My husband and I came here for our last lunch in Paris. We have been traveling on our honeymoon for 3 weeks and have been to 5 different countries. We have had the most amazing time and have been welcomed and treated with respect everywhere we have been. Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, and France.
We walked into the restaurant and we were immediately welcomed by the manager and seated. He was very friendly asking if we needed an English menu which we accepted and thanked him. He took our drink and food order, all was wonderful.
Soon after putting our pizza order in the wait staff started shouting, in French, "Americano this, Americano that." The manager then replied back, "Americano this Americano that." We realized they were talking about us being there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant. So, interested in what we had done wrong, we turned on our google translator. Any decent human would be appalled by what they were saying about us.
A nearby table that was finished was so upset but the way they were treating us they got up to pay and looked over at us and shook their heads like they were sorry that we were being treated so poorly.
My advice to the restaurant staff is to be careful what you say because translation technology is available to anyone and you were completely disrespectful and inappropriate.
I have never in all the countries I've traveled been treated with such disgust or disrespect. We did not deserve what you were saying to us by any means. How dare you treat any paying customer that way!
I would never recommend your restaurant to anyone. Your entire staff shouted and laughed at us throughout our entire meal! It was embarrassing and very saddening especially for your other guests trying to enjoy their meals.
Also, anywhere else you would be called a coward for not having the decency to say it to us to our faces. read more
