Man, my car has been fussy lately.. check engine light came on and could feel that my Mini Cooper…read morewas not running right. Dropped my car off same night (convenient drop box for keys on the side of the building - yay) and got a diagnostic the next morning. Bob was super cool, and it is very comforting to know that this shop knows Minis. It doesn't hurt that they are right across the street from my house and I have only heard good things. Turns out I needed to replace some spark plugs and I decided to replace the ignition coils while we were at it. So glad I did since my car runs fantastically now - I can tell a huge difference from even driving it a year ago. Super smooth. Thank you guys! Will be back, just not too soon hopefully.

There was zero reason to have it that long, and there were no updates from these guys, I had to call every day, multiple times per day. I kept being told they would give me a call back, which never happened. They ordered a part for me and it got sent to the wrong store, because they have 3 names: Milex, Mr. transmission, and also Protech. Too much room for confusion, too much miscommunication. I would never take my car there again, and the owner (Bob) needs to retire and stop being creepy toward women. He's made multiple remarks about my mother that are extremely uncomfortable and creepy as hell.

Advanced Automotive of Oregon - They did a perfect alignment job on my 2ZZ-GE MR2 Spyder. Cleanest shop I have seen.

Overdue review from this past January. Our son had recently moved into the area and didn't know…read moreany good repair shops. We flew in to Portland from Hawaii to help him move. We chose this shop due to Yelp's 5 star reviews and were not disapppointed. Our son's car needed the basic oil/filter change, rotate tires, brake checks, and the transmission fluid replaced. We also had a busy schedule and we're not able to pick up the car before they closed. They suggested we pay the bill over the phone and we arranged to have the car parked and locked in their parking lot (since we had a set of extra keys); which was perfect. At least our son now has a shop he can depend on for future maintenance; which will be soon. :)

After looking at a couple different shops based on reviews, we went with Advanced Automotive to do…read morea pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle we were interested in buying (2017 Suburban Premier). After a few hours they called and went over the couple issues they had found and should be replaced which they were very nice and helpful. They found that one control arm had some play in it and should be replaced, the brake vacuum was bad, and one of the window switches auto up didn't work. After taking this to the dealer they fixed the issue and all was well. After driving 100 miles back home we noticed the car didn't handle any bumps or turns very well. We took it to a local mechanic where they found the following wrong with it- Self leveling shock system (air bags and shocks) torn and blown out- $1500 Compressor for shocks burnt out and hasn't been operational for a long time- $1000 Upper passenger control arm causing stability issues and creaking (needs replaced and alignment)- $950 We paid $199 to have them check the important components of a car before buying. Now we are stuck with a bill totaling over $3000 on a vehicle with less than 150 miles from us driving it. Do not take your car here for pre-purchase inspections. These are all common failure points for this vehicle with this many miles as confirmed with multiple other trusted local mechanics in our area. The least they could do is refund this inspection fee to help cover the cost of repairs of a car we wouldn't have bought in the first place if due diligence was done as we trusted it would be.

Excellent and quick service!…read more Our van had suddenly started running rough and the engine light came on. The folks at Sherwood Auto took us in right away, did a full evaluation, and explained all of our options with very affordable pricing. Our van is working like new after their service. They are a full service shop and extremely professional. You can feel confident they will take great care of you.

The quotes did not separate out the cost of parts from the cost of labor. Their prices were higher than the two other quotes I'd received, but I still got the brakes done there. Customer service at the front desk/on the phone was friendly. They paid for an Uber to bring me back to the shop since their courtesy vehicle wasn't available at that time. When another mechanic reviewed some of the work they recommended, it sounded like they may have been overzealous in their thorough examination/recommendations. For example, the drive belt has the beginnings of a minor crack but it sounds like it's probably not going to be an issue for 20,000 miles. They also asked for a review multiple times after the service. Final answer: They aren't (and don't claim to be) the affordable option, but their service advisors were pleasant and I felt like they didn't try to pressure me into more services once I said no/defer to most recs.
