I have never received anything but the best treatment and care from this provider. The staff is friendly and responsive, taking the time to listen to my needs. Calls are returned as promised and guidance and assistance provided based on specific situation. This is a truly supportive environment for women of all ages. It's understandable for a patient to commit to taking the time to provide negative feedback when they feel something has gone wrong for them. Taking the time to provide positive feedback requires that extra step which otherwise would not feel necessary. Unfortunately, this makes the negative appear to outweigh the good. Keep doing what you are doing at Clinic Sofia! read more

I have been seen with Clinic Sofia for the past 5-6 years. I was so hopeful to go through my pre pregnancy, pregnancy and post pregnancy with this clinic. I enjoyed my experiences with all of the doctors and PA's that I worked with especially Dr. Jordi. I am saddened that I will no longer continue my care with this practice and that I wont get to deliver with Dr. Jordi or any other provider that I trusted. It is scary being pregnant and working with a great doctor for so many years and then having to make a change. I am currently pregnant with my first child and going through some abnormal symptoms that I find concerning. I called my care team and let the nurse know of my concerns in hopes that they would get me in to check my vitals and baby. Instead I was met with comments like I need to go to the ER or see a Neurologist... I was very taken back as my symptoms were not emergent. I have been seen for so many years with this team and they had no interest in getting me in and checking my blood pressure or any other simple tests to see if that may be the problem to my symptoms. I called back again in the afternoon to advocate for myself and try to get in with my OBGYN to ensure my baby and myself are healthy. The nurse was extremely dismissive and wouldn't let me get more than two words in. As a first time pregnant women I began to feel emotional and scared as it was clear they they did not care about me or my baby and were not going to help me. I have never been spoken to so poorly or ignored by a nurse more in my life. The nurse also stated that "they do not have any same day appointments" and they "wouldn't be able to give me the care that I needed if I needed fluids"... Maybe if they got me into the clinic they could see what I actually needed and didn't need and then go from there?.. As a frightened first time mom I would hope that my care team would be eager to get me in to check on me and my baby. I called a different OBGYN facility and explained the same symptoms to their team and they scheduled to get me in immediately due to their concerns with my symptoms. I HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere if you feel you are not getting taken seriously by the nurses. Always advocate for yourself and find a team that listens and cares about your wellbeing! I hope other first time moms do not have to experience what I did. read more

Replying to you Katie S- How dare you talk down to me to try and cover yourselves. Your sketchy company dropped the ball and also never made me feel welcomed. We always seemed to be winging it. And I'm sorry who's paying who? Last I checked it was me obviously will not be paying for anything else. And what are you talking about two other providers???? Went to the ER twice for bleeding!!!! You seem to not know what you're talking about. You can Expect a letter from my attorney. Also I see why your bogus company is NOT Better Business Bureau accredited. All those awards on your walls I'm sure came straight off your printer and are fake. And then to top it all off one of your snobby doctors who wouldn't even let us get a question in send us to THE WORST HOSPITAL IMAGINABLE and to the most insensitive doctor imaginable - Riverside and Dr. Marcotte - is really just the icing on the cake. I'm glad my husband and I ran out of there and went to Abbott. All of you have been so insensitive it's insane. This was a little life that was lost!!!! And with your bs reply it just yet again shows how much you and your company and staff "care". It's all about covering yourselves right? Cause that's what matters...... absolutely HORRIBLE! read more

I couldn't even make an appointment. I told the rep my symptoms, that they are all over the place, and that testing by my PCP have all returned normal and they won't do anything else insurance won't cover, but something is still very wrong. I told the rep I would need testing to determine what's going on. You know, like how any doctor would do to make complex diagnoses. She was painfully clueless and kept asking what my issue is. Dear, if I knew that, why in the world would I be talking to you and not my PCP??? Tells me all I need to know about the clinic and I won't be going there at all. Hire competent people, and if you can't find them, don't get into the business of people's health and wellbeing. The things people do for money. read more

