On 02/16/2026 I went to my appointment that was confirmed by OAK STREET at the Castle hill location in the Bronx. When I showed up at the proper time a rude Dominican receptionist denied my confirmed appointment stating that I did not have an appointment. I showed her the confirmed text and she still denied it. If I could give a zero, I certainly would. I have been going to Oak Street for about 2 years. My physical was a joke... no blood work... no urine test. When I asked for a referral to a kidney doctor, I was told "What can they do that I can't?" Let's just "Monitor it" for a month. So, I personally purchased lab test and now it shows I have stage 4 kidney disease. I am so disappointed in the service. She is a nurse practitioner and not a specialist. We switched from a family clinic to Oakstreet because it was closer to us here in Apache Junction and we thought the focus on seniors would be a better fit. We were promised same day or next day appointments if we needed them. Their marketing collateral also states same. No. That is not going to happen. I have needed to make a same/next day appointment three times now in the two years we've been going there. Not. Once my appointment was bumped for a snowbird and I was told "well, someone had to be moved so it was you". I felt so disrespected. Recently, I tried to get a "next day" appointment. Someone called me back twice (couldn't get to the phone in time) but they didn't leave a message. When I called back the guy i was transferred to (not a nurse) said he called four times and left a message. That's an outright lie. He said he would have a supervisor call me back in a few minutes. She never called. There's an Archwell right across the street. I think we're going to try them. If not, we'll go back to our family clinic. The sun city doctors don't keep you waiting but the clinic has other, more exasperating ways of wasting your time. Read their web page and remember they close at 5 PM. Don't call for an appointment after that time because the announcements won't remind you that they are closed. i made an appoint for new patient 1.5 weeks ago. then i received calls (one at 5am in morning), numerous emails, numerous texts reminding me of this first appt. then today, on day of appt, i get a call at 7:30am to cancel the appt because the person who leads 90 min introduction appt...called in sick. so i was bothered probably 7+ times to remind me...then they cancel an intro appt!! needless to say, this kind of bad healthcare i will not tolerate...& cancelled any further business. i read other review that said someone cancelled at last minute as well. this is terrible management of healthcare. run. read more

This place is a total FRAUD. They advertise, "24/7 Support Line For Care When You Need It". That is pure, 100% bullshit!!!!!!!!! They have one telephone and no matter what time of day you call, all anyone ever gets is a recording to call 911 if it's an emergency. No one ever picks up the phone, you cannot get through to anybody, and there is no one there to handle your so-called ''care when you need it'' call. They have one male doctor who is short-tempered. They have a female nurse practitioner who is elderly and can never remember anything from one appointment to the next. They also employ several lesbians who, without provocation, are outwardly aggressive toward males of any age. To say Oak Street Health is dysfunctional is the understatement of the year. Moved to AZ in 2023. Chose this clinic system as it was close to my house and advertised they were geared towards senior care. Should have read these Yelp reviews 1st. Ordered tests not covered by Medicare or checked wrong box so I had to pay out of pocket. Refused to take responsibility and pay me for their mistakes. Massive staff turnovers, had the same PA but nurses and Patient Advocates always changing. After 4 months I'd had ENOUGH!. Found a real Dr and clinic who cares about their patients and are responsive to requests, usually the same day. Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. They have NO clue about patient care. I went to the oak Street health office in apache junction AZ with my wife. In the office they told me my new Medicare coverage that started on1/1/2025 would not cover me at oak Street health. During my appointment they took labs and said they would call me 4 days later. After I did not receive a call I called back every day for 9 days and was told every that someone would call me back with the results finally received a call back after 9 days and was told that the labs were never sent out to the lab. I Also spent 3 days on the phone to get a policy that oak Street would accept and then when I talked to oak Street they said they would not accept that plan. When I tried to complain to their corporate office i could not find a number and none of their phone representatives could transfer me or give me a number to there corporate office. The also only let you see nurse practices. So if you want to join a health care group that does not care about you this is the place.​ read more

