We used A Cut Above for a bridal party wine trip several weeks ago. Shawn (the owner) was very friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us a great rate on a stretch Yukon. Our trip was a Friday so I'm sure this helped snag a deal. Prior to our trip, Shawn called to confirm and see if I had any questions he could help with. With everything else going on that week, I LOVE that he took the time to make sure we were set for the experience. We discussed pickup time and location, and the stops we'd be making in Paso Robles. On the day of, I was surprised that Shawn himself was our driver but also pleased because I could finally put a face to the voice. He was right on time and the limo was stocked with ice, soda, water, and bubbles as promised. We were planning 16 passengers but an extra showed up and it was a little tight (due to several larger guests). Our extra body gladly sat up front and we were on our way. Note - the website does say the Yukon could fit 18 but take into account the size of your guests! The was an oversight on my part. We arrived a little early to our 1st destination which was great to get out, stretch our legs, and enjoy the views. Each stop was just as easy and Sean was on hand to help guests in and out as well as make sure we had plenty of ice water stocked up! On the way home, we had to stop for a restroom and had no issues. We ran a little over time but he didn't charge us for it. We really had a great day and A Cut Above Limousine played a huge role in that! July 14th, 2017... A few ladies from work planned a day trip to Paso Robles for a wine tour and rent a limo. One of the ladies at work was the one who did all the planning and set up rental with A Cut Above Limousine. She had previously planned one with her friends and used the same limo service. We were given the red Yukon which holds 18 passengers and was given a sweet deal. So we all decided drive to her house, leave our cars there and the limo can pick us up at her house... it was the perfect plan for easy pick up and drop off and to save time and we can maximize our time in Paso and maybe hit more wineries. Reservations were made at wineries of our choice and we had thrown in one last minute stop at another winery close by since we had some extra time before heading back home. Everything started great... we poured mimosas as we head out of town and we were all having a great time. Our driver was awesome and knew where all the wineries we planned to go were. Up until later that day when the temperature started getting warmer, the limo isn't cooling down inside enough for us to be comfortable. We thought maybe when we are heading back home, it will get cooler. We thought maybe because we have been stopping and going so often, it just wasn't cooling off enough because we were stopped most the time at a winery so it wasn't enough time for the a/c to cool off inside. But we were dead wrong! The way home was terrible! It never cooled down inside... in fact, we were burning and getting over heated inside the limo, we had to roll windows down... the only 2 windows that open which were the windows on both doors at the back of the stretched Yukon! We tried to enjoy the rest of our drive home but it was just hard to do so when you are overheating inside a limo feeling like you're in a hot moving oven baking & sweating! Prior to writing this review, I read other reviews and wished we knew about the a/c issue on the red Yukon so we could have refused to used that one. I hope they have fixed the issue since. If they haven't, be warned and skeptical about renting it especially in the hot summer months. The a/c can't keep the limo cool enough during the hot weather. It may be alright when it's cooler as we started our day just fine... we didn't have any issues until it got warmer later that day. read more

Called last minute to get a white limo for my nephew's wedding the day of the wedding. Shawn responded to my call and we agreed on price and time and gave him my credit card info over the phone without even signing any contracts. I was a bit nervous at first because we didn't have any written proof of my order and was just hoping that nothing would go wrong. The limo ended up being on time, it was the exact limo that he had described and the one that was pictured on their website, a 10 seater white 2016 Chrysler 300. Inside of the car still smelled brand new, was very nice and super clean. I definitely had a great experience and the bride and groom loved it! read more

We wanted to have a good time for my Bosses B.day to Drive to LA and have a nice dinner. the Limos AC was not even cold upon entering then an hour later broke down.We had to pull over on the Grape Vine, Keep in Mind it was *104 Degrees and we had elderly people aboard. My Back along with my co-workers was drenched in sweat and they took it as if we were over reacting. I was embarrassed drenched in sweat in my nice clothes going to a very nice restaurant. Also there was ROACHES in the Floor board. GROSS ! DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE. YOU WILL REGRET IT ! read more

I hired A Cut Above Limosine for my daughter's 40th birthday cruise from Port of LA. I booked through them because of the great price and the fact that they could accommodate 18 women with luggage. I had never booked a limo before and got several prices from Bakersfield and Los Angeles. We ended up with only 17 women. Sean assured me that they would have enough room even if they had to put luggage in the front seat. They picked up 4 women in Bakersfield and then headed to Taft for the remaining 13. My girlfriend called enroute and was concerned about the luggage. I assured her that we would have enough room, NOT. They already had luggage piled inside when they arrived in Taft with no idea what to do with the rest. We ended up knee to knee and side to side in the limo with our feet on luggage. If that wasn't bad enough the drive had to turn the AC off when we climbed the grapevine. It was sweltering. The drive, Michael, was amazing and very helpful, but he could not make a difference to the accommodations. On the return trip, 4 days later, from LA, we again had the same limo! Thank goodness the 4 Bakersfield women arranged other transportation, thank you Southwest Signs!! Another 4 women drove back with 2 women who had vehicles in LA. The return trip was really no more comfortable. We had more leg room, but the luggage was still on the seats and floor. The AC still had to be turned off going up hill. I called when we return and Sean was not really concerned with our concerns and offered no apologies. read more

It was my 51st bday a group of us wanted to enjoy a fun ride to LA for a nice dinner. Keep in mind my almost 70 yr old mom and aunt went with us. Upon entering the stretch Yukon we assumed it would cool down as we drove. Well it DID NOT cool off, we were drenched in sweat and could NOT enjoy ourselves due to the heat. We had to pull over in Valencia because the air ended up going completely OUT! My elderly mom and aunt were about ready to faint! We all were for that matter! We were going to a very nice restaurant and had to walk in hot, smelly and sweaty. It was a horrible ride AND there was even a roach on the floor board! I DO NOT recommend them! It ruined my bday, The owner refused a partial refund and claims the air works! Do NOT use them!! If I could give 0 stars I would! read more

Stay away from this limousine service. We had a HORRIBLE experience with this company. The driver was unprofessional. Didn't know where he was going even though given an address. He couldn't follow simple directions. We went so far as to enter the location into his ipod with turn by turn directions and he still could not follow the directions. Spent most our time lost and turning around most of the day. Finally, I had to verbally give him turn by turn directions. His driving was at times erratic and he actually went off road. In a limo, can you believe it? The WORST PART was NO air conditioner for half of the day, which included a 2 hour drive home in 100 degree weather. Did I mention there were 10 people in the limo. The company refuses to refund our money for our special occasion that was completely ruined. read more

We hired a cut above for our wedding and was greeted very nicely and given a good quote. When it came to the day the limo was on time and the driver was very professional. So the plan was to take pictures at the hotel, then go to the church, and afterwords go to a park for the final photo shoot of the entire wedding party. The shoot was going to run 20 minutes over our so we asked for another hour and signed another contract. As soon as the pictures were taken we went back to the limo and couldn't find the driver. He wasn't in the front driver seat, or the back, we even checked the trunk (you never know). It kind of felt like an episode of "The Leftovers", that's when my brother was called and were picked up shortly. People were hungry waiting for us and the appetizers only held them over for so long. Oh well, we laughed but everybody still wants to know what happened to the limo driver?? That park was kind of remote and on the other side of a canal. ???? read more
