the doc on call, which happened to be Eric English. I had been having some concerns related to my treatment of a urinary tract infection, and was looking for some information. After a very brief two minute phone conversation, which I will say was helpful, Dr. English very abruptly stated "I have to go" and quickly ended our conversation. I had no intention of keeping him on the phone much longer, and found his manner to be extremely rude and belittling, and was made to feel that I was "bothering" him - but isn't that the job of being doc on call??! Sorry to say this happened, because up until now I have been very happy with the care received from OBGYN West, and unfortunately this experience by one doc has tarnished it for me. So hence, my rating of two stars for "could have been better". Hope this review is helpful. read more

This is an update to a previous review of this clinic. I have been a patient of Dr. Weinrich's for about a year and a half. He provided good care for me both before, during and after the pregnancy of my daughter. I like that the physicians at this clinic are on call for all their patients so your doctor will most likely be the one to deliver your baby. Though he was more hands off than I would have wished considering it was my first pregnancy, he was always very honest and helpful and we were very grateful for the safe delivery of our daughter in June 2015. Unfortunately there has always been a lower level of care and professionalism from both the nurses and the office members. The nurses tend to be crass and much too casual considering the nature of their jobs. Commenting on how much work it will be to have a girl, how they like to drink on the weekends and other less than classy banter is not something I expect from my doctor's office. The billing office has sent me incorrect bills, and their billing person Gina is very slow to respond and unhelpful once you do get ahold of her. I also have had an issue with them not communicating well what kind of tests or procedures are being done and then billing me later for those procedures (ex. performing 2 types of ultrasounds, the 2nd being less than 60 seconds long, and then charging for both even though the 2nd one was not medically necessary.) Unfortunately for the doctors of this private practice, their staff is a huge disappointment and I will be looking for a new office and physician for future pregnancies. read more

Well i would have to say Dr English is pretty amazing. I have been with him for the last two years and been through two pregnancies and i would not of changed a thing. It was also fun that his favorite soccer team and my husbands are rivals so it was fun for them to joke around about that. He makes your annual visit, as comfortable as it can be - given the circumstances. He's polite, professional, helpful and seems to truly care about the health and well being of his patients. Got referred to this place through a friend. The eden praire location has it all and Dr Katie Toft is the BEST I feel. She is friendly, extremely insanely positive, compliments the situation my wife was going through and how she is handling it all, v.v.v through, not in a rush, listens and pretty a PERFECT person you you would want to be taking care of your wife and baby. I will be using Katie T for ALL of my future kids FO SHO !!! Love her and love the facility and the awesome and friendly staff. read more

The clinic is nice and good for an OBGYN. No problems there. As for infertility, I'm not impressed. I went there for maybe 4 cycles, paid probably $3k out of pocket and in the end realized I never figured out why I wasn't getting pregnant. I never got a diagnosis. They didn't do any tests on me, such as blood work to check my hormones, unless I asked them to, which they did. I feel frustrated that I was just put on clomid right away to see if that would work. It's my fault for not asking more questions. (They did do the two major tests of HSG and sperm.) I later went back for my regular yearly appointment and the doctor there told me not to come here for infertility but go to a "real" clinic. That was weird and frustrating since I was now about $3K and time. Also, I contacted them online using their message system and no one contacted me back. I tried twice. I will continue my journey somewhere else, but I wanted to warn others who are going through my misery to be aware. read more

I was there for annual physical but they changed the purpose of my visit from physical to something else when I asked my specific question. They should have asked me to leave (or informed me) when they realized, the conversation is going off track. When I called, they were rude and tried to pick a fight. The doctor and the higher admin person never returned my call. However Dr Rachel was nice enough to return my other calls before I complained. Also, they recommended a whole lot of further tests which are not needed according to my other doctor who is a specialist. Thank God I did not go through those unnecessary tests worth $2,000 or more. Always take a second opinion before spending thousands of dollars on worthless treatments recommended by OBGYN West. read more