They removed my Bloodwork appointment Didn't tell me so I had to have it Rescheduled. it needed to go to my Kidney doctor the following week. Got to the kidney Doctors office and It was never faxed over. Had to call And listen to an outside person to Get it sent over. The health care workers are lovely. the way it is managed and administered leaves a great deal to be desired. Dr's referrals get lost or never faxed to the provider. It takes days for someone to get back to you if you have a problem. You can't reach the office or a nurse directly. The answering machine makes you press 56 buttons to reach a human. Then that person asks 39 questions before you can even say what you called to say. They seem short staffed but there's never anyone else in the waiting room. I don't get it. Completely changed doctors offices so that I could be seen by the same doctor every time. Instead of where I had been going for years that turned into a residency clinic. They promised to continue my care plan which included Robaxin my asthma medicine and to continue my portacath care which nice a month. I was ensured by the nurse practitioner Let me YELP out her name clearly he cause apparently she stated to me that she " HAS NEVER PRESCRIBED ROBAXIN". This rather startled me as I am a nurse as well and know that Robaxin is a very very well known drug and commonly prescribed for muscle spasms. I had been in to see her for my initial visit and told her VERY DISTINCTLY that I had been on the Robaxin for over 3 plus years now. I have no history of drug abuse and in fact for 12 years had a consistently clean record with a pain management specialist who saw me due to a enterocele that took 12 years for doctors to finally diagnose. I never violated my controlled prescription contract with them and told her she could drug screen me and I would sign a new controlled contract with her if she wanted. Going back to this last January I had a grade 3 sprain of my left ankle and the only thing besides opiate pain medicine that was getting me through the pain was the Robaxin that my previous clinic had been prescribing me. This NURSE PRACTITIONER NAMED HOLLY LAGO and OAK STREET HEALTHCARE WILL NOT PRESCRIBE YOU ANY MUSCLE RELAXANTS OR PAIN MEDICINE NO MATTER HOW BAD YOUR PAIN IS. !!!!!!!! RUN FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS FARCE OF A DOCTORS OFFICE!! THEY ARE SO DEEP ASS DESPERATE FOR PATIENTS THAT THEY HAVE VANS THAT THEY WILL EVEN PICK YOU UP AND BRING YOU INTO THEIR FAKE ASS OFFICE!! DONT FALL FOR THE FANCY COMMERCIALS! STAY WITH YOUR CURRENT DOCTORS AND AVOID THIS " JACK IN THE BOX" Dr.s office! I was in tears and in excruciating pain and they still lied to me saying they would continue my regular meds. I was happy with Mesa at first but they totally missed a diagnosis of bronchitis & dismissed my call backs & the wait times have gotten much longer so I switched to AJ & you can't hardly get though on the phone & their wait times are way long as well. read more

I had high hopes for this place but the very real problem is that you can never contact the office. You have to call a switchboard of sorts that is out of town and they always sound like you're interrupting something more important... you tell them your problem then they contact the office and supposedly someone will get back to you The people answering are not trained in the medical field they just take messages and relay them...but you have to keep calling and always get someone new and they assure you the message will be sent but 2 weeks later I'm still waiting. I went to Oak Street Health seeking a new primary care provider. Admitedly, I did not do my homework and didn't realize this was just a clinic not really focusing on individual patient care. On my first visit, the provider did nothing more than discuss my health situation. Did not examine me at all - didn't even touch me. She did request blood work; but then left me in the room waiting for the tech until I finally came out only to learn they had forgotten me in the room. Did get the blood work done, but then no one ever contacted me with the results. I called to request a couple of tests we had discussed and never received a call back until five days later when I was told they could not find those tests in my profile. That's because no one ever got back to me. Unfortunately, I was having health issues and it was important for me to have a doctor who was responsive to my needs. I'm referring to Glenfair Oak Street but in general the entire Oak Street system. They have been pursuing me nonstop. I've tried to set up appointments. No one ever calls me back. I had a video call -- they were supposed to send in paperwork to get me lab tests that never happened. There is no direct line so today I did a walk in to the Glenfair clinic and lo and behold. They have no phone number that you can call, the people at the front desk don't even seem to know what's going on. I will not be using Oak Street and I'm going to let LASSO know it's not a great reference and it also has an a great reference for AARP. read more
