They were hired for all air vents and a dryer cleanout on a 2,000 sq. ft. house, and particularly a bad smell coming in the laundry room. On the day of the cleaning Chris and Lee arrived during the agreed upon time window. I showed Lee around the house to the various vents and asked questions about the places I couldn't fully clear a path to the vent. The house's vents hadn't been cleaned during the time I've owned the place so it needed significant work. The same applied for the dryer. The cleaning took roughly 3 hours. I think they did a good job and made sure to take care of cleaning any messes their work caused. The one exception was the dryer blow-out which was left under the outdoor vent. My single gripe was that the final price ended up $100 over the original quote without discussion. However, it was clear that they had a lot of work to do that couldn't have been known without taking a look at things.

I was told they did the location, which was not too far from the previous location. DUSTOUT was a small company of 3 or 4 people, including the owner when I had my parents' ducts cleaned, and there was no answering service back in January. In fact, I spoke with the owner himself, who was helpful and knowledgable. In that they were a small company, I wanted to help them by making a point to give them a good review for good service. Fast forward to now, they have a whole answering service apparatus with a phone tree. Everyone loves an answering service with a phone tree! /s So I left a message with the details of the new job. They said they would call back. They didn't. I called *three more times* over the space of a week. I emailed the owner. Nothing. Crickets. I asked if they had new ownership and they said, "no". I asked for an estimate like last time, and now they tell me that they don't give estimates before they arrive. Now, one is supposed to allow them to come and they will tell you how much the job is after they arrive to do the job. (?) Who would agree to that? Not sure what to believe about DUSTOUT now. I have *still* not received a call back. I have not received an email back. So I hired another small company. I'll keep you guys posted on the job he does. I guess DUSTOUT used to be great, but I have no idea what is going on at this company now. I guess I'd say avoid DUSTOUT until they can get their act together. ***CERTIFICATION: They are no longer listed at the NADCA website as being "NADCA certified air duct cleaners" as of 3/23/26. Their promises of potential utility savings are understandably vague, Our 35 year old home is well insulated and with quality windows, does not have ducts passing through unheated crawl space or attic. Month to month and even year over year it is hard to precisely measure energy use and savings because each season and year has varying temperatures. However, overall after three years of experience, I believe that sealing ductwork improved our comfort and HVAC efficiency and it was a good longterm investment.

Took my rugs to the Clarkston, MI store after calling in to get a price quote. The lady I spoke to…read moreon the phone quoted me $99 for cleaning and deodorizing of an 8x10 rug and a second of similar size free and they'd be done in 7-10 days. I read the lady the exact specs off of the rug so she had all the correct info to provide a quote. I get to the store, the rudest employee ever told me that it would be almost $350. I could go buy new rugs for that price. After arguing in the store for 30 minutes they finally agreed to lower it to $150 and I only agreed to that because I went to all the trouble of dragging it to the store. Now its over 14 days later, I still don't have my rugs and when you call to get an answer you can only call an 800 number and talk to customer service. Who keeps transferring me around to extensions that don't answer. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else.
