My doctor , Dr Thomas Shoenhofen sent me to Dr. McCall due to the severeness of the injuries caused by the falls. I made an appointment for the first available time nevertheless, the pain, swelling, numbness , tingling and color changes prompted me to ask to be seen by Dr. McCall as a "Walk-In", which is offered to patients unable to wait for an appointment. I was shocked, when the receptionist demanded I pay $350 in order to be put on Dr. McCall's waiting list, because she claimed my Medicare was suspended. I was not only humiliated and embarrassed by the receptionists ( there were 2 of them)., but also spoken to rudely and with no empathy whatsoever in front of a room full of waiting patients. I had no choice but to pay the money because of all the pain, etc. After paying the $350 on my Visa Nordstrom Credit Card and waiting more than 2 and a half hours, Dr McCall did nothing but look at mt leg and say there was nothing he could do to help. He asked if I had a wrap at home my reply was "no". He then wrapped the leg and said to see him in 2 weeks " But only if my leg was not better. We don't need to just visit" I then mentioned to him about the unprofessionalism of his receptionists. He stated " Isn't it nice to be able to be seen by the doctor as a walk-in? The therapist (ATI) recommended by Hinsdale Orthopedics was totally incompetent but I was JUST getting my range of motion back and the MUA caused swelling putting me back to square one. Had he not done that, I would've gotten my ROM back. Insurance dropped me because I "wasn't making progress". I fell into deep depression as I was an extreme athlete and now I'm a cripple with a cane.

When you enter the building, there are many signs directing you to the various areas in the building. MRIs, physical therapy, surgeries, as well as doctor appointments are all in this facility. There are chairs in the waiting room that are made for tall people. They are easy to get in and out of. I love it. The rooms are all clean and bright. It's part of the outpatient section of Central DuPage Hospital. It looks very nice, the chairs are nice and cushy, but it is FREEZING in there! Bring a jacket. The paper robe in the offices don't cut it. I was desperate! We saw Dr. Kiesler for the last broken wrist as well as this one and really like how thorough he is in his explanations. We had a choice between a splint and a cast and my son openly admitted that he had to have a cast because he would take the splint off a lot. Rather than lecture on the subject, the doctor accepted it and moved on. The staff was very thorough with all the cast preparations including explaining to me that the waterproof option was not always covered by insurance. Its covered by my insurance, well at least for now. Dr. Kiesler put the cast on himself which I really appreciated. The parking can be confusing here. Park in lot 1 and then go in the outpatient building and up to the 5th floor. Don't forget that jacket!

The doctor showed us the elbow x-ray no rheumatoid was present and without dismay he assured my husband that with just simple exercise with time the pain was going to be fine. The discharge nurse was so helpful too. She showed us the elbow bracelet and showed us how to use it very professional. The procedure went very well and my pain was very well controlled by the meds that Dr Mochel prescribed. I was driving and back to work in 5 weeks!
