Friendly crowd, speakeasy atmosphere, good cigar selection. Outdoor deck would be good on a sunny afternoon.

Stepping into the cigar bar feels like slipping into a well-dressed time machine that decided to…read moreloosen its tie. The air hums with the scent of tobacco, oak, and good decisions made slowly. Plush couches and deep leather chairs form little islands of comfort, perfect for sinking into a conversation that doesn't need to end soon. Along the walls, humidors stand like treasure chests, keeping their cigars in stately silence. Vintage wood glows everywhere--from the bar's polished surface to the beams above--each grain steeped in quiet history. Overhead, TVs flicker with old games and new ones alike, while dart boards wait nearby for a little friendly competition between sips of bourbon and curls of smoke. The bartender slides the Old Fashioned across the bar with the precision of a man who's been doing it long enough to know that showmanship is for amateurs. No fancy garnish, no chatter--just the soft clink of glass meeting wood and a nod that says this'll do. Happiness here isn't loud or glittery--it's slow-burning and pleasantly lopsided, like a jazz tune played just slightly off the beat. It seeps in between sips and smoke rings, wrapping itself around you like the worn leather of the chair you've claimed for the night. It's the kind that finds you sitting still, glass half full, smoke curling upward like a satisfied sigh. Cheers!

There is waiter service at the lounge tables. I enjoy the bar service: plenty of seats and friendly bartenders. Old Bull Apartments residents have it best. I was very excited to try this place based on so many wonderful yelp reviews and I am thrilled to…read moresay that you were all absolutely correct. We LOVED our visit to The Waiting Room. I took off early and came here early on a Wednesday night with my aunt (we were going to try another restaurant on Tobacco Road later that evening for dinner.) This is a very definite speakeasy vibe here...the art deco decor is amazing. My eyes were thrilled before we even sat down. We had our pick of places since we got there right as they opened. Our waitress came over and was so pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. I cannot wait to bring my uncle back to enjoy some new bourbons. I started with a Wake Up Holland and my aunt had a chocolate martini (not on the menu but the bartender understood the assignment!) Wake Up Holland is 100% worth the hype. I LOVED IT. But since I was worried about the caffiene, I tried The Smoking Jacket next. It wasn't really my favorite...it tasted like a campfire which I know some people enjoy but it wasn't my jam. The waitress was very astute and mentioned that they could make the Wake Up Holland in decaf and I rejoiced!!! And ended the evening with that. The service, ambiance, and drinks were all stellar and I cannot wait to return to this establishment!

Christmas time is beautiful, as they decorate the ceiling with garments and ornaments and other decorations around the massive restaurant, but reservations are needed no later than 6 months in advance. If you're fine waiting 3 hours for a table max, then you will be fine. Every single time we come to Angus Barn, something is different. Now they give you a soup or salad with your meal, along with bread! The cheese and crackers are famous among the people and are a great way to start your meal. The bread is so fresh also! All components in their house salad is great. Everything is awesome! The prime rib is tender and has such good flavor. Their mac n' cheese is the way to go. Their recipe is constantly changing. Like what I previously said, something is different every time you come to Angus Barn. The chocolate chess pie is the best I've had. This is a MUST when dining at Angus Barn. You HAVE to get the chocolate chess pie. The service is some of the best in the restaurant business and all do a great job at explaining things. So kind and professional! Once again, if you're around Raleigh and don't come to Angus Barn, you are missing out. I highly recommend you come. So good!

A restaurant is a few doors down. An acquaintance Trey suggested this event as he was hosting a Puff & Pour Edition for the Pre-Grand-Opening. Service: I approached the bar and asked about the wine tasting we had purchased. The bartender pointed us to that area. I tried various wines that I enjoyed. I now have a new favorite (pictured) which I had never tried. I ordered a Titos Moscow mule from the bar, which was pretty tasty, and as usual, the mule was a refreshing cool down from the dry red wines that kept me warm. Lol One of the owners came over and introduced himself, and chatted with almost everyone. Oasis is a great place to unwind and relax after a stressful day, even if you don't smoke. There were a variety of smokers and nonsmokers there enjoying the scene, the cigars, the wine tasting, and the full bar. The crowd was a mature bunch. It was not too crowded. The smoke ventilation here is top-tier. For the $8 paid, I had so many wines poured, and a enjoyed every bit. No complaints, this experience exceeded my expectations, and I'm Thankful to have discovered another gem in every sense. #ThankYouThursday

General construction of walls, insulation, ceilings, and indoor spaces does not take into account the seepage and effects of smoke transfer. Unless you construct a space from the ground up to hermetically seal every vertical and horizontal surface and joint; no amount of HEPA filtration can prevent smoke, smells, and vapors from transferring to other spaces beyond the walls and ceiling. Oasis needs to re-evaluate their location and choose one that allows for social enjoyment of their clientele while respecting the clientele and preferences of neighboring business not wishing to share in cigar smoke.
