Our two dogs were groomed for the third time at Animal Oasis. My daughter and I were pleased until…read morethis last visit with them. Our precious fourteen year old female was called beautiful and had pics taken of passerby's. When we picked her up after her being there for three hours or more ( every visit the same amount of time ) we just wanted to get them home. With her we noticed immediately her " beautiful fan tail " was no more. Her hind leg had been shaved to the bone. The shaver got away from one of their employees and that employee was not honest enough to report it. And if it was reported to his or her employer when we picked up our precious dog the incident was ignored and she was handed over to us like nothing ever happened. Now, a few months later she still has the large bald spot on the back of her hind leg where no hair has grown.. Her tail is completely butchered it hasn't grown out to its " beautiful fan wave" for a Collie after all this time. " I cant imagine what she was put through" being there! Our two year old male dog the most loving ever had his face completely missed his beard went over his lip. I trimmed it myself. I'm grateful our male dog hadn't gone through the trauma our precious female had gone through. I personally feel that someone there ( management) should be taking responsibility by checking while dogs are being groomed by ( newbies ) or any employee in any manner. I feel my female dog was left with a newbie and was not given the attention to this employee that he or she needed with managing. My daughter and I were under the impression that the woman that met us outside( same woman that groomed twice before ) asked how we'd like their grooming taken care of would be the one attending to both our dogs we trusted her grooming since she had done both our dogs twice before and we were happy with their outcome We had made recommendations to friends about Animal Oasis.We put our trust in the woman who greeted us who seemed interested in our concerns towards their grooming. This business failed my dogs and us. We should have looked at the grooming before paying the $100.00 per dog and not given the tips. I've never had to write up a complaint I waited hoping my female dog would grow her beautiful hair back to its original shape " Not" ! The Animal Oasis deserves this complaint. If you go to Animal Oasis after my complaint ask questions like who will be attending fully to my animal and look carefully after the work has been completed to your satisfaction before tipping. Get names, your dog is part of your loving family and should be treated like so.

Britt has been absolutely wonderful with our fur babies. She takes great care of them, and we truly appreciate the love, patience, and care she puts into what she does. From the bath, blow-dry, anal glands, ears and nails to their cuts, she takes care of everything -- and her prices are very reasonable for all that she provides. After three years of coming here, we've always been happy with the way our doggos look and feel when they come home. I only wish I had remembered to take before-and-after pictures because they always come out looking so fresh and clean! It's not just about getting them groomed -- it's knowing they're being cared for by someone we trust. That means a lot to us. Until today, every single experience had been five stars. I've recommended them to friends and never hesitated to make the trip because they've always taken great care of my dog. That's why what happened on July 16 was so disappointing. My dog's appointment was at 8:00 a.m. I left Tahoe City with a 15-minute buffer, but ran into three separate construction zones on the West Shore that delayed me by more than 30 minutes. As soon as I realized I was going to be late, I called and left a message. When they called me back, I explained the situation. I was told something along the lines of, "If you're 25 minutes late, it will interfere with the next appointments, but we'll do what we can." At that point I was still about 20 minutes away from the shop. That response was unclear, so I specifically asked, "Should I bring her in or should I cancel?" I was told to go ahead and bring her in. Had they simply told me they would only have time for a bath and blow dry, I would have turned around immediately and rescheduled. Instead, I continued the drive because I reasonably believed they were still going to fit in the full grooming. I arrived around 8:20 a.m., dropped my dog off, and went to get breakfast. Less than an hour later, they called and said my dog would be ready in 15 minutes. That immediately caught me off guard because her appointments normally take 2 1/2 to 3 hours. When I returned, I was charged $100. Confused, I asked if my dog had been groomed. I was told, "No, we bathed, brushed, and blow-dried her." That's the problem. Before I completed the drive, I specifically asked whether they would still have time to groom my dog. Instead of giving me a clear yes or no, I was given vague answers and told to bring her anyway. Had they simply told me they could only do a bath and blow dry, I would have canceled the appointment on the spot. Instead, I drove around the lake in the middle of July, lost half a workday, and paid over $100 for a service I never intended to book. I fully acknowledge that I was 20 minutes late. It wasn't out of disrespect or poor planning. I left early and still got caught in multiple construction delays. My issue isn't that they couldn't accommodate a late arrival. My issue is that they had every opportunity to clearly tell me, while I was still 20 minutes away, that they would not be able to complete the grooming. Instead, they told me to bring my dog in, accepted my dog, and then charged me over $100 for a service I never agreed to. This review is especially difficult to write because I've always thought highly of Dog Wash of Tahoe. That's exactly why today's experience was so disappointing. A simple, honest conversation would have prevented all of this. Instead, after years of being a loyal customer, I left feeling misled. I sincerely wish this had been handled differently. Unfortunately, because of the way this situation was handled, I won't be returning, and I can no longer recommend Dog Wash of Tahoe.

Upon arrival, Michael contacts you to ensure he's parked in an appropriate location. He spends time with your dog to ensure the best grooming possible and he's so thorough and talented . Also, pricing is extremely reasonable considering the fact that you're paying for a person who truly cares about the work they do, the attention to detail, making your pup feel safe, and overall just amazing service/care. We really appreciate Michael and can't wait to have our doggos go to him again.
