Wow, what a great place! We took the kids here the other day for a respite from the heat and some fun in the sun. I thought that we'd end up staying a couple of hours but we were there all day. Our kids had a blast there's so much to do inside and outside for little people, and they both fell asleep in their car seats on the way home. Thanks for a great day. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you've got a little guys.

This review is solely for the playground. The playground equipment is nothing out of the ordinary, but the reason why I like this particular park is because there is a lot of SHADE! So parents and caregivers can just relax and watch their kids play and not be beaten down by the hot Midwestern sun. It's so nice. Actually, there is a pretty neat feature about the playground, and that is the rolly slide. It's like a slide that looks like a conveyer belt, but instead of a belt it's made of rolling tubes. I'm not really describing it very well, but it's fun.

Worst place to come swim! Unreliable staff and rude manager. Do not bring your kids here. They shut the gate on us and did not let us swim.

Oak Brook Park District's bike path is beautiful- pictures don't do it justice!

Love this gym. Equipment and Facility is new and cleaned daily. Small community. Customer service is quite average though, could be better.

Great place to bring kids to play outside when the weather is nice. Could be cleaner though.

Review Highlights - Oak Brook Park District

So thank god for Oak brook's indoor running track - outdoor running this year, with the frigid temps and mucho snow, is not working for me.

A mom-of-two's (a toddler and preschooler) straight-forward review -…read more I am uncertain of the official name. It seems like the two names, Oakbrook Terrace and Heritage Park, are used interchangeably. Nonetheless, this was a random discovery when I was browsing Google Maps for playgrounds to check out and it is a definite keeper! The park is quietly tucked within a neighborhood. So far we have visited twice in the morning and there were very little people to share the space with. Although I would like the social factor and enjoy the bustle with running and laughing children, but the quietness is particularly beneficial to my firstborn's short attention span. It allows her to stay focused on her tennis lessons with her daddy. The tennis courts are well maintained and within walking distance of the playground. It is easy for us to toggle between the two. The playground appears to be recently renovated. There is a small section for toddlers and larger section for older kids. The space is well divided so the younger children can stay in their area without feeling intimidated. The flooring for both sections is a mix with some parts having wood chips and others having rubber. The rubbery ground is a uphill and down slope climb and it was a great way for my girls to run up and down to expense their endless energy. Otherwise, there is also the typical playground equipment such as slides, climbing ropes, ladders and spirals, and monkey bars. Side note - This playground is incredibly close to Frankie's Deli which is a favorite of ours!

Parking was a little challenging during my late April visit with all the beautiful flowers in bloom, but it was well worth parking a few blocks away and walking over for the experience. Scattered throughout the park are plenty of benches, a scenic lookout area, iron deer statue, and more. A stroll around the park is super relaxing here since you're surrounded by plenty of colors and pleasant aromas. Definitely a must visit for any tulip or lilac lover. Worth a special trip due to the quality of the park and the beautiful views.

I probably should come here more often, but I make sure to come at least 2 or 3 times a year. Once…read morein April for the tulips and daffodils, then in April/May once or twice for the lilacs, and finally in December for the lights. There are so many lilacs here, and the park just keeps going. You can smell them from across the street, and wandering the park when they're in bloom makes me unreasonably happy. So I check the Bloom-O-Meter on the park's website / social media and you should too. The wide variety of lilacs means they all start blooming at different times, so the joy lasts for weeks. There are also huge plantings of multiple varieties of tulips and daffodils - they're pretty sad by the time the lilacs really get going, but earlier they're beautiful too. During the official weekend of "Lilac Time" the local garden club will sell you your very own lilac, and possibly some other plants, too (convenient parking in the spots by the Metra if you're hauling plants). The Historical Society across the street stocks extra lilac stuff (postcards, shirts, keychains, etc.) when the lilacs are blooming, so hit them up too. The winter holiday lights are also magical and they keep them up a fairly long time (into January) - so if you didn't get around to seeing a light display, they got you. I don't recommend coming the night they turn them on as it's a mad crush, but there's a wide variety of different kinds of lights and it's well worth a trip when it's less crowded. Lights are on until 10pm - most of the little kids are gone by 7pm or so. Street parking usually available, or the lot at the Historical Society is free after 11am.
