My family and I were visiting relatives in the Chicago area and we decided to go to the splash pad this park. Admission was $4 per child (chaperones weren't charged) and it wasn't too crowded! I thought it was a great area with lots to do. My only gripe is that there wasn't a little bit more shade in the play area where the actual splash pad was. Definitely a fun visit for out of towners or people that live near the city! read more

One of my favorite parks. Beautiful surrounding of nature. Very peaceful. I'm always caught up in serenity when I come here. I enjoy the nice relax walks and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. There is a waterpark for the kiddies to splash around in the water. Great for a picnic with the family or a romantic picnic. There is a hill where you can climb and roll back down if your too tired to walk back down. Pond with beautiful ducks and birds flying around. Walk along the trails while enjoying nature. There are many beaches for you to sit on and take in a breathe of fresh air. read more

I finally got to actually be inside this park! I've driven past it a million times On my way to work but never have had the chance to stop. Today my Grand and I came by here and thought oh well there a spot she'd love! I was blown away how wonderful it was for a community park! Her personal favorite was the skyline jump? That kept my Grand entertained for hours! We didn't go into the little water/spray park part because we didn't have our bathing suits. Next time for sure! This is a beautiful park outside the city of Chicago. There is a new zip line for the kids to use plus to playgrounds. They also have a water play area for young children to play in. There's picnic tables around the park plus a pavilion with a lot more tables there. This location has a volleyball net and your allowed to barbecue here too! There's a lot of parking spaces, but when there's an event the spaces tend to fill up fast. Everyone visiting and working at the park have always been friendly! read more

The nicest park I've ever been to. Great for both kids and adults. Gorgeously landscaped.

I am embarrassed that I never once heard or stepped foot here. Thanks to a friend whom opened my eyes to the beautiful westmont park. I started walking my 1 year old dog here to burn off his spirited energy. It turns out I was the one huffing and puffing, this place is huge. Today I arrived super early and the park was rather quiet. I love the hill top seating where I can tie my pooch to the bench and real get a birds eye view of the landscape. While other parks have so much goose poop where its hard to walk a dog, TY Warner Park is so much better. I would like to give kudos to the friendly grounds crew for keeping the park super clean. I know I am mostly reviewing the dog scene here however there is so much other activities for kids. The playground, splash pad, water fountain and fields will certainly tire out your child after an afternoon here. read more

Beautiful space for an afternoon of walking the lovely paths and cooling off playing in the accessible splash pad. I accompanied a school group here on a field trip, approximately 50 children with special needs plus teachers, therapists and support personnel. We had a fabulous day. The park staff was very welcoming and helpful. The covered pavilion worked well for our picnic lunches. Everything was clean and well-tended. I can't recall the entry fee per child for the splash pad, but it was reasonable, perhaps $5. Totally worth it. I can't wait to come back with my own children. read more

This is one of the best parks I've been to in suburbia. Splash Pad, really awesome baseball fields, a pavilion with a fireplace and a great playground set up. They are also adjacent to the annual Westmont BBQfest. It's really beautiful. read more

I love this park it's my favorite to hang with friends or chill alone it has many great fields and three different fun parks including a splash play area. If you want a place to chill and relax I definitely recommend the hill inside the park it's peaceful.But I gave it 3 stars because once me and my friends went there at around 8 to chill since the park closes at 10 and wanted to hang for a few but a big guy with a park district shirt came up to us on his golf cart and said we had to leave while we were in the pavilion there was nobody else there so we were laughing and playing some music but he told us to leave we asked y and he just said leave now so we were like whatever and turned the music off and started walking away but then he started trailing us with his cart till we got in our cars. My husband and I love this park and frequently have lunch here on nice days. It's clean, beautiful, and very well-maintained. Every summer, they have free concerts at the gazebo and we will check it out for the first time this year. Really looking forward to it. The person who was irate about her dogs not being allowed on the walls needs to recognize that rules are there for the overall good. In my opinion, not coming back to the park is their loss, not to mention their dogs'. read more

Splash pad was super fun for my 7 and 1 1/2 year old. $5 a kid and open until 8PM which was perfect. Park was beautiful as usual-my only negative was the newer zip line area had a severely strong sewage smell and parks of the grass and wood chips were swampy with a cloudy liquid. We did just have a couple of days of rainy weather prior, but I wouldn't let me kids play there because of concern that it was contaminated. That was our only disappointment, otherwise fun, beautiful park with options for all ages. read more

