I have had a HORRIBLE experience with Oak Motors. Honestly, they should be called "Side of the Road Motors." I've had nothing but problems with the vehicle since the day I got it. This year alone, I've had to bring it in for service three different times for the same issue. I rely on my car to get to work and make my payments, but they've made that nearly impossible. Fast forward to Tuesday, 9/30--my car is back in their service department yet again for the exact same problem. To make matters worse, they won't even answer the phone when I call for updates. On Tuesday, I actually overheard someone say, "I didn't mean to answer the phone for her, I meant to put her on hold"--then I was placed back on hold until they closed. Completely unprofessional. All I want is a clear answer on what's happening with my car, and if they can't fix the issue, they should put me in another vehicle. This whole experience has been beyond frustrating, and I would not recommend Oak Motors to anyone--I wouldn't even send my dog there. read more

To Whom It May Concern, I'm writing this letter to express just how deeply upset and disappointed I am with my most recent experience with Oak Motors. As a four-time customer, I never imagined I'd be treated this poorly or be put through such an exhausting and unacceptable situation. When I purchased this fourth vehicle--a truck--from Oak Motors, the problems began almost immediately. Within the first 30 days, the front axles had to be replaced. Shortly after, the truck began sputtering and jerking every time I came to a stop. That was just the beginning. The service department told me the vehicle was burning through oil and they refilled it, asking me to drive another 1,000 miles before bringing it back. I did exactly that, only to be told again that the oil was low and that the engine needed to be replaced. I agreed to the engine replacement, trusting Oak Motors to make it right. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. Once the engine was replaced, the check engine light came on and has remained on ever since--for at least four to five months now. I've brought the truck back countless times, each time being promised a fix that never comes. I was told at one point the truck might need yet another engine, and another time that using an OEM part might solve the issue. Nothing has worked. The light always comes right back on the moment I drive away from your service center. Trying to deal with the service department has been a nightmare in itself. They rarely answer the phone, never call back, and I've even been hung up on. I have to constantly chase them down to get any kind of update. I've requested several times to be traded into another vehicle, especially after being told by IFC that this would be an option if the service department couldn't resolve the issue. Now, suddenly, I'm being told that's no longer possible, with no clear explanation as to why. To make matters worse, no loaners are ever available when my vehicle is in the shop, leaving me without transportation for days at a time. I've been more than patient, but this has become absolutely unacceptable. What's even more frustrating is the fact that I've referred others to Oak Motors, and yet I'm being treated like my loyalty and business mean nothing. As a repeat customer, this is beyond disappointing. But let me miss a payment, and suddenly your team knows exactly how to call and chase me down--for a truck that's never worked properly since day one. I've had enough. At this point, all I want is to be released from this vehicle altogether, or to be traded into a different, reliable vehicle immediately. I purchased a Kia Soul from here about 4 years ago. Within the first 8 months, I had two transmission replacements. It was very frustrating, but the warranty did cover it. The first time, I was out of a vehicle for four weeks. That transmission lasted about one month, and then it wouldn't shift. So, I had to go through the process again. The second time, they had my car for 2 1/2 months. Both times, I requested a loaner. They kept telling me I was on the list. I would call weekly to see where I was in line. They always told me I was next but never gave me a loaner. Luckily, I had a friend rent me a vehicle for $100 a week. I knew better than to request any reimbursements. I am very glad that I purchased the warranty, or Idk what I would have done. If you do purchase here, just make sure you keep receipts for all oil changes and get them done on time. If not, your warranty will be voided. I gave them 2 stars because the warranty did cover the transmissions. But I am currently in the market again and definitely will NOT be coming back to Oak Motors! read more

