I really liked this neighborhood park. It is relatively small (just over 5 acres, now), but has a lot to offer.
Located on the east side of Cypress Road, I can't tell you how many hundreds of times, I've driven by without stopping. And I had no idea that it was as expansive.
Coming from the south, you need to watch carefully as there is only one entrance and one exit from the parking lot. There's ample parking spaces.
In addition to separate tennis courts, and 2 handball courts/tennis backboard walls, there is a nice play area. The children's playground has swings and covered slides and is mulched to protect the little ones.
The large grassy areas are quite nice. A walking (running?) path goes around the perimeter. There are bathroom facilities, too.
The one covered pavilion has seating. There are benches nearby and a bbq grill. The pavilion can be rented from the city for an event.
It was relatively quiet on weekday. One gal practicing her tennis swings; another couple playing tennis; one person getting in their "steps"; and a guy eating his lunch on a bench at the pavilion. If I lived nearby and/or had young kids, I'd be here everyday. read more