I don't think anyone should go here for fertility treatments. My problem was with Dr. Eric English. In 2011 I went to him when I had a lab test that said my FSH was 11.2. I was just 28 years old at this time, and without doing ANY other testing, he told me that meant I had diminished ovarian reserve and that I needed to use donor eggs if I ever wanted a child. I was devastated, but I refused to accept that as an answer. I went on to try an IUI with Dr. Heegaard and ended up growing 5 eggs on 50mg of Clomid. That failed and I tried for another iui, this time Dr. Grootwassink was overseeing my care, and he lowered my dose to 25mg of Clomid. I still made 5-6 eggs. The IUI didn't work, but can I just say - that is NOT diminished ovarian reserve, Eric English. Women with diminished ovarian reserve usually have a very very low AMH, and many can barely make more than two to four eggs on the highest doses of injectable FSH drugs. Some girls with DOR don't even respond AT ALL. Did he even bother testing my AMH before telling me I needed donor eggs? NO?!? I mean what if I had listened to him? I wouldn't be blessed with the child I have now - with my own eggs by the way, Dr. English. Anyways he soon learned on his own that I did not have diminished ovarian reserve. I went for a 3rd IUI but this time it was with Dr. English and he agreed to let me use injectables. I can't remember the exact protocol, but I know we used 75 units of either menopur or follistim for 5 days. He never even bothered checking with the other doctors or looking at my past cycles because if he had, he would have realized I was a high responder and not given me the injectables for an IUI. They gave me one ultrasound. I was suppose to come in for a second one and ended up getting stuck out of town so I missed it, and that was no fault of OBGYN. But still Dr. English told me to trigger than night and do an IUI the following night. Without an ultrasound to check the follicles. Back then, I didn't know a lot about fertility treatments like I do now, but I still realized that wasn't a good idea given my past response to just Clomid, and I have no medical degree. So I scheduled an appointment with another gynecologist the same day, and an ultrasound revealed I had 35 follicles! That doctor called OBGYN west and told them they were going to end up giving me ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome etc etc. Needless to say they canceled my IUI. Fine. But then in the following days I got a letter in the mail saying I was "dismissed" as a patient. All because Dr. English was irresponsible and was going to trigger me for an IUI without giving me an ultrasound. I ended up having a cyst the size of a golf ball on my ovary from that cycle and landed in the emergency room twice. A cyst that big is very dangerous and life threatening if it would have burst. Negligent, Dr. English. Where was your duty of care? Anyways, my fertility issue was endometriosis diagnosed via surgery performed by Dr. Grootwassink and I was urged to move on the IVF by Dr. Heeggaard. This is before the debacle with Dr. English. I will complain that Dr.Heegaard was pushing IVF on me after two failed IUIs, but he was right. I never would have gotten pregnant with an IUI. A few months later, thanks to women in online forums, I learned that an elevated FSH without any signs of diminished ovarian reserve is often a symptom of the endometriosis itself. I needed an reproductive immunologist to deal with the immunological issues caused by endometriosis ( in some women, me being one of them) and IVF to conceive. I am grateful for OBGYN west for diagnosing my problem. They were very quick and if it weren't for them I never would have even suspected the endo. I think they had me diagnosed in less than 6 months. So I do recommend them for diagnostic purposes. Dr. Grootwassink is a very good doctor and a very good surgeon, very kind and very knowledgeable. Dr. Heegaard was a good doctor too. But because of Dr. English, I don't think they should be doing fertility treatments at all. And English himself needs to at least do some googling to learn what DOR really is before he tells people they need donor eggs. read more

I have been a patient of dr. Tofts for about 4 years. She is a good doctor but does not return phone calls. It is impossible to get questions answered and the office staff is rude to people with government healthcare. They lump women into a single mindset and that type of care is not for me. Everyone woman should be viewed as an individual - with individual needs. Office staff is constantly changing and they have no idea what they are doing. The woman - Heidi - who fills out medical forms is a glorified admin who has no knowledge of what she is doing. She doesn't even understand FMLA or disability. They have no HR department either which shows when reporting issues. Do yourself a favor and find another clinic that values women and doesn't see them as just another woohoo. read more

My physician is Dr English and I adore him, but Dr Johnson especially and Toft and all of them are amazing. The receptionists, front desk, nurses and doctors are the best part of this place. I actually had an easy time making appointments and communicating with the front desk. I absolutely love my nurse and doctor. Dr Johnson has delivered my Last child and it was a pleasant experience. Thank you, 5 stars for them. If you can get past the rudeness of (I think her name was Gina) in the business office, Gina is unhelpful and rude on the phone. She talked with an attitude telling me things I already knew (history of previous appointments), repeatedly interrupted when I tried to add information, and then said I was "hollering" when I asked her to let me finish. Disorganized, Information was inaccurate (listed wrong doctor for last appointment). 1 Star for her. This practice is good for the most part. When I have another child I will go find another practice. read more