when buying my car, the customer service was EXCELLENT!!! I couldn't be more happier with my car and how everyone treated me! however, getting my car serviced is worse than getting teeth pulled. Everyone's attitude is so negative, you can't get ahold of anyone during the day, and just getting it serviced takes a whole week and they STILL didn't fix my problems. All I would like is for my car to be in great shape but paying for service, getting treated like we don't matter and not having my car issues fixed is unacceptable. Blown engine after 5 months - none of their vehicles are looked at or serviced beforehand. This is company is strictly in the business of selling cars and making their money. Terrible and lack of communication from the sales department. Very disappointed in this business. I have already filed a complaint with the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. Went to this location to inquire about a 2008 hyundai sonata they had on the lot, I walked in after a moment I was asked if I needed any help I said I would like some more information on the hyundai sonata on there lot he said he said our cars start at 1299 I thought 1,299 because they had a few early 90's cars so I said well I was mostly just interested in the 2008 hyundai sonata that is white and has the black grill bra on it. The finance company will do payment arrangements for your services, and then keep pushing your car payments towards the end of your loan - therefore making it to where your vehicle will never be paid off!! They don't care about you. I've asked for my situation to be escalated to upper management, and they will not get me in contact with them. Where they get you is the repairs...They will make repairs which should've been done in the first place but they do them AND then they add them to your payment. That's where they get you..Those wayyyy inflated repairs are with a ton of interest which is just awful. This is an awful organization with even worse people running the show. Shameful!! I bought a Kia Sorento November 2022. It had 77,000 miles and everything checked out. Well six weeks after I bought the vehicle the check engine light came on. And it took about two weeks before they would have an appointment available to get that taken care of. Four days before the appointment the check engine light started flashing. When trying to accelerate the vehicle would stall and then finally accelerate. So I figured I wouldn't drive it And I would just take Ubers/Lyft to work since my appointment was so soon I thought it would probably only be five or six days total I have to take the Uber's before my vehicle will be ready. After dropping it off they told me I would need a fuel sensor replaced and I told him I want my oil changed as well. The total was $409. they called me the next day and said that there was a recall on my engine, but luckily the warranty took care of it. That warranty also says that I can get a vehicle from you guys and I would only have to pay $20 a week. They said they had no vehicles, But they would let me know when some came available. That Friday I called them and they said that the engine recall issue was Taken care of and that they would contact me next week and let me know when I can pick up my vehicle. The engine issue got taken care of very quickly, but I believe that they did that so they wouldn't have to give me a rental because if what was covered under the warranty was done then The service that was provided with the warranty would voided. So the following Monday I got a text saying " they will contact me shortly and let me know when the vehicle is for pick up." She said OK let me know. I heard nothing so On Tuesday ( at this point my vehicle has been there 1 week) They called and asked if I still wanted the fuel sensor replaced.. I told him obviously I have been waiting I thought you guys already had it and we're in the process of getting it replaced. United got no apology or anything but they told me it would be there probably on Wednesday no later than Thursday. It didn't get there until Friday and by the time they got there they said there was no technician available to replace it. So they said it should be ready by Monday or Tuesday. Today is Tuesday and it's been two weeks. I am very frustrated. I don't feel like I'm valued. I've spent almost $750 ( I have the receipt) in Ubers/Lyft. tomorrow which is Wednesday it'll be two weeks that I paid my car note and haven't driven my car. After giving Oak Motors over a month to finish my car as promised, I'm giving up and leaving my final update. After an extremely maddening ordeal, yet again, to get my car fixed properly...I'm throwing in the towel. Oak Motors has proven to us that they do NOT care about their customers. We sincerely feel they have an attitude of having those with credit issues, wanting to rebuild, over a barrel. Not that it matters, but our credit issues are nothing that we are embarrassed about. We have not one penny in credit card debt, and the credit issue we have ourselves in, is 100% credited to us doing what needed to be done to pay for services and things needed for our Autistic son. We live within our means afnd pay cash for everything except this stupid car and medical bills/services for our son that we will be paying on long after he's of age. My husband works extremely hard to support our family, barely taking one day a week off. So that I can drive us around in a nice, safe, dependable car, to the many therapies and activities that our son is involved in...drive down and help my elderly grandparents who are 1k miles away, every other month, without getting caught halfway thru the trip with a bad motor on a 3 year old car...a motor that supposedly had just been replaced with a "new" motor. It's extra upsetting for us a family, feeling like hubby's hard earned cash isn't respected. We have NEVER been late on even