I haven't been to Oasis literally since 2014 when I turned 18 then I left for college and never got a chance to go again. I don't know if y'all been before they remodeled but it is only one room now. Not 2 like it use to be. But they def have made some very positive changes. THEY ARE NOW BLACK OWNED!! I was very happy to hear that. Spending my black dollars in a black establishment! The guy who check us in was very nice and personable and i told him that I was calling multiple times before I came to make sure they were open but their phone was disconnected so they should check that. But everything else was a vibeeee! The music was good. The hookah was pulling (20$ for 1 flavor) and me and my best friend damn near had the place to our selves. It's up the street from U OF M. The Oasis isn't really a club, so much as it is a smoking lounge. In order to get in, you have to be 18 years old and purchase a membership that's good for one year. Here's how it works: choose a tobacco flavor from the Oasis' list (they've got more than 50 flavors) and a number of hoses. Take a seat on one of the couches, and in a few minutes, the staff will bring a huge water pipe with long snaking hoses to you. They'll drop a hot coal on top of a foil-wrapped packet of tobacco and give you sanitary tips for the hoses. The rest is up to you. I shared a hookah with cinnamon tobacco with my friend Tracy. The flavor wasn't overpowering and it went well with my cappuccino (The Oasis doesn't serve alcohol). The Oasis is easily one of the quietest, most laid back social spaces in Memphis. People were hanging out on the couches, smoking and talking or working on laptops. Two guys near us were having a bit of a smoke ring competition. Even though most people were smoking, they were smoking hookahs, not cigarettes, which kept the club from smelling like a bar at last call. The Oasis is open from 12 p.m. - 1 a.m. Sunday - Thursday, and 12 p.m. - 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. This is a really popular high school/college hangout. It's 18+ -- doesn't serve alcohol, but has a good selection of hookah flavors. The hookah is so-so. The atmosphere here is really chill; it's a good place to go hang out for hours, talk, and play board games. Also right down the street from bars on the Highland strip. Came on Sunday 3/12 to have Hookah with cousins at 11:00pm and they were closed! All doors locked but they said they're opened daily and the open sign was lit. What a waste of time. read more

Great Concept terrible customer service! I own a restaurant and customer service is paramount. We ordered or hookah and the guy forgot about us for 20+ minutes. We were asked to remove our outside drinks which is understandable and stated on signs. We notified the gentleman that others had outside drinks and he said "I didn't see it" and "we could ask them to remove the cup". He never came out and told them they couldn't have their cups. We then had an issue with our hookah smoking correctly. When we asked the waitress for assistance she said, "I'm on break could you wait a second". I love hookah bars bit absolutely won't be returning to this one! read more

Honestly hookah is alright. I guess. It will fuck you up with a headache however. so watch out. Also dont order there food. straight up tyson chicken lookin ahh. But other than that it was a decent place to pass a few hours after class my senior year. But really the parking lot we hungout at right next to it was where we spent most of our time. I go there a lot and, most of the time, it's beautiful and I love it. But... some of the staff is rude and immature. I've had people give me bad hoses or coals just because I was with a cute guy or because of something a friend of mine had said months prior. The owner is racist and sexist and has openly called friends of mine derogatory terms or said that they needed to stop dating black guys. The hookah is great but the staff is unprofessional. read more
