Convenient dog park in Pompano. Nice park, though the gate facing the entrance street on large dog side has gaps so large my 47 pound poodle mix could jam himself out that way. Close to the airport so a bit noisy.

You have to have membership before you enter. Kinda like going an exclusive country club but for doggos.

Hangin out at the "members only" exclusive doggo park. You have to have a key card to enter. Or you could tell the bouncer " I'm with the DJ" (like in an exclusive dance club for doggos)

I used to take my Chihuahua here every morning before work. He loved it. Everyone watched their dogs and they were good about keeping the big dogs out of the little dog park. My job situation changed and I stopped coming. Fast forward to today when I was going stir crazy from being stuck inside all afternoon by the rain. There was a break in the weather so I decided to take my little buddy over to the park. There have been some major changes since I was here last. For one you have to pay to use the park now. Since January you have to register your dog and pay the yearly $30 fee in order to use the park. I don't object to this in principal. It keeps the park safer and the fee is a nominal one. It does however keep a visitor like me out. In order to get in the park you need the code on the key fob they give you when you pay. I believe the refurbished dog park in Coconut creek will also be moving to a pay park when Windmill Park reopens in June. If this is the case I will just pay for that one since it is closer to where I live. In any case I couldn't use the park anyway because it is closed on Tuesdays for refurbishment and I had forgotten that. The park looked great though. The have it separated into two areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. The grass looked fantastic and there were nice benches with shade umbrellas. I use to love watching the planes fly in close overhead as they landed at the nearby Pompano Airport. I had a lot of great memories here so it's a shame I won't be able to visit anymore. Hence my rating of a three. I think it's a five if you are a Pompano resident and can come here with the registration. Since I can't use it anymore I had to drop the rating.

This dog park was nice! It's not free you have to pay I think $30 for the whole year and then they give u a code or something at the gate. Someone happened to walk in before me and let me in during our first visit. Section for small dogs had plenty of space, lots of tennis balls to throw around and a doggy water foundation with a few bowls u can fill up and take around the park with you. All the dogs were well behaved and I met some nice owners as well. I like this park I'll bring Glory back here even though I might have to pay next time

I go to this park with my ChiPin mix almost everyday, at various hours of the day. My dog and I love coming here. You do on occasion run into owners who don't have tags on their dogs, don't pick up after their dogs, or their dogs seem to be in heat but this is inevitable wherever you go for FREE. If people want residents/tourists to be forced to show proof of up-to-date vaccinations then get ready to pay an annual/weekly/daily park fee. Otherwise, live with it. You like it free, you've got to sacrifice some things. But no worries prospective fur-baby-park-goers, the park is well kept for the most part, the people are nice, and altercations are rare. This park has regulars, myself included, and most of them are nice and do well to help maintain the parks in the best condition. I don't know what regulars the previous reviewer was referring to that were "wasted" but I can assure you all that that is not a regular thing. There are plenty of faucets and shade for the dogs, fair amount of seating (some people bring their own to hang out), and plenty of space to run/roam. There is also lots of parking and the airport/community park trail runs right by the dog park so that if you wanna go running with your furry one, you can. Very thankful to have a park nearby where my furry one can run around, enjoy the Florida heat, socialize, I can play with other pups, and then he can pass out in the car good and tired.

Four stars for having a dog park in the area. But a few additions would be really helpful. There are only 2 benches in the big dog area. Not near enough seating or canopy for shade or protection from rain. No fun obstacles for the dogs. If these were added it would be great for sure.

I was dog-sitting my sister's Chihuahua (Max is his name), and decided to take him to this dog park on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Max is around four pounds (very much a lap dog), and was very comfortable in the smaller dogs' section (25 pounds or less). I really liked this place. Max got a good workout as he was free to roam around as he pleased. The other dogs would come around and sniff his behind, but he had no interest in returning the favor. He instead chose to carve his own path, but he wasn't bothered by the other dogs. He appeared content. The dog-loving patrons are friendly, and it is very easy to strike up conversations. There aren't a lot of benches, and savvy veterans bring their own lawn chairs, and coolers in some instances. They sit together and socialize as their dogs trot around freely.

This is a well maintained dog park with two different sections for under 25lbs and over, there's a section to wash off your pups water fountains and plenty of water dogbowls if you didn't bring one. I've only been here once Thursday at 3pm and no other dogs around just us

Beautiful day at pompano dog park!

Ask the Community - Canine Corner Dog Park

Is the pass good at all dog parks in Broward County or just Canine Corner?

I don't think so, it is very specific to Pompano residents. Even if non-residents are also allowed to use the park they have to pay higher fees.

Where do I go, to purchase the code or device thing that opens the gate?

One can go t the Aquatic Center from noon to 4pm or to the Civic Center for morning hours. They require an application, rabies paperwork and justification of residency… Read more

I finally stopped coming because some people were not watching their dogs as closely as they should. The worst incident I saw happened when a bike rider was going past the fence. A dog pulled off the leash a man was holding and leaped up and ripped her arm open. After that I was done. The problems of the past seem to be over with the new renovation of the dog park. You must register your pet now in order to use it. Registration is $35 for Coconut Creek residents and $70 for non residents. There are separate parks for large and small dogs. The city has added wash stations and agility equipment for the dogs. The park is lovely since it borders a lake and there are over 60 trees providing shade. Water fountains, benches, and a wash station were also added. Keeping your pet safe is a security fence surrounding the entire dog park. Right now only around 150 dog owners have signed up so the park is never crowded. The park is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance. The iconic windmill of the park has now been moved to the inside of the dog park and a lot of landscaping was added. The renovation of the dog park was part of a 3 million dollar Windmill park renovation. Parking used to be dicey but not anymore as the parking lot has been expanded to twice it's size. A new playground has been also added for human kids. Furry kids can be registered at the Community Center up the street on Lyons Road. Once you pay you are given a FOB to enter the dog park fence.

Located on the east side of Cypress Road, I can't tell you how many hundreds of times, I've driven by without stopping. And I had no idea that it was as expansive. Coming from the south, you need to watch carefully as there is only one entrance and one exit from the parking lot. There's ample parking spaces. In addition to separate tennis courts, and 2 handball courts/tennis backboard walls, there is a nice play area. The children's playground has swings and covered slides and is mulched to protect the little ones. The large grassy areas are quite nice. A walking (running?) path goes around the perimeter. There are bathroom facilities, too. The one covered pavilion has seating. There are benches nearby and a bbq grill. The pavilion can be rented from the city for an event. It was relatively quiet on weekday. One gal practicing her tennis swings; another couple playing tennis; one person getting in their "steps"; and a guy eating his lunch on a bench at the pavilion. If I lived nearby and/or had young kids, I'd be here everyday.
