I love this dog park, although it's small, it is clean, and the owners and dogs are very friendly. This dog park is tucked away just west off Powerline and NW 38th ST (South of Prospect and North of Oakland Park Blvd), right by the railroad tracks and Easterlin Park. There is a large dog area and small under 25 lbs area ,the large dog area is a lot larger. There are also public restrooms. The small dog area has a small table under a covered gazebo, and there are two separate benches in the park. There are hoses, water bowls and a small plastic pool for dogs to cool off in, as well as a few plastic bag/trash stations through out the park, and agility course. I wish there was more seating, but other than that its a great little park with a great mix of dogs and friendly people.

Great dog park has a small dog and big dog area. Plenty of agility and even kiddie pool for rinse off after a hot day at the park

Sitting area and gazebo with walking path coming around

This is a nice smaller size dog "bark" nestled in a small spot by Easterlin Park and the train tracks between Andrews Avenue and Prospect Road. Great job to the City of Oakland Park on putting a small space to good use for people and their pets and on keeping the park clean and well maintained! Good clean dog park with two sections. One section is for small dogs and one section is for the large dogs. Each of the sections have pools for the dogs to run in and out of , a hose and water bowls to refill and use as needed. The small dog section is for under 25 pounds. The larger dog section is for over 25 pounds. I take my doggy to both- depending how many dogs are in each section as my dog is about 15 pounds, so he qualifies, for either, hee hee. The grass is a dark beautiful shade of green with plenty of trees and the maintenance people at the park really do a superb job of keeping it clean. There are several "pet poop stations" for owners to clean up after their pets do their thing all throughout the sections and even outside of them. Most of the time those are kept filled. The kids have a seesaw where the seats are creative "dogs" so they can play, while they are there, also.. Walking paths also exist so that the owners can walk or jog while the dogs and/ or kids are playing. I have figured out in the large dog park- 9 laps is a little over a mile!! Or if the owners want to chillax- there are lots of benches and a covered gazebo to relax at. Usually there is a great mix of dogs and people no matter what time I visit. This dog park is across from Easterlin Broward County Park and is good use of a small space by the railroad tracks. Easterlin has a free disc golf course- that I hear is amazing for you golfer people out there. It also has lots of trails and a great playground for you to wear the kids out after wearing out the dog, if they didn't get wore out while at the dog park. You may want to Yelp that and get more info there! I take my dog here about five days a week and he goes wild as soon as I get close. It's great- it wears him out! You know what my motto is---"happy dog- happy life". Let's see if you can guess who the master in this relationship is!!!

Great Park , not so great dog owners . At least 3 I witnessed ignored their dogs as they pooped all over the place left unattended. Other than rudeness, the park itself is great! Benches , walkways . Very nice . Why ignore your pet ?

Gypsy enjoying the park on a nice day.

I have been coming to this dog park for years and I have had fun but I have also seen a lot of bad…read moredoggie behavior and indifference by pet owners. I finally stopped coming because some people were not watching their dogs as closely as they should. The worst incident I saw happened when a bike rider was going past the fence. A dog pulled off the leash a man was holding and leaped up and ripped her arm open. After that I was done. The problems of the past seem to be over with the new renovation of the dog park. You must register your pet now in order to use it. Registration is $35 for Coconut Creek residents and $70 for non residents. There are separate parks for large and small dogs. The city has added wash stations and agility equipment for the dogs. The park is lovely since it borders a lake and there are over 60 trees providing shade. Water fountains, benches, and a wash station were also added. Keeping your pet safe is a security fence surrounding the entire dog park. Right now only around 150 dog owners have signed up so the park is never crowded. The park is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance. The iconic windmill of the park has now been moved to the inside of the dog park and a lot of landscaping was added. The renovation of the dog park was part of a 3 million dollar Windmill park renovation. Parking used to be dicey but not anymore as the parking lot has been expanded to twice it's size. A new playground has been also added for human kids. Furry kids can be registered at the Community Center up the street on Lyons Road. Once you pay you are given a FOB to enter the dog park fence.