Review is for splash park only. This is an awesome place to take the kiddos in the summer! Small fee to pay per child and swimsuit is required. Why only 3 stars? There isn't much seating... adults have to "fight" a bit over saving chairs and space when it gets crowded. And the other star knock off was the teenage girl who was checking us in. My son was wearing swim gear that was of atypical material. The teenage girl was giving me attitude saying he had to wear the "typical" swim gear with the typical material. I stated, I bought this stuff at the Disney Store in the swim section! This IS a swim suit! She let us in, but not without a bit of attitude. Just left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Named in honor of the Beanie Baby King, this spacious and beautiful park of the Westmont Park District, is by far one of my favorite to get lost in. You can find something for everyone. All throughout June, I took advantage of free weekday concerts in the park. Held in the large pavilion area, they had a good deal of picnic tables set up under a few tents, and great views also from the grassy areas where you can spread out a blanket and enjoy a nice outdoor lunch lunch. There was also a splash-pad area for children, plenty of open green space (hills included), at least six baseball diamonds, a soccer/football field, a neat and clean concession and restroom area, and a beautiful fountain right at the center of this massive park. read more

Here is a quick rundown off all the stuff here: --3 baseball fields --Concession stand --Real bathrooms, not portapotties, including wheelchair accessible stalls --Zero-depth splash pad --Gazebo --Big kid playground --Toddler playground with sand --Sand volleyball --Picnic area --Paved woodland and wetland trails --2 tennis courts --Bocce ball court --Bags area --Outdoor exercise stations --Rolling hills --Soccer/football field I'm probably missing something! In the summer, this park is beyond beautiful because of the way they've preserved the natural setting. There are small streams and ponds that attract friendly ducks, who will waddle quite near the delighted children. Large plots of swaying lavender attract bumblebees (my favorite type of bee, because they look drunk all the time). Trees of different types and sizes offer shade for picnics. My kid doesn't really care much about any of that, though. She wants to go right to the splash pad! Because there is no standing water, I can just let her run around through the jets, misters, and sprayers. The non-slip surface makes it even safer. Kids are free, and if you don't live in Westmont, adults cost $5. If you bring an infant who cannot walk, though, they will not charge you since you must assist the child. This is the only part of the park that charges admission, and they give you a wrist band so you can move throughout the park as you please without being charged again if you return on the same day. The concession stand was not stocked very well on my visit, but they did have my beloved soft pretzels, so I can't quite bring myself to dock them a star for it. read more

I used to love going out for runs in Ty Warner Park. There's a nice asphalt walkway all the way around the perimeter. Clean and well-maintained grounds. The Westmont Parks Department also does a nice job of keeping the walkway clear during the winter, so it's usable year round. There are baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and a soccer field on the grounds as well, so there's something for everybody. I've even seen sledding going in during winter months. If there's a downside, it can get a little busy when the weather warms up, but overall it's a really nice place. read more

I want to give this place 5 stars. It is beautiful, well-maintained, fun for everyone, and a total asset to the Westmont and surrounding communities. The landscaping is beautiful but not burdensome. The playground equipment is unique and colorful. The trails are paved and easy to walk, and you meet upon some gorgeous little ponds, trees, and pavilions while walking the paths. But I had an experience here last night that was so incredibly rude and disrespectful, I don't think I will ever return. Sad. My dogs attend training at a facility that on Tuesday nights in the summer, holds "pack walks." They're probably the highlight of my week in the summertime - absolutely any dog is welcome to join, meaning my very dog reactive pup can get out and enjoy 90 minutes of being a dog without me fearing he will eat someone. Certified trainers guide is through a different locale each week, and it's a blast. Last night, we met at Ty Warner, and I was SO excited. I couldn't wait for Hamish to experience this super fun park and all it had to offer. We were all leashed up and ready to go at about 7:30, and though the rain was a factor, it didn't dissuade us. About ten of us and our pooches were off for a walk. As soon as we started, a large, old, mean man in a bright orange park district ensemble drove up to us on his trusty golf cart. Because we weren't doing anything wrong, we basically ignored him and went on our way. Two minutes later, he stopped his cart and shouted at a walker. "Uhhh... Are you gonna PICK THAT UP?!" We all looked back in shock that we could miss a great Dane's poop, but we hadn't. "She just peed... There's nothing to pick up," we advised him. He grunted and paced us for several hundred more feet. My dog is terrified of golf carts and was freaking. OUT. But dude didn't seem to mind. Finally, he drove off and we could focus and continue. About 30 mins later, we were doing a confidence exercise wherein the dogs stood on the brick walls, about 3 ft high, surrounding the pavilion. All of a sudden, the golf cart comes charging up. "EVERYONE GET YOUR DOG OFF OF THE WALLS AND GET OUT OF HERE." Um excuse me what? The park was empty, wet, and rainy, and we weren't bothering anyone. The wall has no other use than just existing. I was furious at this point, and you can imagine my anger when he trailed us back literally to our cars, and sat and stared as we stood in the parking lot, discussing how we're never going to return. I thought that the purpose of a dog friendly park is to enjoy the park with your dog, but apparently MallCop McParkPolice thinks otherwise. His downright abrasion to our entire group was infuriating, and I simply won't return if that's how we're going to be treated. I plan to tell my vast network of dog loving friends to do the same. And while I recognize that use of this park is free and I'm not "hurting their business," by writing this review, I'd hope it will A. Serve as a warning to fellow dog owners as to how you can expect to be treated here, and B. Send a message, maybe/hopefully/possibly, to the park district, that employing people like this guy is a detriment to not just the park, but the community and it's reputation. Maybe I'm being a crazy dog lady. Maybe I'm just grumpy. Maybe I HATE golf carts. But I feel like no one deserves to be treated like garbage for walking their dog. read more