one single payment in the nearly 4 years that we have been purchasing a vehicle from Oak Motors. Yet, we're treated as second rate, annoying citizens as soon as the purchase is complete. We have complained every time, and every time, we're met with even more unprofessional dealings. Service manager, Ray, is NOT a man of his word and men that are in even higher up positions act like small town mentality, sexists. As it stands, after forcing Ray to do as he promised and pay for my car to go thru an inspection at a dealership, he has refused to return my husbands calls about finishing my car. The dealership noted over $100 in parts missing from my car...part of the reason you can completely lift the intake up and off with no effort. Oak Motors was supposed to pay for all these parts to be replaced by the dealership. But, as usual, it takes complaining to the BBB and publicly shaming them to do the right thing. I could go on and on about how terrible our last experience was, but I just don't have the energy to even pour in to this disgusting business anymore. And I'm not saying anything that most anyone else that's dealt with Choke Motors hasn't already complained about. We are looking into options of refinancing the car with the bank, so we can trade out of it in a few years with a reputable dealer. We didn't even realize until after getting in with Oak Motors that we did have some options with some local dealerships. My biggest advice? Just don't purchase from here. And if you already have, get familiar with the Better Business Bureau's claim process and reviewing on Yelp, where they can't pay to change or delete your review. It's the only way you'll get them to at least half way, lacklusterly do KIND OF the right thing. read more

The overall experience with servicing was horrible. My car was delivered to the dealership on 2/5/2024 due to my car overheating, smoking, and then it finally went out on me. In which it didn't even actually get touched till 2/9/2024. There was no form of communication at all during the servicing at all. I was consistently contacting the servicing department I was given the running around multiple times. My car was "diagnosed" stating I need a engine replacement. My check engine was on in which I indicated. I finally got my car back on February 27th. Now as of today I have tried to contact the servicing center all day no answer. My car is currently still smoking/ overheating even with the replacement engine, so it was rarely checked fully. I went to auto zone for them read the possible reasons for the check engine light results in which now my catalytic converter needs to be replaced part of the exhaust fueling system. I am honestly disappointment in this service and experience. My car was just held for close to 4 weeks and barely a week later it has to go back because my fully not being serviced to the entirety. read more

Got it back a couple days later check engine light came back on for the same thing they fixed and now it's in the shop for being in drive and not wanting to go or it just coasts and revves up and it's possibly a transmission issue! I am purchasing one of their cars it's ok so I dropped it off because I was going to be out of state. To get some work done on it they had it a month only did a few things on the list that was about six things. One of the major things I wanted done was the sprayed on the passenger side fixed for the washer. Well that didn't get done and if the they did the oil change they didn't reset the oil light because it is now telling me to get my oil changed. Had to take it to tire barn because when you got up to 45 mph. It had a terrible shake. Well that cost me 70 dollars we didn't plan on spending. And who ever looked at my tire lost or kept my Cadillac valve stem cap that I had purchased and put on the tire. Please do NOT use this business to buy a car. These people are unprofessional! I have had a vehicle through them for 2 whole years. They will call and harrass you for a payment if you are less 24 hours late, and threaten a repo for less than a week late. Everyone I have spoken to have been RUDE, disorganized, and I never get the response I need. I have even had customer service reps laugh at me and make fun of me while I was laying in a hospital and trying to reconcile my account. They also lose personal information and payments and never respond to emails, and have even went as far as refusing to refinance when I had paid them far more than my payment due. So my husband and I took a drive down to the south store to look at the Acura! It was beautiful! We started talking to Larry and low and behold he is the uncle of our first salesman Brandon! We got to talking and had an amazing visit! Everything was approved and we signed all paperwork in about a little over an hour! Larry is so nice and very honest! South side is the worst location to take your car in for mechanical work. Neither the guy behind the desk from the west side location not the supposed manager know anything about cars. Can't get a print out of all work done to my car since I had it and finance company says to get that information from them. Flex pipe has been out on my car for a month and every time I call to schedule all he keeps saying is he doesn't know when they can fix it because they are