Lousy service. The woman who helped wasn't friendly and acted like I was bothering her when I asked questions

This is a great little sewing shop! I have been a regular customer for 14 years now and have found…read morethe staff to be so easy to work with. Always helpful and willing to share their expertise, they have taught me more about the ever-changing field of home sewing and machine embroidery than I ever thought i could learn. Sandy absolutely loves sewing and working with people and Vicki is the perfect associate. Their attention to detail and continuing education with Viking serve their clientele expertly. I am sorry Leslie did not have a good experience on her only visit there. She should drop by more frequently and get to know the staff and take a class or two. Then she will learn how accommodating they are. They freely share their knowledge and carefully guide their customers through difficult projects. Thread, scissors, and other basic sewing supplies are on hand to be shared freely in class. Other shops do not provide this kind of service; you must buy a new spool of thread and other accessories. Customers are also encouraged to drop in for help with a project, at no charge. (I understand that at least one other shop in Lexington requires an appointment for such help and charges a fee.) Technical assistance with software and help using the machines are also freely given. Sandy's son Will is a Viking certified technician and expertly handles repairs. One other comment to those who would judge any business on the basis of one visit: no one can please all the people all the time. Sandy has owned and operated her business very successfully for almost 30 years. She's doing something right!

He said he didn't know the arrangement that his mom made. He said to give him a couple of hours and he would have it done (1pm). I reminded him of the list of issues I needed addressed that I typed out and gave to Sandy. He said he would look for it. Approximately 3 hours later (at 2:30pm), I arrived to pick up my machine. He said it wasn't done, but that I could take it. I reminded him that: * I live far away * I couldn't return for several more days * I couldn't leave my laptop * And at the time of dropping off my machine, I was assured that 1 week was more than enough time to see about/repair any issues my machine was having He started yelling at me that his mom was sick today and he couldn't do it all. He was yelling, waving his arms around, stomping off and slamming stuff. He continued yelling at me in front of the customers in the store. When I got my machine in my hands, he said to "just get out and I'll do it for free just leave!" I was unable to have a calm conversation with him or was he willing to come to a solution. He continued yelling, "MY MOM IS SICK TODAY". Now I have to pay someone else for my Free First Cleaning/Maintenance on a machine I bought there 6 months prior. I left the store visibly upset. The verbal abuse was intense A customer was lost.

I love the style of this store with a mix of antiques and new items. The store contained many Lexington pictures such as maps of the city and horse pictures and signs. The style of the store was a hip rustic vibe and many new and beautiful rugs and furnishings. There was also bar ware and bourbon barrel heads and bourbon stave items. The place contained many cool tables, bars, shelving units and military pictures and tables. The owner Chad Tussey was helpful and gave me a card with the website. The website was well laid out with the items divided into categories: furniture, accessories, bourbon barrels, cover your walls, oriental rugs, lighting, stuff for your bar, Kentucky made soaps, candles, and food, architectural salvage, hats, shirts, socks, etc., grooming supplies, new relic finds, and sale items. I will be back and really enjoyed my visit.
