Our host, Ron, was so very hospitable and accommodating. The bed was quite comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was light and healthy fare and we had a fantastic conversation with Ron and the other guests. While it was too hot to be outside much, we did tour the gardens and clearly Steve's marvelous landscaping skills are evident. We definitely recommend this to other travelers!

We've even stayed there for a few of my reunions as it is far comfier than a dorm room, particularly in the eyes of my spouse who is a Berkeley grad and not nostalgic about Oberlin dorm life. Built in 1830 in the town that gave rise to the Civil War, this charming B&B, a stop on the Underground Railroad, is a virtual museum of mid-18th century and Victorian American History! (And this place is supposedly haunted by a previous owner!). The current owners Joe and Susan are a wealth of knowledge of the history on the house and the area! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to adults and teens (with adults) of any age! (There are too many antiques around for tiny hands to touch.) Hallauer House is just 4 miles from the heart of Oberlin, but trust me, it will be worth the drive to this gem on the Underground Railroad if you are looking for peace and quiet, an exquisite 5-Star gourmet breakfast, a spa package, a workout room, if you so choose, and delightful hosts who work very hard to make their guests feel warmly welcomed. Considering all the amenities provided by Joe and Susan, I don't think any other area lodging facility could even begin to compare!