backed up and there are no rentals available. There has never been a rental available and they have always been backed up since I had my car but I was told when I got the car that it would t take but a week tops to get it back after repair. Now they keep using this excuse that it's Covid and back ordered. So here's the thing. I walked into Oak Motors (South Store), and previously I was told to see Chad Hampton when I arrived. I waited for the longest time before he even helped me...maybe about an hour and a half. FINALLY, we sit down, I tell him what I am in there for. They're "supposed" to have a down payment assistance program. I told him I would need that because I couldn't afford a down payment at this time. He says, ok no problem, we could run some papers through and see if we can get you "approved" for something. I said ok, sounds great! He had me take a clip board out to the lot and write down stock numbers of the vehicles I was interested in. He told me to bring it back inside. One of the vehicles was a truck, and it seemed to be nice, but I figured it might have been out of my range. He said to call him or he would call me the next day. When I called, he said that he had a meeting...ok understandable, it's Monday. THEN, I waited a couple of hours. I figured by this time he wasn't going to call me, so I called him, or tried to. He was busy with another customer, so I waited for awhile and called back. He gets on the phone, tells me that I was approved for 2 vehicles from the list. I said ok, which ones? He said one of them is an HHR, and he couldn't remember the other ones. I said ok great, and I said, "you're sure that I am good to go, that I will definitely get one of the cars, and HE told me, YES!!!! He asked me if I was coming there tomorrow, which was the next day after speaking to him, and I told him I would be in the next day around 9am, and I asked him if he would be there. He said no, but another salesperson, Mark would be glad to help you, and I said alright. My mom and sister out of the greatness of their hearts, took me up there to GET a new car for myself. I get to the store, and there wasn't a friendly welcome at all. I waited while the manager was on the phone, and the salesperson Mark was on the phone as well. I didn't even get, " Hello sir, welcome to Oak Motors, someone will be right with you."....nothing. I waited there about 5-10 minutes, I don't know, cause I didn't keep time..Then, Mark called me over to help. I told him my situation, and that Chad was previously helping me. He looked into everything. Brought out a list of vehicles, rather than 2, that I was approved for. I went down through there and he asked me if there were any that interested me. Mind you, this whole time, he didn't seem that friendly, didn't even have service with a smile, so I was already uncomfortable. We go out to the lot, and we look at an HHR, and it wasn't 100 percent comfortable, so we walked way on the other side, and looked at another HHR, then a couple of other cars, then I sat in a Malibu, and it seemed ok. He asked me if I wanted to test drive it, and I said no, I kinda want to go to one of your other stores because Chad told me there is a bigger selection. He said ok, and he grabbed a list and it had a couple of vehicles on there. A Chevy Impala, and Grand Marquis he was wanting me to go look at. He called some Steven person at the WEST store, and tried to get me to go there to look at them. Supposedly, they do this trade thing, where if I were to get a car, just in case, I bring the car from the WEST store for example, and basically trade vehicles. SO, Mark brings around a Nissan Sentra, of which was older and much smaller since I am a bigger guy, and he knew that. I tried to drive it because he wanted ME to take it to the other store. Ok, but WHY are you going to have me take a car to another store for YOU? Why doesn't someone else take it. You're not paying me a penny to do this. I told him I couldn't fit in it at all to drive it, so I asked if my sister could drive it, and he says...."well maybe I need to send that Malibu over..." Talking about the Malibu I looked at on their lot. Then he goes inside, and I am sure some crap was said just to get rid of me, and Mark came out and said that all of a sudden, Indiana Finance said I needed a cosigner and 1500 dollars down, without the assistance.....UMMMMM OK???!!!!!??? All of a sudden because I couldn't drive a car that YOU or someone else working there should have driven to that lot, and you come back with that crap? Totally a fix on the manager's end, and as I said before, he was never friendly, and never spoke not one word to me. The manager working there, TODAY to be exact...his name is Steve Howard. As a matter of fact, he never spoke to me the first time I went in there. SO, I could do nothing, but sit in my mom's van, and listen to all of these stupid excuses this other guy was coming up with. I at first gave him the benefit of the doubt, that hey, yeah you did just take over for Chad not being here, but at the same time, I was furious with him too because he never made me feel appreciated, and furthermore, there were excuses after excuses, after excuses. I purchased my car in 2011 at the Shadeland location, but my car was brought to the south location after it