I was interested in irons and a new driver and 5 wood. I only signed up for an irons fitting but we finished that part early and Kasey kindly let me hit some drivers and 5 woods. I ended up purchasing Mizuno irons and the Taylor Made Qi10 driver and 5 wood. Kasey wasn't pushy at all, just really nice through the entire process. I could have purchased the clubs elsewhere but I wanted to give him the business. I love my Qi10s and will be picking up my irons today. Thanks Kasey for the awesome service and experience!

Front door had recently been smashed in, so starting off was already put off by the aesthetics. That's not their fault as the landlord is responsible. From there it was down hill. I came in for a new driver fitting. I only tried 4 different drivers, all at the same loft and feel ultimately leading me to be 45 minutes in. Around the 40 minute mark my coach finally was able to get some improvement on my data. Although they weren't nearly close to what we should have been able to do he recommended me a $650 driver that was not perfectly tailored or fit for me. The experience seemed slow to start, transitions between clubs took around 5 minutes of waiting. I hit more warmup shots waiting to start than I did shots evaluating my club selection. Overall, disappointed in my service and will have to book a new driver fitting elsewhere.

Practice green is frankly rough and the practice area is just weeds and crab grass. Not sure you would gain much going in there. Better off just hitting it around some vacant land. Place was packed on the mats side so clearly a cash cow and the owners have no incentive to make it nice. Could be a good practice center with improvements, but otherwise it is just a place to hit off the mats.

You know the ones you pull out if you are facing a hole with a high chance of ending up in the water. The signs as Craig W. pointed out in April to show the distance to the range markers, well they need to be put in the trash now. The worst part of The Hodges Golf Center is the short game area. You are charged $5.00 to go to an area that looks like a vacant lot that has been neglected for years. This are used to be such a great area to practice. Well maintained bunkers, trees, greens with actual cups in them even a water hazard. Now the only hazard is the short game area. I could not wait to get out of there just so neglected. I live close Oaks North so I will just go there from now on. The greens there are always in top condition and everything is in good shape and taken care of.

Oaks North Golf Course - Ball smashing time

First timer here, had SUCH a warm welcome from everyone at Oaks North..... From the lady at the…read moregrill, to the really nice pro shop attendant to the attentive yet reasonable Marshall. Course was well maintained, had a great time on the East and South courses, saw some really cozy chairs for chilling pre/post round and even saw my favorite YouTube golf ladies tearing it up with one of the PGA pros on the range. My ONLY negative experience was with a few of the other guests... and hopefully this isn't a common occurrence here. Mind you we had 2 males and 2 females in our group.. and we were trying to keep up pace. We didn't hit extra balls and kept it moving. But on the last 3 or 4 holes on South on the long par 4 the group in front of us literally had a straggler on the edge of the fairway on the left side so we wait to hit and we got caught in a conversation amongst ourselves. But honestly we lost track of maybe a min... and of course the guys behind us only see them on the green and failed to see the straggler beforehand. One middle aged guy in a MAGA hat rolls right up to our cart and ....pumps the breaks....he was SO angry and disrespectful... I thought he was joking and couldn't even believe it. He yells "WoW what are you waiting for? Are you really waiting for them to clear the green? Unbelievable"... of course we apologize and allow them go in front of us. He responds with "NO! You know what.......? We are just going to sit here and WATCH while you hit" literally 5 feet from us... and just waits arrogantly for us to flub our shots front the pressure. I've played at courses all over San Diego, LA, Vegas and Utah and I never have felt that type of disrespect and anger on the course... Of course us guys decided not to give in to this hostility....chose the higher ground...kept quiet, striped our balls and kept it moving.. I just felt bad for the girls, they didn't hit and were a little rattled for the rest of the round. The funny thing is after this hole... we were completely waiting on the guys in front of us... when we were on the green of the long par 4, the group in front of us were on the tee box waiting for the group in front of them.... After this we proceeded to wait on every tee box for them to move down the fairway. Crazy turn of events from what started off as a super fun, relaxing round. All in all, loved the course and hope this isn't a normal occurrence for other players.... Would hate for other guests to experience this.

Majority of holes are par 3 and there are a few par 4s. You can play the whole course without a driver. Course maintenance is OK for the price. There are some holes are very muddy with crazy divots everywhere in the tee box. Greens are mostly well maintained. There are some holes that have houses here that are easy to hit with a wayward tee shot so be careful as the owners can get angry and confrontational. On the last tee time we were blamed for the group in front of us hitting an errant tee shot.

This review is for their wedding venue, not the golf course itself…read more This was one of our top contenders thanks to the expansive space and strong overall value. Chelsea was excellent throughout the tour and provided a thorough walkthrough of the venue and its services. =PROS= *The drive into the venue is scenic, secluded, and feels removed from the city *Ample paved parking for guests *Huge bridal suite that included a private bathroom and was accessible starting at 8 AM *Spacious cocktail hour and ceremony areas overlooking the surrounding landscape *Ceremony chairs and arch are included, though there is a moving fee if you plan to reuse the chairs indoors for the reception *Reception hall features high ceilings and includes tables and chairs *Reasonably priced in house catering with a solid selection of hors d'oeuvres *No cake cutting fee *Reasonably priced meals for children and vendors =CONS= *Virtually nonexistent Wi Fi *The groom suite is connected to the locker room, requiring belongings to be relocated later in the evening *The included chairs resemble standard conference room seating, so most couples will likely want to upgrade to Chivari chairs for an additional rental fee *Dark brown carpeting in the reception room =NOTES= *Day of coordination services are required, though outside coordinators are allowed *Option to upgrade the cocktail hour location, which offers a lovely patio view *The standard cocktail hour space is not shaded and can become quite hot, so expect to rent parasols or other shade options Overall, this was a strong nearly all inclusive venue option. The flexibility in choosing outside day of coordination services was a particularly unique and appealing feature. Personally, the carpeting and the lack of a fully dedicated groom suite made me hesitate before committing. Since the golf course remained active during our visit, we were unable to tour the groom suite, which made the golf course aspect feel slightly more apparent. Still, the ceremony, cocktail, and reception spaces were separated well enough that the property ultimately felt more like a wedding venue than simply a golf course hosting weddings.

This course rewards players who can hit the ball long and accurately with some long par 3's and par 5's. With this visit being my first time playing at Maderas, this course for a high handicapper was tough with the changing elevation. Club selection was very important and getting a clean strike rewards you with a chance. The course overall was in good shape and the greens were tricky so it took a couple of holes to get the speed down. Overall great experience at Maderas as the facility was top tier, staff was excellent and the course was challenging. Definitely put this course on your list and don't forget to say hi to the wild turkeys that roam the course freely.