They have a nice office right at the entrance of the park and a two dual port EV charging stations. Both the small and large dog parks are roughly 3⁄4 of an acre each. Exclusive amenities include private dog wash stations, attached restrooms, agility equipment, pavilions, 6-foot wide sidewalks, water fountains, benches, security fencing, and over 60 trees for shading. Usual opening hours are 8am to dusk, but check their website for updates. Renovated in September of 2019, Windmill Park is a fully customized, family-oriented, and pet-friendly environment. Located on Lyons Road north of Atlantic Boulevard, besides the dog park, Windmill Park offers pickleball courts, tennis courts, racquetball courts, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, walking path, and a covered playground.

I was looking for a park that would be open late to take a quiet evening walk with my dog and came…read moreacross this suggestion. There's plenty of activities here ranging from sports, recreational gatherings, dog walking, nature stroll and more so I decided to scope it out. While the dog park itself is small, the park is large enough for you to venture outside of the enclosed dog area and take your pup for a stroll. There was plenty of lighting and people were still around yet it wasn't excessively loud which is exactly what I was looking for. They did seem to have some interesting playgrounds that with a few that seemed rather futuristic. It's not the easiest to get around because the signs are kinda dim and there's no large map at the entrance but it's not large enough to get fully lost in. We got to scope out the full moon and take a brisk walk before continuing our night. Not a bad option at all. I do like when parks are open late with the safety of police presence.

It's such a great green space right in the middle of the city that is home to the Florida Panthers with the recent addition of the Baptist Health Iceplex and the Federal restaurant and the newly renovated Jimmy Evert tennis center. Lots of great activities for families, sports enthusiasts, and four legged friends alike. They continually improve the grounds making it safe and enjoyable for everyone. Lots of free parking and benches dotted throughout the park for relaxing and enjoyment. Weekends are super busy with peewee games/practices but usually quiet during the weekday mornings and afternoons. Come here often and or early enough during spring training and you might get a glimpse of professional athletes training.

We had a soccer tournament this weekend which spanned across multiple parks in Broward. This park…read morewas one of 4 that our team played, but by far, the worst one...though it has so much potential. I believe staff and the city have dropped the ball in allowing a beautiful city park to fall apart. The bathrooms were AWFUL with brown stuff smeared on the mirrors and walls and no toilet paper in any stalls (in male or female bathrooms), and 3 of the toilets in the ladies room were stained with feces or were clogged and unflushed, stall doors were not aligned and difficult to lock. The turf looked fairly new but was literally riddled with so much debris including a ton of cigarette butts, large rocks, bottle caps from various drink bottles (including beer bottles), as well as tons of leaves. In other words, it doesn't appear that the turf is being kept up. There are homeless people living in the park and sleeping along the walls where the bathrooms are with all their bags and blankets piled up along the path to the bathroom. Park staff were huddled together underneath a tent, congregating and chatting but no one tended to bathrooms. There was a kid maybe around 10 or so that had jumped the fence onto the playing turf and was on the sidelines throwing large rocks onto the playing field and although there was staff there, no one stopped him so we, the parents had to tell him to stop and also to go onto the field to collect the rocks he'd thrown so no one gets hurt while playing. Also, there were So many kids in the park for the tournament and oddly, there was no open concession, no vending machines or vendors to buy water or Gatorade. The kids in these tournaments, often play 2 games at two different parks per day but I have yet to do a tournament where there are no beverages available for purchase...even if it's just a vending machine. I hope the Parks & Recreation dept for Sunrise or Ft Laud can make it a priority to fix the problems at his park. It seems to be located in a part of the city where many youth live based on all the kids I saw walking, or riding bicycles into the park from a neighboring community and these kids should be able to safely go and have access to a nice clean park.