caught on fire in November 2012. The 'tech' who pretended to fix my car uses electrical tape and the parts that caught on fire to repair my car. Then charged me $1200. In February 2013 is started over heating and though I continued to take it in, it was never repaired and every time I take it in it is something else. I have paid more than triple the cars blue book value in repairs and after a $1100 transmission, new fans, wires and two lost jobs due to car, this morning the car shifted into neutral while I was driving 75 on the interstate. My head slammed into the steering wheel and I am again without a car. I am sick of this pathetic excuse for a service department not admitting they can't fix this POS. Called this AM for tune up on my Explorer. Was switched to Service department, lady answering questions, was rude, rude, rude. Cut me off in mid sentence more than once. Couldn't get my truck in, and she was going to just hang up(itty), but waited a few seconds then quickly said "bye" not goodbye, thanks for calling, we hope to help you at a later date. Anything regarding good customer service was left to the wayside. I had originally left a nasty review on here because of a bad experience I had with Oak Motors. After hearing my concerns, I was contacted by a gentlemen all too happy to fix the situation. We spoke and I told him my concerns, why I felt the way I did and what I needed. The car I had previously purchased from them just did not meet my needs at all. And after listening to me, he fixed the situation. He called me up with an option he thought best suited my needs and he was right. I absolutely love my vehicle and while it is more expensive than my last vehicle, the money and stress and struggle it has saved me everywhere else in my life has seriously helped me. People make mistakes and other people have misunderstandings. It happens. In the end these guys got me in what I needed and I couldn't be happier with it. read more

I purchased a 2007 Jeep from Oak Motors in October of 2014 my payments were $475.00 a month. I made a Big.........mistake about the contract I thought that I would have paid off "MY CAR" this year of November. The reason I say" MY CAR" because I paid over $9,975 Dollars of my hard earned money for a 2007 Jeep but my contact was for three years they said I still owe 11,825. When I found that I still had a year are more to go I was very upset. Because the Kelly blue book my car was only worth $2,000 to $3,000 dollars mind you I have already paid $9, 975.and I still owe 11,825 so you are telling me and other hard working people that a 2007-year car is worth 21,000 dollars or more and paying full coverage insurance, God forbid if anything would have happened to me," MY CAR" was not worth anything. Know to the point I work at a school and only get paid when I work, we don't get paid when school Is out. So that became a problem and that my Son had cosign for me and I need to make my payments because he had gotten health issues dealing with his Kidneys so I really, really wanted to make sure the I could make my payments did to want to add any stress on my son. They came and got" MY CAR" In August the worker who clean out my car took my $20.00 dollars and said It was not there but I receive a notice about my care being Repossession they had a list of things that I had in my car and the $20.00 dollar was listed that It was one of the items in my car. They have worker that steel for you also. Now they want to ruin my credibility on my credit report saying I own $15,559 this place need to "SHUT DOWN" who in their right mind pay's $ 21,000 dollars for a 2007 car. This place is taking advantage of people I don't know how the owner can sleep at night knowing they are Robbing and they are Thieves. If I could give this company no stars I would. What a waste of time. The target the people who have poor credit and they literally rip them off. They claim to be a company that helps you rebuild.... what a joke. the cars are in poor shape and they charge double if not triple of what they are actually worth. And don't even get me started on the "shop" and quality of workmanship and knowledge that they DON'T have. Please do not get sucked into this money trap! I highly suggest you run from this place. Bought a auto and in less than 24 hours it was in need of repairs. Their mechanics were supposed to fix the air the next day, not only did it quit working that same evening, they left the GPS box dangling under the drivers side, it also overheated. Still hasn't been fixed because they don't have a loaner car until repairs are done. Steve Howard,manager, is completely worthless. I don't know what owner/owners would have given him such a position, because managing is not one of his strong points. Have talked to him every day and still nothing is done. Once you sign the papers and they get your down payment, you're pretty much on your own.Have left a message for "Marvin" in the service department and still no call. Need to drop off car for repairs, but also need a car to drive while their mechanics are trying to fix this one. And this is in less than 1 week of getting the car. Have tried to get ahold of the owner/owners but no success there either. Run, do not walk, right past this place. Bad business and bad personnel. read more
