After shopping, around at Home Depot and local glass and window stores, we found a company that completely filled our needs at a home and garden show near us. California Craftsman were at the event showcasing the many styles and manufacturers of windows and doors. They highly recommended Milgard brand. Their knowledge of window technology so impressed us that after studying the web to research little more we contacted them for a bid. Doug the salesman and Jon the job coordinator came out and gave us some alternative suggestions to our original plan which we had not considered but gratefully accepted. Their alternatives, using Milgard windows gave us more light, convenience and style. After a couple of weeks of waiting (Milgard has a manufacturing plant close to our residence) California Craftsman came out to install. As with most folks, we were sort of dreading the invasion of construction workers stepping on plants, dragging dirt into the house, swearing and listening to riotous music played at maximum volume. We need not have worried about any of these things. The workmen showed up on time and ready to work. Also here were Doug and Jon to make sure all workers knew their particular jobs and that all windows, frames and supplies were there. The work was admittedly loud, but at the end of the day, all eleven windows and sliding doors were installed and working. They had all parts, paint and other supplies on hand, meaning the crew of five (Clark, Fletch, Ryan Justin, and Addine) kept working all the time. And let me tell you, they REALLY worked. I cannot tell you enough about what a pleasure it is to see a job go as well as the one they did for us. Another partial day with a crew of two had this job finished beautifully. I would recommend California Craftsman, and Milgard Windows to anyone who wants true craftsmanship both in the manufacture and installation of windows and doors..... The owner told me the plain glass doors he orders are coated and the water will repel and I won't have to worry about hard water stains. I ordered the doors the owner recommended based on what he told me. I have only had the glass shower doors a few months and they are completely covered in hard water stains and look horrible. I contacted this business twice and explained what is happening and asked if I got the glass doors that were recommended to me. No one has bothered to get back to me.

The sales representative, Gary Lee, came out to my house and brought many samples of the windows choices and hardware accessories. So convenient! Gary was very nice and knowledgeable. He explained the technology of the windows and the various options that were available. He was not a high-pressured salesman at all, which I appreciated. Gary patiently explained the lifetime warranty. So after obtaining estimates from 3 different window companies, I ended up selecting Gary with CECS. A couple weeks later, my windows were installed. They're beautiful and I love them! Fast forward 14 years later, I called Gary back because I was having an issue with a couple of windows that weren't latching. Gary very graciously came out personally after all these years and took care of the problem. He had to remove the windows to make adjustments, which resolved the problem on both windows. Gary also used a dry silicone spray, which enabled all my windows to glide so smoothly when opened and closed. He also made a couple other adjustments and my windows feel like they're brand new again. I'm so grateful to Gary for coming out and repairing/resolving the issue with my windows. He never made me feel like he was being inconvenienced - he acted as though it was a pleasure to help me! In addition to the great customer service and support I always receive from Gary, Im grateful that he always removes his shoes at my entrance, without being asked!This may not be a big deal for some people, but I appreciate it and I know most people would.