Let me explain my low rating... I was seen by a PA-C at the Minnetonka location in November 2014. She gave me a Z-pack for a sinus infections. Per the physician I had to see 5 days later at a different practice because I was getting worse let me know the Z-Pack is inappropriate to prescribe to a health, non-pregnant female. I was given the appropriate antibiotic and a nasal steroid. A couple days later with the proper treatment, I felt better. Now, I brought this to the attention of OB GYN West's business office. I called, wrote letters and emails... nothing. I didn't pay my bill, sending the bill back explaining I'd like the charges removed or inappropriate treatment. No response, No phone call, no letter, Nothing. Finally, in March 2015, I received an email. I called the office and spoke with the office manager, who couldn't help me. She put me in touch with the administrator, and he was argumentative, dismissive and was no help. I let him know I'd be talking to the Attorney General about this bill. One month later, after letting him know that, I was sent to collections. Unbelievable. I've never complained about the care I've received... and when I spoke up about the awful care I received, this is what happens?? So... I wouldn't accept an appointment with any of the PA-Cs... and if you do receive care from the doctors, they are wonderful... but if you have a billing dispute... well. It's a mess trying to deal with anyone. read more

First, I'm a guy. Dont have too much bussines being at places like this and never thought I'd be writing a review about one. That being said, they're pretty good. My wife has come here for a while now (4-5 years)from a referral from a friend, and now that we're pregnant I've been coming along for the last 9 months. I dont know if any guy could really be comfortable in a place like this, but they make it as easy as possible. Dr. Tiegen has always taken the time to answer any questions and calm our nerves. He's professional, but not cold and stiff. Sarah, the nurse we've had for most of the visits is excellent. Overall I'd say it's been one of the best medical expiriences I've ever delt with. I'll leave it up to the other reviewers to tell you about the gyno stuff. Now we jus need to get the kid out of there. read more

If I were rating specific doctors, rather than an entire clinic, I would give Dr. Toft 5 stars. Lora Princ, on the other hand would get a 0. The woman is downright rude. Ironically, she claims on the OBGYN West website that she is always there for her patients and she wants them to know she is available to them. That may be true in some cases - just don't catch her on-call! She might treat you like an annoyance and an inconvenience, as she did me. In my opinion, if a "doctor" cannot be kind and respectful to their patients, "they" should probably find another profession. One that does not involve interaction with customers. If you're looking to choose a doctor from this clinic - steer clear of Prince. She is a cruel and stuck-up individual. If you're looking for a friendly, up-beat and pleasant doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Toft. She is amazing. On a different note: I had once scheduled an appointment about three weeks in advance and then got a cancellation phone call two days beforehand. They said there was a company-wide meeting scheduled and they had to cancel my appointment. Okay, not a super big deal. However, when trying to reschedule my visit, they were unwilling to work with me. Each day/time I requested was unavailable. That was pretty disappointing, seeing as it was their (the company's) fault. There was no effort made on their part to remedy the situation. Overall - The place is nice, clean and quiet with really friendly nurses and front-desk staff. As long as you beware of Princ, you should have a pleasant experience with OBGYN West. read more

