MAIN ROOM Event Center - Anna Agreeing to let balloon vendor in 8 am

    MAIN ROOM Event Center

We had an event on 12/19/21 with cost at entry. Partnering with Anna, we were offered the center…read morefree of charge with complimentary chairs, 1 vendor space, workshop spaces and donated gift certificates for giveaways (never provided). I paid $75 for 1 additional vendor space. I learned 2 days before event, my vendor was exposed to COVID and could not attend. Anna & I communicated constantly and I informed her the vendor was exposed to COVID and could not attend. She offered me a refund (audio text saved). Day before event, Anna provided new assistant (a vendors from her Sunday markets) services. Anna said she would be available as well! Anna authorized us to set up the night prior, our balloon vendors to set up at 8 am the day of event, our DJ to operate without any restrictions, and the back door to remain closed. Handicap guest that required ramp access was the exception. We set up the night before and her assistant (Stephanie owner: O So Perfect Boutique) was extremely rude. Anna was notified after and informed of assistant's conduct. She justified her assistant's actions. I asked for the refund offered for the vendor space I paid for and inquired about missing equipment for set up. Anna did not respond. Day of event, I followed up with Anna and she responded via text stating that she cannot talk or listen to text memos, she could not offer me a refund and that my money was gone because she had expenses too. I responded, begging her to call me and why did the terms of the refund & her disposition change. When I arrived at 8:10 am, I seen my balloon vendor waiting outside along with Anna's vendor. They all were agitated and said they had been yelled at & kicked out by the assistant because it was too early to enter. I banged on the back door while trying to call Anna. Anna did not respond but the assistant opened the back door. I asked why Anna was not responding to my calls and have her call me. The assistant got Anna on her phone but Anna kept rejecting my calls. I noticed that the vendor space I paid for was taken by the assistant for her business. I demanded to have her move her belongings because I had paid for that space. The assistant said my space was sold and I demanded Anna call me. Anna called me and she said she never offered me a refund (audio text proving different); technically I have only 1 space available to me (the paid space); I should not ask for a refund with all the freebies that were provided and interact with her assistant from this point. I informed Anna she was going against the terms of our agreement and this is not right! I hung up the phone and told my team to pack up. I instructed Anna's assistant that we were leaving but after thorough consideration, my team and I decided to stay. I asked for an itemized bill for all the complimentary items that were offered and the assistant said I was not being charged/billed. Some of our chairs were taken, the DJ was instructed to turn down the music because it was too loud, affecting vendor's sales and the back door was opened constantly. I speculate the assistant and her associates were creating these retaliatory acts due to me repossessing the vendor space I paid for and reporting her to Anna. The assistant was no where to be found constantly. People were sneaking in the back without paying. Some of my team kept closing the back door and my husband guarded the area to ensure no one else snuck in. I contacted Anna 2x regarding the back door and my balloon vendor being kicked out. I informed her if that back door was opened again, my team & I were packing up and leaving the event. The back door was re opened & 2 people walked in before the fashion show. After the fashion show & raffle giveaway my team, guest & celebrity speakers packed up & left. Several people entered without paying. We maintained the agreement within the partnership until we were forced to leave due to the callous acts we encountered. I have never endured this type of unprofessionalism, malicious, vile and sabotaging conduct from an establishment.

My event coordinator was always in contact with me to assure everything went as planned. The service the day of the event was impressive. Everyone was very helpful and attentive. I would definitely use this place again for my next event.