I love this park... splash pad, playground, sand, pavilion, walking trails... non-revolting bathrooms that my child can use without a rubbing alcohol bath... Perhaps best of all... there are hills in which to ROLL down at rapid rates of speed. My daughter LOVES this park. read more

Ty Warner Park is the largest park in the district totalling 36 acres and offers a large variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. At its core are three multi-purpose ballfields anchored by a concession building complete with handicapped accessible washrooms. Adjacent to this area is a courtyard laid out with benches, decorative lighting, stone masonry and brick work. Nearby is a large garden gazebo on a great lawn that can accomodate public gatherings and is host to our annual summer series of "Concerts in the park". Patrons of these functions will be surrounded in the traditional formal garden setting defined by a decorative fountain, park benches and path lighting. read more

Great local park. Path is 1.1 miles so it's a great place to train for a 5k. Westmont will soon be adding their park district a central point of the park so I'm not sure what will happen to design. They did win a grant though from state so I am thinking it will be nice! read more

I love this place! It is an excellent place to get out of the house and go for a walk. I come here whenever I'm frustrated or stressed. It's always refreshing to come here to get fresh air and relax. The park is not too large, but by no means small either. There are rarely any people around unless if they are hosting some event, such as a soccer game. It is well maintained, and a very beautiful park. My favorite spot is near the hill at the corner of the park, where you can watch all the squirrels and ducks. A great place to "get away" and relax. read more

For 5 plus years now we rent out the gazebo and have a picnic every year. Every year I've brought my dog and clean up after him and he's a small/medium sized dog. We NEVER had an issue having the dog inside the structure to cool down from the heat. The park attendant today was extremely RUDE this time threatening to shut down the party if the dog was inside the structure. It's 90 degrees sweltering HOT outside and he wants you to walk around on black HOT tar with your dog! I'm sorry but this JERK needs to walk around on that tar path BAREFOOT to experience what a dog has to! So sad that this once dog friendly establishment is NO LONGER dog friendly!!! For next years picnic we will be looking for a FRIENDLIER not rude establishment. Will not be returning to such a RUDE establishment! read more

I took my family to this park over the Memorial Day weekend and we had a blast! I did not know that they charged a fee to enter ($5/kid) but that was fine for me as it was a very comfortable place for adults to sit and watch the kids run around and play. They have a great area for sand, with things to actually play with as well. The amount of seating is awesome and its covered seating so you're not baking in the sun! The walking trails, the covered pavilion, easy access to parking, and real bathrooms were all great. I will be back there for sure. read more

reviewing the splash pad! my only complaint is the price. it's definitely over priced for what you get (only a splash pad, no pool, no staff except those collecting $$). compared to other places, it should be maybe $2 or $3 if anything. some similar places are free. otherwise, SO FUN! the water features are awesome (except the music maker with the annoying geese sound!). love that the ground is soft and not cement. tons of giant umbrellas. nice pavilion area right outside where you can eat lunch if you want to spread out. my 1 year old loved this when he was crawling and now that he is walking. we have a great time and will return for sure! read more

Ty Warner Park has something for everyone. From the very young to the very old, everyone can enjoy this park. Before this land became a park I walked my dogs there. I was worried that the land would be used as something commercial and was very pleased when I knew my dogs could still enjoy this beautiful land in Westmont. read more

This was a great park/splashpad for my almost three year old. It's really good for all ages, though. There were little babies up to kids about 10 y/o. Plenty of space to run around and splash as well as lots of chairs under umbrellas and shaded areas to sit. More than enough room to bring a stroller too- almost everyone there had one. Everyone brings their own pool/Beach toys (none are provided). It's $5 for non-residents, $3 for residents and adults are free. You can bring a picnic lunch and eat it on the deck of the splash pad or under the shaded gazebo-lots of seating ! There are also two parks around the splash pad. One looked like it was for older, school-aged children with woodchips and the other had lots of equipment for little kiddos (5 and under or so) with a sandy ground to play in. The playground wasn't as shaded though. You can go back and forth between and parks and splash pad as much as you want as long as your child is wearing a wristband. The landscaping is beautiful, gorgeous running paths that are well-maintained. There are nice, clean bathrooms - but they're over by the baseball fields. They're not that close to the splash pad or parks (about a five minute walk away, hence four stars, not five). It's a great spot to spend a few hours. Safe , very clean, and fun! read more