I think this is one of the most considerate and patient group of female providers I have ever seen. Each of the doctors, PAs, and nurses take time to chat and obtain information, making me feel comfortable and welcome. This is an environment all women should feel confident in when dealing with their health and family planning. I have been coming to this clinic for 20+ years. read more

I saw Dr. Jordi for a while and found her to be the most defensive medical provider I've had. She seemed intensely frustrated when I asked questions, even when I took care to try to do it in a non-threatening way. She would say things that flat out contradicted other things she'd just said, and then seemed put out when I was confused. (This happened twice while a loved one was on speakerphone, so I had confirmation that it wasn't just my misinterpretation.) I gather she's pretty new at this so maybe this will change over time... but I won't be there to find out. I'm glad I resisted most of the procedures she suggested that seemed unnecessary to me. read more

I saw Dr. Wagner last year for my annual. She was rushing, did not care to listen. So I decided to switch to a different doctor at Sofia Clinic and saw Dr. Erin Stevens for my annual visit this year. She spent 7 minutes with me. She was in such a hurry. The annual includes a breast exam, ovary exam, and a pap smear. I am in the medical field and I know exactly how a breast exam should be done and she did not check the full breast nor checked the area closer to the armpit. She did not check my ovaries as well! Just flat lazy!!! I would never go back to see her again and I am done with Sofia Clinic as it is obvious that all they care about is what brings them the money and not patient's health read more

i was asked if i exchanged in sex for $$; lots of interpersonal questions i was not asked by previous gyno appts. i have trauma in my charts and as soon as i was deep breathing and soft crying during the exam my dr snapped up and in an annoyed voice said "what's going on" & i said well i do have trauma in my charts to try to begin an explanation. i sobbed to my car & felt less than human after this interaction & allowing someone in this profession to touch me after how condescending they were i should've just asked to reschedule and see a separate dr. read more

Clinic Sofia is the best in town. I see Dr Wagner, but also see Dr Stevens form time to time. I transferred from another provider to Clinic Sofia in 2019 during my pregnancy and was very stressed and scared. Dr Wagner spent more than the time we had scheduled for the consultation. She listened and paid attention to our concerns and laid out a very detailed plan for my husband and I for me and baby's care. Katie at the front desk is super friendly! It was one of the best decisions of my life. The care is exceptional from the first day to delivery and after delivery day. Dr Stevens stopped by at one point to check on us. We can't thank you enough for how you've touched our hearts! The way we were welcomed, treated, taken cared off and continue to be cared for at Clinic Sofia is unmatched. We truly are grateful to have found a provider that truly care about their patients. Keep up the good work! read more

This practice exceeds 5 stars in every aspect. I used Dr. Block throughout my pregnancy. She was always patient, friendly, understanding, and gave me as much time as I needed. She went on vacation at the end of my pregnancy so I ended up switching to Dr. Wagner whom I loved just as much. I thought I was the only one who continues to use this practice as my primary physician even though my son is over 9 months old already but I happened to have been chatting with others who confirmed my feelings. The day they shut down is the day I stop having kids ;-) Top Notch Office. read more

Usually, people write a review when they've had a really, really good experience or a really, really bad experience with a doctor. I've seen Donna Block for numerous times, and these are the things I've noticed that made me decide I will never, ever go back to Clinic Sofia again: 1. Dr. Block has no respect for patients' time: every time I go in, I have to wait at least 30 minutes until Dr. Block comes. She is known to squeeze patients in even though her schedule is beyond full. Also, usually doctors ask us "do you have any questions" before they leave the room. Dr. Block sometimes just leaves the room in a hurry and does not even provide closure to the treatment, leaving me hanging. We're all busy people, our time matters too. 2. Patients don't come first, money does: since I've seen Dr. Block many times over the years, I've noticed that Dr. Block, and all the other staff at Clinic Sofia, operates on the notion that they should push as many procedures, oftentimes unnecessary, onto the patients as possible so they can extra bill. 3. Perhaps as a result of reason #2, Dr. Block treats patients like we do not understand our own bodies and that she is always right: I am a doctor myself, and have other friends in the medical fields I consult with. I noticed whenever I thought Dr. Block's treatment suggestions may not be the most effective approach, she never listened to my rationale or my own evaluation of my body. 4. Carelessness of the staff in treating patients: I recently got an ultrasound from Clinic Sofia per Dr. Block's recommendation. During the procedure, I noticed the ultrasound technician DID NOT PERFORM ANY CLEANING PROCEDURES before performing the ultrasound procedure. I've had other ultrasounds performed at Park Nicollet and the Mayo clinic. Never have I seen such carelessness in the medical profession just to save time. This resulted in me getting an acute urinary tract & bladder infection (bloody urine, fever, chills, pain, body ache and headache) after the appointment. Because of #4, I've decided I will never, ever go back to Dr. Block and Clinic Sofia ever again. I will also tell all my friends, coworkers, and clients about this experience to prevent them from experiencing inadequate, potentially harmful treatments from Clinic Sofia. And by writing this review, I hope you will view Dr. Block and Clinic Sofia with a grain of salt, and carefully evaluate their service and professionalism before you peruse their services. Good day. read more