Recently, I had my wedding at this venue. I wish I could say it was the best experience but I…read morecannot. Christina Kroeplin. Owner, aka "Coordinator" My experience with her was .. emotionally draining and a great duress to say the very least. My first bad experience with her came the morning I woke up to charges on my invoices. Maybe she didn't think I would notice?! But she certainly never talked to me about it before just adding charges.. I can't say the encounter in asking her was a pleasant one and in fact she refused to directly say WHY there were added charges until much later in the text message argument. She cites that her website says they charge for credit charges. Which if you go to www.TheRanchOnVintonRd.com you'll see, there really isn't much to even see on said website.. Despite this, I still called her and apologized and to squash it. However, Mrs. Kroeplin talked circles around me and broke me down so much all I could do was just cry and agree to everything she was saying. She made statements such as, "You didn't ask the right questions," "If you're unhappy you can cancel." It was 2 weeks out from my wedding and if I had canceled, I would have lost every single cent we put into the wedding. This venue also doesn't supply ice. Which was told to me only 2 days before the event. AFTER We were completely tapped out of money by this point. Im not sure why it's appropriate to expect the bride & groom to supply ice for a venue?!(Oh the venue can.. but for an additional fee!) In order to have ice someone had to leave the property to go get the ice. Day of the wedding, Mrs. Kroeplin was nowhere to be found. She finally made an appearance during our photo sessions, then where she went, I have no idea. What I do know, is it's 7pm and she's not coordinating my wedding. Mrs. Kroeplin was emailed an iternary and even previously promised me, "It will all be fine," "I got this" "Don't worry" Yet, my dear husband was downstairs coordinating 45 minutes after this wedding was supposed to start, because she did not. One of my guests, who was not even in the wedding party, went to go track Mrs. Kroeplin down to get her to do her job! Nearly 2 weeks after my wedding, I haven't recieved any calls, text, emails, or even an invoice. I text Mrs. Kroeplin politely asking how she would be refunding my damage deposit I left. To which she replies, "things were missing" I proceed to leave several emails, over the coarse of a few days, politely asking for photos and basically proof that any items were removed from the property. Mrs. Kroeplin did NOT provide such proof. Matter of fact, She texted me random photos off her iphone. She then after, emails this completely arbitrary list saying; 4 cups, a pillowcase, a white container set, and 4 stick ponies were the missing items. None of the above items, even if they were stolen, total an amount close to $400. And trust me when I say we didn't steal anything because to steal those items, I would have to look at them nearly everyday and be reminded of this horrible experience Mrs. Kroeplin flat out had the gall to say my flower centerpiece belonged to her. No, I paid for them. $264 actually. It shows that on my invoice where it says, "keepsake centerpieces." Which brings me to the insult to injury. After being accused of these items, I received another email flat out insinuating my bridesmaid stole her "$300 and up" sunglasses. My bridesmaid is a well known respected doctor who flew in from Dallas. Who also can easily afford Michael Kors glasses. Why on earth would she want yours?? After I asked for a receipt and you "had to go to sunglass hut to get one" I asked around and was told you should have a warranty for such expensive glasses. So I'm happy to hear that if you lost your glasses you can replace them under your warranty! I might also add that You, Gary and your staff was on hand and posted up at the exit so if anyone tried to take anything, it would have been noticed. Mr. Kroeplin even walked us to our car when we packed up to leave the next day. This venue has alot of promise but very obviously has alot of bugs to work out. Unfortunately I was left with having to report to the BBB all of this information. I hope future weddings will not have go through this disaster. And to Mrs. Kroeplin, at this point I do not want my $400 back. You very obviously need it more than me or my family does. But please remember, one day you will have to stand before the Lord and give account of this...

