Randy at Oakes Landscaping did an amazing job on our backyard. He met with my husband, returned a very reasonably priced quote for what we were asking for. Which was an irrigation system, sod, rock, and some type of barrier along our chain link fence so the rock didn't escape. My husband called and told him, he was good to go, and that following Tuesday Randy showed up with his crew. On Tuesday, they did the irrigation system and completed it within a half of a day so they continued on and laid down the rock. Since they were on schedule, they said they would be back Thursday, which they were, and knocked out the curbing and even provided us with different styles of concrete curbing that could be poured. We went with a slant style curbing and he told us since there had to be a gap between the fence and the concrete we had enough rock to fill it in which was perfect. On Friday, they came back and finished up and I am already in love with my new back yard! It couldn't have been a better match for us to go with Oakes Landscaping and for them to provide us with a perfect yard for our fur babies and our soon to be little one. I must say after working with Randy for years, off and on for repairs or landscaping, it's been a pleasure. He does have the knowledge and a keen eye for design and knows what plants and trees will blend well together. He's super busy all the time and that can be a positive or a downfall because sometimes it's hard to get a hold of him or communicate, but he will get things done, no matter what. He's a good guy and his service is worth the cost. What he does is not overly priced and he will come back and fix any issues if they arise. I have been saving money for a long time to get my backyard landscaped. I have a beautiful swimming pool that was surrounded by dirt for the last 16 years. We've slowly added concrete and extended our patio cover the length of our house but we still had a lot of dirt to cover. I had 4 estimates and Oaks was actually my first call. I will say Randy the owner missed the appointment but I texted him and he immediately was apologetic and came right out. It wasn't a great first impression but I wasn't going to count him out. I had clear plans on what we wanted and had a good layout in mind. Our property slightly sloped so we definitely needed a retaining wall and some drains installed. I also wanted more cement, a free standing patio cover, artificial turf, decomposed granite, and a water line installed with hose bib and drip system. Randy's bid was very competitive, there were a few things he was lower on and a few things he was higher on but I liked his suggestions on a few things that gave me better insight on the outcome. I also wanted to use my own cement guy to do the cement work since he has done all my existing cement and Randy was the only contractor who had no problem with it. I am pretty loyal to those who do good work and wanted to give my cement guy the business so this was a huge plus. Randy started the job in 2 weeks just as promised. Randy and crew showed up when they said they would and worked through the hottest days we've had. The yard slowly came together one project at a time. I will say we did have a few issues arise but Randy was very professional and handled them right away. Stuff happens it's just life, but it's how it's handled and taken care of that's most important.