I am extremely grateful for the care that Clinic Sofia has given me during the past two pregnancies. My first pregnancy was with a regular doctor's office, and I ended up losing my baby at 21 weeks due to complications. When someone suggested switching to Dr. Block at Clinic Sofia, I was a little unsure, but I guarantee they have been part of the reason that I now have a healthy toddler and another one coming in just a few months. They have more precautionary items built into their regular visits that the other doctor did not have, and overall, I can tell they take better care over each patient. They cheer you on to the end, and will take very good care of you when complications arise. I would highly, highly recommend this clinic to women. It's a wonderful, personalized experience. read more

I love Dr. Wagner! She was awesome to work with for both of my pregnancies. I felt likes he really cared about me and me babies. I wanted to share my experience so other women do not have to be surprised by the same experience that I had. I was highly referred to Clinic Sofia, however, saw Dr. Block whom was not the specific doctor recommended at this clinic. She was just rated one of the Top Docs in MN which means nothing to me after the 10 weeks I spent with her as my physician during my pregnancy. If you look at another review by Julia M dated 10/6/12, you will see that I am not alone in this experience. I moved 20 weeks into my pregnancy and wanted a doctor closer to my new home. At my first meeting with her I thought she was charming as she discussed how everything is going well in my pregnancy and how she was excited to be "a part of this magical" time with me. As I continued to see her I experienced a much different doctor. It often felt that she didn't know me from the next patient and she was always rushed. My pregnancy has been very healthy. No diabetes, high blood pressure or any other minor complications. My baby is extremely healthy and like the rest of my family, he will likely be a 8 or 9 lb baby. I did not question monthly growth ultrasounds as they were expecting him to be a bigger baby. Not huge or off the charts..just an above average healthy baby. But when the ultrasound tech delivered the message that Dr. Block had ordered weekly BPP and NST testing my husband and I were very confused. My baby passed both of these tests with flying colors and of course, Dr Block was too busy to talk to me that day so I was not able to discuss with her the reason for testing etc. I was left researching on my own and wondering all weekend "what is wrong with my baby that weekly testing is needed". According to ACOG and Mayo Clinic literature that I could find this type of testing is done for high risk pregnancies. None of the criteria applied to me. After stressing out all weekend I finally called to speak with anyone Sunday night. Dr. Block called me back and said that I was considered high risk because my baby was bigger and they didn't know why...which in my case, its obvious and had been discussed with her many times! 8-9 lb babies run in my family! She then interrupted herself and said, "Oh, I see you did pass your gestational diabetes testing"...which goes back to my feeling of her not knowing me from the rest of the patients she rushes around to see. When I continued to ask questions to understand why this was the best approach, she gave me answers like "ACOG recommends this", "I don't trust your baby 100%, just 95%" (is that even ethical to say to a pregnant mother? Not to mention it was a completely unintelligent response to what was supposed to be an intelligent question so as a woman and a mother I can understand why all of this medical micromanagement of a healthy pregnancy would be needed). She gave me no answers, planted seeds of doubt about the health of my baby and made me feel so nervous about what it would be like with her in the labor and delivery room. She seemed irritated that I wanted to be informed about the recommendations of my care during my HEALTHY pregnancy. When I provided her with the feedback that these recommendations should be discussed with the patient by the Dr. and not an ultrasound tech, she said that "she would pass the feedback along" as if she was taking no responsibility for the fact that SHE failed to have dialogue with me about this. Ultimately, I went back to Dr. Collins at Paul Larson OBGYN. I should have never left. She and her colleagues reviewed the same ultrasounds and information and said that they found no reason or support from ACOG for this type of medical testing weekly as my pregnancy and baby are healthy. I am not sure if her approach is motivated by money (she is the founder of Clinic Sofia and these tests, while covered by my insurance, are not cheap) or if she just looks at pregnancy as a condition that needs medical micromanagement and unnecessary interventions instead of the natural process that it is. Either way, not for me, and not for my healthy baby and healthy pregnancy. read more

