I have had nothing but good experiences here with the staff and nurses. No issues with making appointments, and lab tests have all been handled timely and easily. I'm a tough stick for blood draws and haven't had issues with lab techs not being able to draw blood. I ADORE my OB at this practice, Dr. Margaret Enadeghe. She is the first OB I've had who's taken the time to listen and respond to every single one of my and my partner's questions. Even when I nervously ask the same question multiple times over several visits! We are never rushed, however long she needs to spend with us to make us feel comfortable and informed, she does. She's a lovely person and a new mom herself, and happy to share her experiences tackling motherhood, which I've really appreciated as I'm becoming a first-time mom as well. Also, for folks who have ED/body dysmorphia issues, Dr. Enadeghe is incredibly sympathetic. I have disordered eating and was really worried I'd be tempted to restrict calories because of pregnancy weight gain. Thankfully, Dr. Enadeghe told me there was no need for me to even LOOK at the scale when they weighed me. She said she would inform me if anything was out of the ordinary, and assured me that the number on the scale wasn't a concern. This approach really helped me and made me much less anxious about my body's changes during pregnancy. I also really like the policies put in place by the clinic. I think they try to stay on top of current academic research and are consistently changing their protocols, instead of just sticking with antiquated methods. Quick example: I'm a research junkie and learned there's relatively new data that states it can be beneficial to the newborn to delay cord cutting after birth. This helps with hemoglobin levels and a bunch of other stuff. I asked Dr. Enadeghe about this and she said it was standard policy for the clinic to delay cord cutting.

Unfortunately, my experience with CCRM has felt no different. If you have the ear of a nurse, support exists but if you don't advocate for yourself, nobody will. Here's why I am so deeply disappointed and honestly heartbroken: Less than a week ago, I met with the Blue Team for my IVF consult. I had joined CCRM about three months earlier and chose to try IUI twice before moving into an IVF protocol. After that consult, the nurse told me to call on cycle day 1 to schedule my baseline ultrasound, bloodwork, and pre-op physical. She also reviewed my stim protocol and ordered our prescriptions. From that point on, our entire focus was on securing our medication for the upcoming cycle.. just days away. When I arrived at the office today, I was told I needed to pay the full outstanding balance for the egg retrieval cycle--nearly $20,000--immediately. My insurance does not cover IVF, so no, I was not shocked by the cost. What I was shocked by was learning that full payment was due at the first appointment. Had someone from the business office contacted me--via message (app), task (app), or phone call--between my consult and today's appointment, I would have been fully prepared. That single communication would have saved me a tremendous amount of time, stress, and heartbreak. Instead, I was offered my first-ever consult with the business office, where I was met with absolutely zero empathy. I was told that today's appointment was "irrelevant" and that a nurse would not be calling me with next steps unless I paid the remaining balance before their office closed, just two hours later. To make matters worse, before my appointment, the front desk staff told me that if I could put something down today, I could pay the remainder by my next visit. I immediately paid $1,500 and had no issue paying the rest, I just needed a few days to move funds between accounts. Instead, I spent three hours driving, undergoing unnecessary ultrasounds and bloodwork, only to be told: Read the fine print. You should have known. Today, CCRM showed me exactly who they are. I feel incredibly stuck because I have already spent over $4,000 on IVF medications. Starting over feels impossible. But for anyone else going through this, I'm so sorry. This process is already hard enough. Emotional enough. CCRM is not it. And honestly, CRM isn't either. These are the "leading" clinics in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, which makes this even more heartbreaking. CCRM describes themselves as offering "compassionate fertility care." What I experienced today was anything but compassionate.

After testing we had a meeting with Dr. Burgart in which she confirmed that my wife's chance of success with her eggs was low. We proceeded to ask her about Donor Embyros and she informed us that CCRM does not do those and that the entire concept was "Wild West" and unregulated. She then pushed for donor eggs. We cancelled our Blue Team meeting and scheduled a Purple Team meeting. Purple Team informed us that CCRM DOES, infact, do Donor Embyros and that they would request us to be added to the waiting list by Dr. Burgart. After this discussion I informed my wife that since they do provide that service there was no reason to be denied, but if we were it would obviously be because it is less profit for CCRM if we chose not to have a batch of embryos created. I found it extremely hard to believe that a doctor there was unaware of a service they provide, but held out hope that she was mistaken. She denied us, despite the fact her original reasoning was incorrect. I do admit that the donor embryo route is cheaper, but we were originally looking at IVF and it was a personal choice for us to go that route. We were lied to and denied and the only real reason that makes any sense is profit on CCRM's part. I firmly believe that they put potential money above success and wishes of the potential parents that enter, and when doing such over something so sacred that is a breach of trust that should serve as a warning for others. I wish others success where we had none, but remember that success is less profitable for CCRM and they have fully established that they the behavior of one of their doctors is questionable. In our case they put profit above our chance for success and wishes.

Long story short after having that shot I never dilated any further , even after waiting 22 hours for that drug to leave my system I was forced to accept having a c-section. I was extremely disappointed and I feel that the doctor knew what the outcome would be giving me that drug. I have spoke to several doctors since then and every single one has been shocked to hear that drug was even given to me , they all said the same thing that terbutaline is ONLY giving to woman in an emergency who are experiencing Pre-term labor NOT for woman in active labor. I want to get my story out there so this never happens to anyone else.