Sad to have to say that this was a horrible experience…read more Such a cute place but not cute enough to be treated as I was by the owner. A very long story to how she ended up overcharging me but after admitting and agreeing to reimburse me $500, she basically decided to not live up to that. She charged for everything additional she could think of. All the charges that I knew about I happily paid. She charged me like 150 to do slide show yet The screen was unstable the whole time so it was blowing (she said she forgot to tell me to bring sand bags) and the pictures didn't fit screen, she started slideshow 45 past time because she said her connection wasn't working. I still paid for that "service" with no argument. She charged to have a photo area and use her Polaroid, but little did I know that meant her 7 yr old daughter would be taking the pictures. Of nothing I actually wanted but ran through the film that she also charged for. Paid for all that great "service" The s'mores weren't an addional charge they were just a part of the package offered but unfortunately the marshmallows were harder than rocks and nobody was even able to enjoy them. All of this I was willing to look past till after already paying her 500 cash towards the party, she still allowed a family member to pay for the party in "full" totally a charge to her credit card of 1100. Now realize the party came to an end price (after all her extras) of a little over 800 I had paid 500, so that night I owed her about 300 but she charged the relatives credit card 1100!!! Again long story to all this but basically again after getting it all figured out we came up with the new charge and then she agreed to pay the 500 cash back which never happened. I was very saddened to see someone do business this way. I'm not one to give bad reviews but I can't in clear Conscience not say something to possibly help someone else avoid going through what she put me through. She Completly ruined the night for me at my daughters graduation party.

Yesterday, was not my first time here, but one of many. I only resided in Anthony for about 18 months. Post 122 provided me a place I could go to decompress and swap military stories with fellow veterans and their guests. I recently stopped by a couple of months ago, after I moved to El Paso, just to see how things were and to my amazement the place was remodeled. They finally added an AMI jukebox, to include the ability to run credit and debit cards. In addition, they've also installed a pool table as well. The bar itself seats about 10-15 people and there's tables in the general area. Parking is great and have handicapped stalls directly in the front. There is a rental hall, which is quite large. I've posted a picture of the rental hall information. I'm very pleased to see this post come around. So, if your in the local Anthony, TX/NM area, stop by and wet your whistle and most importantly, support your veterans!

Also, the food was really good and we had the chance to taste what we wanted. Again, I can't stress enough how good of a choice we made when choosing this place for our wedding. The service, aesthetics, food, value and vibe were excellent! I 100% recommend Los Portales!!

Though other venues may offer many different things, we really fell in love with Los Portales when we, luckily, came across it. The beautiful architecture and open landscaping made for the perfect location and backdrop for our Fall wedding. We also loved, and appreciated, the history and story behind the structure itself. We are not local to the area but working with Oscar leading up to our wedding was extremely easy and left us very care-free. We had regular check-ins with him to ensure everything was progressing as planned. He also offered several helpful suggestions for local retailers that were knowledgable and reliable. Once it go to the week of our wedding, Alvaro was also a great deal of help with finalizing some of those last-minute details. The serving staff were also fantastic. Throughout the evening, they made sure all guests had full glasses and were quick to clear tables when necessary. This was something we were not expecting, resulting in it being a very pleasant surprise. Again, my fiancé (now wife) and I could not have been happier with the beautiful setting that the Los Portales venue provided for our special day. Two suggestions for prospective couples considering having their wedding here: - Request to meet with the day-of coordinator prior to the actual date of your wedding. This will definitely help to ensure they are aware of who each person in the wedding party is and who should be contacted if concerns come up. - Share open communication with the DJ surrounding the songs, or specific music, you'd like to be played.

Then you have Benir who is in charge of the food and bakery. My husband was in charge of selecting the food and the cake and they instantly hit it off. She kept the process of selecting the food and cake fun and easy. She designed our cake for us because we had no idea what we wanted it to look like. It was awesome and tasted even better! We then decided to cancel the venue and get married closer to where I live so my grandfather could be there. We reached out to the venue instantly. We expressed our understanding that we canceled so we were at their mercy. However, we would appreciate if we could get a portion of our money back for our wedding (not a full refund because again, we understand how these things work). They aggressively said no and went on a tangent. Now if we canceled a month before the wedding, I would be more forgiving of this behavior. However, we canceled almost a year out and they refuse to show any decency for our situation. Life deals bad cards sometimes and it's unfortunate that we were forced to cancel but it's saddening to know that there are people out there that can take so much money from a young couple that's fallen on hard times and not think twice about it. We don't have much. A small refund would have helped immensely. TLDR: If you book with this venue. Don't do it too far out because if something bad happens and you have to cancel, you will not be met with grace. No matter how far out your cancelation is..