I started going to Clinic Sofia Maple Grove when I was pregnant because I was referred by a family member who is in the medical field and they had heard good things. I love this clinic, and the people at this clinic, from the receptionist to the ultra sound tech, the nurses... and especially the doctors who have taken such great care of me and my family- who love them too! Dr. Clay is the best- he is professional but also is very down to earth. I met with Dr. Hammers a couple times and she was very nice too. read more

Worst experience ever! I left this practice after 6 months of pregnancy care. This being our first child, I really liked what their website claimed the practice was based on. The website is misleading and the practice needs some intense in house training on care and compassion. All the Doctors are rude! You wait in the waiting room over an hour for EVERY appointment! The whole office is unorganized and always in a rush and doesn't answer questions/concerns. The ultrasound tech at Maple Grove is completely cold and unprofessional and should find another job. I have had friends that went here and have now left and complain of the same issues. It's truly sad that they run a practice saying that they focus on women and women's needs, yet I feel an all men's practice would treat you better! I transferred care to Park Nicollet and it was the best experience ever. read more

Dr. Block and the team at Clinic Sophia are truly amazing. I'm an anesthesiologist and have worked with many OB/Gyns and I trust her and the rest of the doctors in her practice to take care of me and my children. My sister also sees Dr. Block and I've been present for her 3 deliveries. When things don't go as expected; Dr. Block is calm, collected and in charge. That is what I want in a provider. Service at front desk service was poor. Medical assistant escort to room extremely poor-mumbling questions rapidly, handed me a paper gown, and dashed out of the room. Waited too long in cold room with nothing but a paper gown only to meet the doctor for the first time. I saw Dr Jewelia Wagner for an annual exam. I expressed some concerns I was having, and she agreed to run some tests. She also agreed that any result not within the standard deviation of normal would be treated with medication. After the results came back, even though the test results were barely within the normal range she uses, she refused to treat my condition. With more research, the Mayo Clinic's range would have made my results NOT normal, but she didn't seem to care. I guess I trust the Mayo Clinic more than this clinic, as they are using antiquated result perimeters. Why would I trust that this clinic is doing anything else correctly? No Thanks. read more

Dr. Block is terrible. I first went to clinic sofia for a check up before trying to get pregnant and wanting to have any sort of suggestions or advice from who would be my pregnancy doctor and Dr. Jewelia Wagner only suggested folic acid (now I know that she could have recommended many other things, among them vitamin D and supplements especially because we were about to start winter.. and there is currently so much scientific research on things we can do before getting pregnant.. that I know now.. but I didn't before). I decided to change to Dr Block for that and other reasons and even though she is more kind she is always in a rush, she is never present, she is not even thinking, she is just responding. I asked her for book recommendations on prenatal nutrition and she didn't knew any title, which to me is hard to believe. And the worst one was when I asked what can I do (after I misscarried) and she said.. there is a superior force.... so, assuming that she was talking about god having something to do with my health and reproductive system, I decided to look for a doctor with a scientific approach instead of a religious one. I found that ignorant and irresponsable. Don't wast your time and money on that clinic. (I apologize for my grammar, English is not my first language) read more
