My husband and I have made two purchases from the Oak Factory the first was a chair and ottoman and every thing went just fine so a few months later when we wanted to purchase a sofa we returned to their store. When the day of delivery came they said they would be there BY 1:00. They didn't show up until after 3:00 so of course my whole day was wasted waiting around. We had written direction on how to get to our home which was as simple as a right turn off of a exit, right at the 1st street then right at the second street sound easy enough. Oh no they ran around our town for I don't know how long had to make two calls to us and then when they got there the one delivery guy wanted to question me on our exit number and I was thinking to myself I think I know what exit I live off of can't help they couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag. Then the other guy with the real attitude was so put out I guess because his day was running to long he started to put on one of the legs of our sofa and he split it with the drill because he was in such a rush but of course it wasn't his fault it was the legs. lol Then he wanted to use the restroom and left black marks all over the light switch and a half hung up the towel. You would have thought a child had been in there!! lol Then when he came back through in a rush to get out not a thank you or sorry or nothing. (What a jerk he was) Then we waited and waited to hear from the store that new legs were in no phone call. When I finally called I was told by the salesjerk I mean salesman the wrong color came in BUT then I was ask what color was the legs oak or a darker color. Hmmmmm If they knew the wrong color came in why did the salesjerk I mean salesman need to ask. We then waited and waited no phone call again so we went to the store the salesjerk I mean salesman say's I called you my husband says you didn't call us and with his smart ass attitude the salesjerk and I mean salesjerk say's yes I did. Then he shows us his little paper and it's NOT our phone number. Hmmmm like my husband said YOU DIDN'T CALL US!! lol I guess it never enter Mr. Attitudes mind to look at the delivery paperwork at least the delivery guys who couldn't find their way out of a paper bag could at least call the right number!! So even though the family that owns that store seem to be nice people I think we have made the last purchase with them that we will make. At least while they have jerks with attitudes working for them!! Sometimes it's forgotten that your employees are a reflection of YOU!! read more

Stopped by on a sunny afternoon with my family to browse and the wife finds a lovely little ottoman she thought would be perfect for the living room. We spend a few minutes looking over different fabric swatches, decided to go with the red leather it came in and even attempted to negotiate for price. The very polite sales person did the "let me talk to a manager" thing - pretty standard really, then told us it was already on sale and that was the best they could do. Sure, no problem, had to ask right? We loved it though and decided to buy it anyway. So, I grab the van, pull around front and wait. Five minutes later my wife comes outside with a grumpy look on her face. uh oh. Apparently the "manager, owner, older gentleman"of the store and the sales clerk get into an argument in front of my wife in which he states (to the sales clerk, not my wife because they ignored her during this exchange) that the sales price was wrong, it's supposed to be $150 more, yada yada etc. and so forth. The sales clerk very politely asked the older gentlemen if he would like to explain this to my wife, who by the way is five feet away the whole time, He said no. So, so did we. Rather disappointing experience from a local retailer, whom normally I love to support. I suppose this is why people shop online. Get your act together Oak Factory. I'm not sure what kind of sales tactics you are using but you made my wife feel as though she were shopping in a bazaar somewhere in the middle east. The only thing missing was camel poo. I absolutely have loved our experience with Oak Factory. We recently wanted a new bed for our guest room that also doubles as a study. I went in wanting a daybed or nice futon. The owner helped me look around and suggested a sleeper sofa given the dual purpose of the room. I found one I liked in our price range but wasn't completely convinced that was what I wanted. After thinking it over and talking with my husband, we purchased the sleeper sofa with the extra thick mattress. The owners threw in the stainguard free of charge for us and delivered it in a few days, set it up, and we were set. After about a month, though, we decided it wasn't what we wanted. The bed wasn't as comfortable as we had hoped. I called the store, they credited my account toward the purchase of a daybed with a trundle, arranged for pick up of the sofa, and did not charge us for the pickup of the sofa or delivery of the new daybed. We've been very pleased with the daybed, including a new mattress for it that we also purchased at Oak Factory. The owner's recommendation for the mattress was spot on! We will definitely shop there again! read more

