Stepping into the cigar bar feels like slipping into a well-dressed time machine that decided to…read moreloosen its tie. The air hums with the scent of tobacco, oak, and good decisions made slowly. Plush couches and deep leather chairs form little islands of comfort, perfect for sinking into a conversation that doesn't need to end soon. Along the walls, humidors stand like treasure chests, keeping their cigars in stately silence. Vintage wood glows everywhere--from the bar's polished surface to the beams above--each grain steeped in quiet history. Overhead, TVs flicker with old games and new ones alike, while dart boards wait nearby for a little friendly competition between sips of bourbon and curls of smoke. The bartender slides the Old Fashioned across the bar with the precision of a man who's been doing it long enough to know that showmanship is for amateurs. No fancy garnish, no chatter--just the soft clink of glass meeting wood and a nod that says this'll do. Happiness here isn't loud or glittery--it's slow-burning and pleasantly lopsided, like a jazz tune played just slightly off the beat. It seeps in between sips and smoke rings, wrapping itself around you like the worn leather of the chair you've claimed for the night. It's the kind that finds you sitting still, glass half full, smoke curling upward like a satisfied sigh. Cheers!

I want to love this place and I have tried, but management has made it a bit difficult. For…read morestarters, the lounge needs a bit more ventilation. If you have more than 3-4 people in there it's practically like a hotbox more liken to what you'd see at a concert from a fog machine. The next biggest issue I've had here is their hours. They don't actually have any real hours, it's kind of just whenever they feel like closing they close especially if it's not busy. One time I showed up a few minutes before 8 with a buddy an we were told they were closing. We brought up the fact that we checked their own website and it said 10pm before we drove half an hour. We were told the website was wrong. Another time we show up on a Friday around 9pm and they are scheduled to close at 11pm. Again, we were told they were closing early around 9:30p and asked to leave. I find not keeping to your posted hours really unprofessional even if it's only 1 or 2 customers. And the hours on your website and door should always be up to date as well as Google, Yelp and Apple Maps which is where 90% of people are going to check. It's easy to sign up for a manager account on those sites. The crowd here can be really really weird. One day a buddy and I were smoking in the rocking chairs outside when we were approached by someone who entered via the gate and asked if they could sit with us (note I said sit, not join). We accepted. They then promptly invited all of their friends to join one by one as they arrived and pretty much pushed us out of the table and wouldn't really speak to us--apparently the rocking chairs are coveted and we were in "their" spot. On top of all that, every one of them brought a travel humidor, not a single one went inside and bought anything. I've seen this group here many times and I've never seen them inside to get a drink or a cigar or anything. Very strange. Finally, if you compare this place to Apex Cigar lounge it just seems small and dirty. Apex has better ventilation and lighting in the lounge. Their outside areas are nicer and much cleaner. Their humidor is twice the size. And more importantly...they keep the hours they post on their site even if you are the only person there. Heck, I've been there after hours just chilling and smoking with the staff.

I rarely give a 5 star rating... but this place is the closest that I have seen in a while…read more They are a gem in that area if you are a cigar smoker and/or craft beer drinker It is located on a main road and has its own parking area. The owner greeted us and was very nice and friendly. This business is very veteran supportive. Along with major cigar brands, they support veteran owned cigar makers like Southern Draw and Carolina Cigar Company. In addition, several of the beers on tap come from veteran owned breweries. They have an indoor and outdoor seating area. The outdoor area is heated. There is a $5 per year cost to smoke there. The owner, Eric, explained their rationale for that. The indoor area is nice and they have music playing. There are no sports or news stations allowed on the TV. Eric told us that their are plans to have speakers placed around for better sound and volume control. Like I said they are not perfect and are working on things, but overall this place is excellent I wish I lived closer.... And i wish they did on line ordering, but that may come later he said. Go here and check it out!!!

The days of pounding shots in bars are long behind me and not fun anymore. But a cigar lounge and a glass of whiskey feels relaxed and more sophisticated. The Smoke & Oak has been on my wish list list for a while and I'm happy I finally went! The location is nondescript, looking like a normal house from the street were it not for the sign. Street parking was not difficult to find. Inside, the ambiance is great. Soft warm lighting, ample plush leather chairs for seating, attractive displays of cigars and a huge selection of whiskeys. The staff are passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly and made great recommendations. Walking in as a complete novice felt intimidating, and they made it much easier than I expected. I was taught basic terminology and options on pairings. Pricing felt reasonable and fair. The atmosphere was extremely laid back and relaxing. Socializing and networking with the other men was fun. I'll absolutely come back and you should too.

I love coming here because I feel so welcomed and after a while it begins to feel like Cheers where everyone knows your name. I particularly love Southerlands because it's conveniently located close to Stock and Grain Food Hall in High Point. It's literally a 2 min drive. This spot has all the vibes, wonderful music, friendly staff and occasionally a food truck. Even though I don't always smoke a cigar, I appreciate that when you walk inside, you don't instantly smell it so strongly. I've been to other cigar lounges and the cigar smoke can be a lot. Y'all know I absolutely love a good cocktail. The bartenders are wonderful and the drink selections are plenty. Even if you don't see something on the menu you would like, they can make you anything. I appreciate how accommodating they are as well. Whether I come during the week (they started $5 drink specials on Wednesdays) I can pull up and have a drink and bring my laptop or come on a Friday for Ladies Night and have a DJ spin and I'm on the dance floor. Whatever you are feeling, they have it. You also never know who you're going to meet. I think it's also a great place for networking. They do have options if you'd like to do a private event or celebrate something special. There is plenty of space and a very large parking lot. I'll have to update you all on the cigars when I go next time. They've been in business about 3 years and I want it to stay around. Please support this local establishment. You will not be disappointed. I hope when you come that you make a friend or two because I definitely have. Be sure to follow on IG at Southerlandscigarlounge for updates and specials during the week.
