Located on Spurriergate in the centre of York, this branch of O2 is a fairly small store compared to the O2 stores I'm used to seeing more local to me, where I live in Manchester. I came here to take advantage of an O2 Priority offer which gave me a rather good saving on a portable phone charger for my Iphone X, the offer on the app was made out to be something spectacular, but still it wasn't a fantastic offer and simply brought the price down to the price other retailers such as large department store chain John Lewis were selling it for.
The store is accessed through a fairly narrow door which was closed on my visit, I don't find this really welcoming from a store although with the store being outside, and being on Spurriergate in York, the doors are needed but perhaps a larger and perhaps automatic door similar to what O2 have in other locations, even other outdoor locations would be nicer for the store and of course more welcoming.
The store had a small range of merchandise, I did originally struggle to find the portable chargers at first so I had to ask a member of staff to help me with it, I eventually found one and managed to complete my purchase again not without difficulty - I struggled to get a signal in the store originally and I'm an O2 customer! This meant it took a little while to load the code from the app, which I couldn't load in advance because of course like all O2 Priority offers, it expires after a certain time frame.
Staff seemed nice enough although the dinky, compact store size didn't seem too welcoming or modern compared to other stores which I'm used to, although the staff member who served me seemed nice and friendly enough problems still lie with the store to the point I feel O2 on Spurriergate in York just deserves a rating towards the higher end of the two-star accredication. read more