I was looking for a smaller sofa for our cottage and spent a day going to every furniture store in the Lexington area. I started at the Oak Factory Outlet and ended up there after all my looking. I love that they don't charge extra for getting the sofa in a custom fabric. Most stores have a price on the sofa and then when you ask if you can get it in another color they show you what fabric you can get it in and that adds another $100 or more to the base price. Oak Factory Outlet lets you pick the fabric and it doesn't cost more. I special ordered just what I wanted and I picked it up at the store 2-3 weeks later. Most places needed 6-8 weeks lead time. All in all it was a very favorable experience. Next time I will not spend a whole day traveling to various furniture stores. I will just go to Oak Factory Outlet. It is in Brannon Crossing and is easy to get in and out of too. read more

Our experience at Oak Factory was outstanding. Working with the members of this family owned business was an absolute pleasure. Having the task of up-sizing our bed, Gene introduced us to the Amish furniture line, dad Mike (owner) with his expertise worked closely with us to perfect the correct stain and wood grain to match our 39 year old furniture. Denisa assisted with her experience and gracious patience while we decided on the best mattress and adjustable bed frame. And then there was Samantha...who was so friendly, polite and helpful with her opinions on our choices. I love doing business with people who care about making their business successful and their customers happy. I always have good luck finding what I need at Oak Factory and I love being informed instead of felling like I'm being conned. I've bought several items over the years and just recently had a problem. It was not a big deal and it was not the stores fault, so I was a little reluctant to bother. I was a little disappointed though, so I called. I spoke with the owner who made arrangements for a replacement. I did not have to call the manufacturer. , I did not have to talk to 5 people. I did not have to press 50 buttons in an automated system. One call and it was resolved. Awesome! read more

The staff is very friendly and the quality of furniture is awesome! We've purchased a king bedroom suit, a dinette set for our sunroom, a very nice dinette set with hutch, 2 sets of bar stools and reclining couch with USB ports that works great!!! The items purchased have been over the past 12 year or more but every encounter was a pleasant and enjoyable one. We didn't feel pressured to purchase and we were not followed around throughout our stay but was checked on a couple of times. We at time visit just to see what's new and that is how we have so many furnishing from Oak Factory, we tend to see something we like. My wife and I came here looking to buy a coffee table and two end tables. We walked around the store, not once being acknowledged by any staff member, even though we were the only ones in the store. The prices were extremely high, even with a so-called holiday sale. ($600 for a very small side table) It was only on our way out the door that someone asked if we found anything. We mentioned what we were looking for, and were told (in a very cold manner) that everything they had was on the floor. She barely looked up from her book. This is unacceptable. We were looking to buy furniture, and they were uninterested in helping us. We won't be returning. read more

I'm not sure why a few of the other people had poor experiences, but I know it shouldn't stop you from visiting the store and seeing their outstanding furniture for yourself. Instead of the cheap stuff that breaks in a year or two, Oak Factory sells quality, and all the sales people I have dealt with were very kind, unassuming, and helpful without being pushy at all. I like to stop by and browse on my own and I feel comfortable doing that there. The owners are also excellent people who will always treat you fairly. I was looking for a piece of furniture for my flat screen TV to sit on. I didn't see what I wanted on the floor, BUT Mike Cooper -the owner- helped me look through a furniture book/catalog and I immediately saw what I wanted. He ordered the cabinet I wanted and when it came in it was perfect! If you can't find what you want on the floor they will help find it for you. So much to choose from! My wife and I bought a sofa and loveseat at Oak Factory and have been very pleased with the quality and workmanship. We purchased the scotchguard because we have 2 small boys and thought the extra protection couldn't hurt. I love that you can walk in and look around without being dogged the whole time you are there. Prices are competitive with other stores in town. We went into Oak Factory looking for a specific item. There were no other customers in the store and we were not acknowledged by the staff until we were walking towards the door to leave. Even then when we mentioned what we were looking for the saleswoman seemed unwilling to help us find what we wanted. The prices seemed very high from what we saw as well.