What an incredible experience…read more When I went in for my consultation with Dr. Eileen Zhuo and her assistant, I wasn't even healthily skeptical of Chinese medicine, non-Western practices and acupuncture. I was convinced they didn't work at all. But I also felt like I had nothing to lose. I'd been suffering from severe, two-week-long PMS that basically left me incapacitated, chronically lethargic and sick - for half my life. My period cramps were even worse. I was taking approximately 5-12 Advils a day (200 mg/pill) for several days to combat the cramps, assuring the eventual destruction of my liver. I was prescribed Ketoralac for pain management by my ob/gyn, a medication with a black box warning. Within two weeks of starting acupuncture and taking both kinds of herbs that Zhuo recommended, I was on the mend. The first period after starting acupuncture was without cramps entirely. So was the second. And the third. My PMS started to lift. Or rather, it shifted from severe to mild. Even my intense food cravings disappeared. But oddly, other changes started occurring that nobody at the clinic warned me about. For instance, I now have this incredible, formidable bodily and mental energy that I've never had in my life. Apparently, I'm producing more chi because I'm regaining my health. I have so much energy that I often don't know how to channel it. And my insomnia is practically gone. I always have been a night owl, often taking more than two hours from the time my head hits the pillow to fall asleep. After three months of treatment, I'm sleeping within 15 minutes of laying down, sometimes less. I've never felt more alive or more in control of my life. Not only has this experience changed my mind about non-allopathic healing and Chinese medicine, but it's changed every aspect of everything I do.

I want to share my recent experience with this office. I was contacted by the office manager…read moreregarding their policy that patients who reschedule three times may be dismissed from the practice. During this call, I was informed that this policy is not currently communicated to patients and that there are no plans to proactively share it. That was surprising and concerning to hear. To provide context, during my pregnancy when I was very sick I never missed an appointment and consistently arrived 10 minutes early. I was frequently seen 30-45 minutes after my scheduled time, but I remained patient and understanding, recognizing that delays can happen in medical settings and never complained. More recently, I had to reschedule my annual exam three times over the course of a few months due to circumstances outside of my control: a family emergency, personal illness, and then my child becoming sick. I never no-showed and never canceled the day of an appointment. Despite this, I received a call questioning my reasons for rescheduling, and the tone of the conversation felt unnecessarily rude and accusatory. I do want to emphasize that Dr. Brown has been wonderful, and all of the nurses I've interacted with have been kind and compassionate. My concern is solely with how this policy was communicated and the manner in which the situation was handled. I believe clear communication and mutual respect are essential in a healthcare setting, and I hope this feedback is helpful in improving the patient experience going forward.

I was wary but still came in. She told me that it wasn't PID despite me advocating it was as I know my body and have had it before. She dismissed me several times despite my extreme pain and discomfort. I decided to make another appointment at a different location and to my dismay it was her again. She told me, again, it wasn't PID and again, I intensely advocated for myself. Finally she gave in and said she'd go talk to my actual gyno. She came back in and said "she thinks I'm right and doesn't believe it's PID again". I said that I don't care and would like the medicine anyway. After several minutes of pleading she finally agreed to write me a prescription, and of course, within 5 days my symptoms were gone. I was right. I'm very unhappy with how this was handled. Flash forward to this week and I get a text for a bill from the 2 visits. $880 AFTER INSURANCE. I wouldn't have even had to come in again if she had just diagnosed me correctly in the first place. I will be fighting this charge and am very unhappy with this clinic. Do not see Mackenzie Drimel if you want to be treated with respect and be seen by someone who will actually listen to you.

Well, since University of Minnesota Reproductive Center in Riverview just announced it is closing…read moretheir doors forever (effective May 2015), I thought people should be aware of what their options are in the Twin Cities. When in doubt, follow the reviews... because they are often spot on. I've been hesitant to write a review, as this is obviously a very delicate, sensitive, personal experience, right? Well, last year, I went to the Center for Reproductive Medicine - St. Paul location, and I definitely would NOT recommend it. While I had a decent experience with Dr. Malo (despite his gruff, matter-of-pack personality), I HATED the front desk staff. After a few visits, I changed to University of Minnesota's Reproductive Center. First, when I walked into their office (conveniently located in Inver Grove with lots of ample parking), all I could notice was the disgusting smell of the office. It reeked of old Indian spicy food mixed with stagnant, disgusting body odor. Dude, I thought pregnant women had a more sensitive sense of smell, right? How in the world are you all tolerating this disgusting odor (ever single time I walk in!). The only place that smells good in this office? The bathroom - because there are air fresheners in there. Next, the front desk staff. The one mid-20's blond female that I consistently had at the front desk was an insensitive, unempathatic b*@(). In fact, I'm hoping karma hits her with infertility years to come. When you go through fertility treatment, you need frequent ultrasounds, blood tests, etc. Trying to fit that into a normal working schedule of 8-5 is very difficult, and scheduling with her while you're going through sensitive, delicate time was trying. In fact, being in the customer service, health field myself, I'd fire her if she was my employee. But hey, I believe in good customer service. The nurses: they were great. I only had two (one was Amy), and they were sensitive, sweet, and compassionate. But you know what, the front desk staff turned me away. Avoid this St. Paul location unless you want cold-hearted staff helping you. Sadly, the U's repro center closing dramatically reduces the options in the Twin Cities now - they had AMAZING front desk staff, nurses, etc. This place fails in comparison. Good luck on your journey. Hang in there. And blow off this place.
