I asked about this and COVID sorta killed it. * No pen and paper in the rooms anymore. * Sink had the tiniest stream ever to it. * Shower was 90% faucet water no matter how I pulled on the thing. Those were what's noticeable. Now for the upsides: * Slept really well. Bed had a firm mattress with some give to it, ideal. * Shower was still powerful enough to wash me - I've had worse with 100% streams working. * Fridge worked. Woo. * Friendly staff despite the lack of breakfast. So... since sleep is king at a hotel to me, I'll give the benefit of 3 stars despite the issues I had with my room. To be fair, I could have tried to switch rooms, but no guarantee the others would do any better or would have other issues. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't, as they say. In the end, it got me through the night and I have no way to compare this to other places in Ridgecrest. If you're a regular, maybe this helps you compare to your previous place! Good luck!

AKA Hotel Europa and formerly Travel Lodge. **Reviews still coming up under TL for this address are deceiving because property has aged since that ownership. Room 201 Pros: it appears they are trying to improve: new toilet, laminate flooring, TV, paint on walls. Mattress OK. Hair dryer worked. Cons: everything else is old. Tile floor in bath area cracked. Floor needs a good cleaning, dust and dirt fill the corners. Electrical wiring coming out of wall along baseboards. Bath faucet leaked w/ steady stream. Front door and all baseboards grimy. And the dealbreaker: although I looked upon check-in, I didn't look well enough... woke up to a few round red circles across my chest. Pulled back mattress / box spring cover to find I had been unwilling dinner guest for a BED BUG. Only found one, but I was grossed out at that point and stopped looking. The museum also sponsors docent led hikes on China Lake Naval base to see an extensive collection of ancient petroglyphs spread along Little petroglyph trail, 1.5 miles of non stop native American rock art down a dry creek bed. You need to be in pretty good shape to manage the rocky trail and go through a fairly extensive security check to gain access and early sign up is required, but we all agreed the hike was worth it. The docents at the museum are very helpful and run a movie on the petroglyphs on request.