This is an honest report!! I was referred to OB/ GYN West because of issues I had over a year. I was initially excited to finally get answers to my situation. I made the appointment, took off work that day and called a day before to confirm my appointment- everything was good. I get to the clinic the day of m appointment and I am impressed with the building and decor but when I went to check in there was no appointment for me. I was livid as I had already researched the doctor I wanted to see and had called prior to the day of. I am tight on time because I work six days a week sometimes fifteen hour days. I did not want to reschedule so I was put in with another doctor. I wasn't ok with that but I figured I did not have a choice. I was so disappointed in the doctor I saw that day. He basically sat in a room with me and did nothing, I did not get the answers I wanted. I believe at the time he was new, but very unprofessional in his work. I wasted my time and got no answers. I let it go as a mistake on my part, I should of just rescheduled. The doctor is not the reason I am writing this report. I am writing this report because as always chances are you will get a bill from any doctor visit. I was not expected such a large bill however especially when the reason for the visit was still unaswered. I am a honest person so just paid it in payments each month. The bill was about $400 so Iwas paying $100 a month. I also had other medical bills at the time and was using money from my HSA account. I paid faithfully each month the same amount. The part that really pissed me off was that I never missed a payment the last month I paid $60 the beginning of the month and that same month I went to pay the rest. I go to pay the rest of my remaining balance and I can't!! I was confused so I called them, well they sent my account to collections for a hundred and something dollars. I thought that was insane!! I had been paying every month. I was disrespected my the rep I spoke with their, she always said they had been trying to call me. It took a while but I finally was able to verify the information they had. They did not have the correct phone number or address and was very well presented with valid information the time of visit. "So it was my fault they had the wrong information and apparently the $100 a month I had been faithfully paying was not good enough" I unfortunately was sent to collections!!! It is now on my credit report. I promise this is the truth and I am not out seeking revenge. If you go to this place be very careful! I don't recommend going here but everyone will make their own decision. I have proof that what I am saying is valid, I paid faithfully and was sent to collection. I have been a patient of Dr. Toft for several years, and she is truly wonderful. I have no complaints about her or her nurse, who is very personable and thorough. What bothers me is that my phone calls are rarely returned. After my last visit, I called twice and left messages, and no one called me back. I felt really undervalued. I'd rather go somewhere smaller where more attention is paid to each patient. read more

Dr Heegaard was our lifesaver. I became concerned with fertility and fibroids and was referred to him from an infertility clinic that suggested I try him prior to full scale (and expensive) infertility treatment. Upon the first visit, Dr Heegaard was helpful, approachable and gave me ideas that I had never heard before. We ended up needing two surgeries, but the result was a healthy baby boy! I don't think I would have had the same result with other doctors. I highly recommend Dr Heegaard!! read more

I cannot express my love and appreciation for this clinic/office, especially Dr. Eric Heegaard. I had horrible chronic pain for about a year and a half due to stage IV endometriosis. My first surgery at Mayo had not worked and left so much left to be done. When you go through something like that, you develop a pessimism for the modern doctor or surgeon. I was very nervous going to meet Dr. Heegaard, but he instantly quelled my fear with his knowledge of endometriosis, excision surgery, and the DaVinci machine that he operates with. I was immediately calmed and excited for my surgery. Now, over a year later, I feel 110% better than I ever had before, my symptoms have almost completely gone away, and I still thank Dr. Heegaard every day of my life!!! read more

Random to see a gyn-ob as something to rate, but since it was listed I thought I would add my opinion. I started going here when I was pregnant with my first child. Dr. Tiegen is great, professional, polite, friendly and listens to your concerns. I was monitored closely at the end of both of my pregnancies which meant coming in a couple times a week. It was always easy to get an appointment and to get in and out quickly. He delivered both of my sons personally and made it to hospital quickly when needed. I don't know how he balances everything, but it is nice to have one doctor working with you through all of your pregnancy and delivery. read more

Just don't. They upsell you on everything from unnecessary genetic testing to formula. They're also wildly insensitive and condescending to first-time moms, as I found out the hard way. When I expressed interest in a water birth, the doctor literally wrinkled her nose and said, "You don't want your baby born in vagina juice." This was an M.D. I also couldn't get a basic call back after bloodwork and they were purposefully slow getting my records to my new doctor, without any regard for how or if it would impact my care. I have been going to OBGYN west in Minnetonka for years. Made an appointment at this location due to renovations. Very happy with my appointment! Same high level of care and friendly staff. I was very comfortable. I've fainted every time I've had a blood draw since early childhood, multiple blood draws a year I'm 26, I've fainted every time. Today the nurses I saw showed extra concern and compassion even as I tried to brush away their concerns that it's just a fact of life oh well. These nurses problem solved and told me they would use a baby needle which is much smaller. I'm a small framed woman. GENIUS thank you!! So grateful I was in their care today. For the first time ever I did NOT lose consciousness during a blood draw! But even still I was provided with juice and ice packs and was walked to my car just incase. Thank you so much for taking a moment to figure out how to best provide me care! Grateful. read more

I came here for services that are 100% covered under the ACA preventative services, and they billed me for it instead. Attempts to resolve the issue have only led to a hot-potato game between the insurance company and this clinic. I would NOT recommend going here unless you want to pay out of pocket for services that should be fully covered. Their billing is screwed up. read more

