They are currently renovating the property but don't let that fool you!
No amount of cosmetic changes will address the real issues of tenant relations. Braden Fellman has a HORRIBLE reputation and for good reason.
COCKROACHES, OPEN DOOR MAINTENANCE POLICIES, ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE
Braden Fellman has added so much unneeded stress into my life due to their unprofessional practices and inability to care for their tenants.
First off, my apartment has German COCKROACHES. The unit that I rented was empty when I committed in the beginning of July, like turn the lights on and they scurry. They were supposed to refinish the hardwood floors and fix up a few things before I moved in. None of which were done.
I got a phone call day before move in day asking me if I could move in late because they had forgotten to refinish the floors. I was moving from Chicago and already on my way. The property manager at the time, there have been three in the 9 months I have lived here, asked me to put all my stuff into storage. And sleep where? They found a crew who refinished them with a mono coat in a day. They don't look good but at least I was able to move in on time.
Upon my arrival, my apartment still wasn't ready. It wasn't cleaned. The tube was clogged, all the screens had holes in them, the dishwasher was broken and filled with water. None of the appliances where checked before I moved in. The gas company deemed my stove and HVAC system too unsafe to be hooked up to the gas.
It took Braden Fellman 21 days to get me a new stove. 21 DAYS I lived without the ability to cook food outside a microwave. It took over a month and a half to have a functioning dishwasher. When I finally received new appliances, they were dropped off with zero notice. I received my new dishwasher while I was in the shower. I came out of the bathroom in a towel to hear someone inside my apartment. I have never received a phone call or an appointment for a maintenance request. They come of their own convenience and often don't even bother to knock. I was once eating breaking at my kitchen table, when the maintenance woman just unlocked my door. She was scared to find me in my own apartment.
The old stove was infested with German Cockroaches and they still left the appliances in my unit for a day after they installed the new ones. I had a fridge defrosting in the living room.
Even after a "new" HVAC unit, it is so loud that you cannot enjoy anything in the living room. Literally the loudest system I have ever heard. And you receive no air to the bedrooms, heat or AC.
Every appliance that was installed had to be reinstalled. The dishwasher was new and looked at 3 times before it functioned properly. I ran it once and it flooded the downstairs unit. I started it at night than went to bed. In the morning there was a note on my kitchen counter and the contents of my lower cabinet had been removed. Someone was in my apartment while I slept, and I didn't even notice over the sound of the HVAC. I never received as much as a phone call.
It is 9 months in, and the issues have been constant. There has not been a single month that I have lived here where there wasn't someone in my apartment fixing something or living through construction. They started the construction at 6 am during the week and 8 am on Saturday with zero concern for their tenants.
My unit still has yet to be updated with new windows. I received an email earlier this week that they are waiting on a second shipment in order to finish all the units. It would be at least a week then who knows until my unit would actually be done. They thought it acceptable to paint over my windows since they will be replaced....weeks from now.
I honestly could go on and on. In terms of living situation, this has been the worst 9 months I have ever endured. Save yourself a lot of trouble and move elsewhere. read more