I had such positive experiences going to this clinic over a period of 7+ years. The front desk staff were competent and the nurses were friendly and knowledgeable. The frequent appointments throughout my pregnancy seemed very organized and the care was consistently good. Dr. Larson was caring, thorough and a good listener. She has a great personality that automatically puts you at ease. My family moved out of state and I was sad to move on to another OBGYN clinic. Situation: first time expectant mother (I decided to add that caveat to my review because I know often we're more nervous than mothers who have been through pregnancy before) My OB is wonderful and helpful during appointments, BUT if I have any questions between appointments they're unreachable and instead rely on nurses or techs to return calls. This is where I have a problem: their nurse "help" line is a complete joke. I've had 5 questions thus far during my pregnancy outside of appointment times that I really would have preferred to ask my OB about instead of Google, but every time I called the receptionists were adamant to redirect me to their nurse "help" line without even knowing the urgency of my call. Nurse help line has been worthless and entirely unhelpful 5 out of 5 times. It'd be nice if the receptionists would at least let my OB know I had called and what the situation was for documentation purposes, also therefore would let the OB DECIDE if she needed to be involved or if it was a question a nurse could answer. The "help" line is open from 8 or 9am to about 4:30 during the weekdays, which is zero help if you have an urgent question beyond those hours and even if calling during business hours you'll have to leave a message and HOPE they will call you back. I've received calls back only 3 out of the 5 times. The times they have decided to grace my phone with a call back, it's taken a minimum of 3 hours, and that was for a very urgent matter.... and was simply told it was best to make an appointment. I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS FROM THE TIME IN WHICH I FIRST CALLED HOURS PRIOR HAD I BEEN ABLE TO JUST SPEAK WITH SOMEONE WHO CARED OR MY OB and it would have saved me/my pregnancy 3 hours of angst. The other times I did receive a call back have been over a DAY before getting a response and these times as well they did not provide any useful information beyond what I found via Google. read more

Ok, so it takes something really special to make me want to Yelp! about my gyno and this place is stocked full of that specialness! After spending many years in university student health centers, the random Planned Parenthood, and a variety of international doctor's offices, I have finally settled into a life that allows me to be pampered at my annual exam. Well, maybe I wouldn't exactly say that an appointment here is like the spa-but it is about as close as you can get. The scheduling staff is super friendly and easy to work with, the front desk staff ROCKS (I had better service here than my last dining experience), the Medical Assistants were really friendly and easy to chat with, the office space has just the right about of privacy, and the providers (I see Dr. Toft) are GREAT! My appointment was scheduled for enough time to talk about my health (imagine that!), explain and teach, and have an exam. I actually left this appointment feeling really positive about the appointment and my choice to try out this clinic. I highly recommend this place. read more

It saddens me to have to report this to any readers considering going to OBGYN West, but it's more important to spare women the agony and preserve their health and safety. This medical group has an aggressive and unrelenting mission to do as many medical procedures and surgeries as possible, even when they are often not medically necessary. I had numerous office visits and some treatments that involved more than one physician and their staff continually trying to manipulate me into submitting to unnecessary medical procedures. When I repeatedly and firmly stated my desires (and reminded them of my right to choose), they were resistant to providing a full range of options, unsupportive in my personal choices, and uncooperative disclosing information, that should have all been due to me as a patient receiving care. They wanted full and continued patient "compliance" for the most expensive (and riskiest) procedures that could possibly be related to any issue a woman has at an ObGyn office. I thought perhaps they were just mistreating me, but after talking through the grapevine with several other friends and relatives, I found out that I was not the only one. So why am I the only one willing to say something... because others have busy lives, and were too frustrated to do anything about it, so they just moved on to other clinics. I guess I understand that, but I have compassion for others so I would hope that anyone else who experiences this will take heed at the earliest stage, so as not to waste any of their precious time, energy, money, and most importantly to make sure they don't sacrifice their body to a science experiment, or an opportunity to line their pockets. They really need to be reminded of the fact that women should have the right to choose what they do with their own bodies... but unfortunately this office does not respect a woman's right to choose what she will with her own body without manipulation, coercion, and abuse of power. Unfortunately they are practicing in a very unethical manner, at the expense of human life. Please take the time and be an educated consumer; know your rights and exercise them; find out what is best for you and insist on that, even if it means choosing another office. There are wonderful medical groups and physicians out there (just not this one). read more
