Jim O'Neill and his team replaced my sinking flagstone walkway. They did a superb job. The finished walkway is sturdy and beautiful!

We've been battling water leakage in our living room for years. We've had several contractors…read more(roofing, window, etc) try to find the source of the problem to no avail. Ultimately they suggested it could be a problem with the stones in the wall. Disciple came out, recommended a strategy of replacing a couple of stones, re-pointing the rest of the area and applying sealant over the whole section. Work was scheduled promptly. The guys were very friendly and professional. The job was finished within 10 days (mortar needed to cure before sealant could be applied) and it looks great. Now we have to wait for a horrific rainstorm to see if that solves the problem.

Asked for an estimate for a 2x2 section of stucco that needed repair/replacing. The employee who…read morecame to see my home (I believe his name was Charles) provided a few details about what they would do but said he'd get back to me with an estimate "later today or tomorrow". After a week, I called to follow up and was told I'd hear back "later that day or the next." After another week of no contact, I called back again and spoke to a man named Nathan who told me that he would follow up with me (you guessed it) "later that day or the next". Still no call or text. Very frustrating as it's raining a lot lately and we want our external stucco wall repaired before any water damage occurs. I guess maybe they don't need my business? Can't say anything about their work but this customer service experience makes me question their reliability and attention to detail. Your experience may vary, but this was mine, for what it's worth.

I hired the Alston team to give my house a facelift last summer. They did a stucco brick face on…read morethe front and regular stucco on the back. When they were done, it looked like a whole different house. Its beautiful and I'm more than satisfied with how it turned out. I have a 100 year old brick townhouse in Philadelphia and the brick was crumbling when I started to work on it myself. For those that don't want to lose the historic look of a brick home but can't afford to have it repointed, this is the best solution. You would never know that the brick front wasn't original. The work was done quickly and the final product is stunning. I wold recommend getting work from Alston Stucco to anyone I know. See the photos of my red brick home in the photos section.

Zack came out to quote a chimney stucco repair. We signed a work agreement for $5500 and I gave him…read morea $500 check. Later that same evening, he texted that he showed the pictures to his partner and they "needed" another $1000 to complete the job. I responded that for $1000 more, I wanted to get other quotes prior to proceeding. I did get another quote from a stucco guy highly recommended by my builder for $3500. Texted Zack back, saying I wasn't comfortable working with someone who changes their price after a signed agreement. Said he could keep travel expenses and return the rest of the deposit. He claimed he had already bought all the supplies. Who buys supplies when they are told the job was on hold? Anyway, they are evidently going to keep my $500. Fine, I have a stucco guy I can trust and am still $1500 ahead.

I'm going to start this off with positive vibes. Mike Gallagher was very nice and prompt with…read morereturning calls. He came right out to give us a quote, which was a very reasonable quote. But the whole process which has been going on for over a month now has been terrible. Our wall was falling and the steps were separating from the wall. So we decided to finally get them redone. We had steps and a stone wall. We met with Mike and he gave us options of material for the wall. We picked bricks and of course they weren't in stock so we asked to wait for them to be in stock rather than picking new ones. Mike was fine with that. Him and his crew started with the demo. They learned that our original wall didn't have a footer so he had to add a footer to the price. Okay. Not a problem. Paid a deposit via his website which was easy. He started to do the steps. Looking at them they were uneven and crooked. Mike claimed they weren't done and then decided he wanted to bull nose the steps. Instead of demoing the steps completely, he chipped up the first layer and added new concrete to add the bull nose and level them out. They look absolutely horrible. They are two different colors. Not smooth and still uneven. Might i also add that they claimed steps are their specialty. The wall looked nice when they were done with it. But the more you look at it you began to notice small things that made you say, hmmm... The new wall was smaller than our original wall. And one side was shorter than our original wall. Okay. Whatever. There also was only one or two mesh areas for water to drain. Paid him in full PLUS a nice tip. Thought, okay. Whatever. We'll fix the steps next yr. But after our first rain storm issues began to arrise. We noticed that one of the caps on the wall was cracked. Which then soon broke. We also noticed that the caps are NOT secured. We could lift just about every one. Now we're very annoyed. Mike comes back to fix everything. But he managed to make it look worse. The cracked one was never fixed (as of 10/4.) The mortar that he used was just plopped ontop of the bricks and not cleaned up or smoothed out. There are holes between my caps and bricks. We legit can see through it. They are lifted and just look terrible! There is mortar pouring over the sides. The caps aren't straight anymore either. They are shifted when they used to be at least pretty straight. Not to mention the mess they left. Dirt everywhere. Cement all over my driveway that we are now having to chip up and power wash everything. I was so excited to improve the outside of my house and now it looks worse than before. I do not recommend Gallagher Masonry unless you don't care about things being straight, done well and cleaned up.

I worked with the Grimaldi team when I moved in to my home in southern NJ back in 2016. They did…read moresome joist reinforcements, remodeled a bathroom, covered fascia boards on my roof, and repaired cracked cinderblocks. Since then, I've discovered all the things that were wrong with the job - the latest of which was today: 1) They beam reinforcements broke through my upstairs floor, so it's not level and we've had to build over and around it since (they used a steel i-beam, so not able to replace or repair easily); 2) The cinder block repairs were unnecessary- what I needed was a foundation repair; 3) They broke boards in the floor while jacking the ceiling and did a shoddy job throwing 2x4 in place that wasn't flush with the floor; 4) In the bathroom, they didn't repair the toilet properly, so I had three wax rings and a toilet that was connected to nothing (started leaking into my ceiling last week, now getting repaired properly by a plumber). 5) When they did the work, because I paid Mark up front, what should have been done in a few weeks took about three months. He'd go for long periods with his guys not showing up before they'd come back. Having now done more real estate investing and remodeling, I recognize that he was probably upside down on cash flow and was doing jobs to keep paying his guys and slotting us in where he could. There are some other items, but I strongly recommend that you look for another contractor for any serious job you do.
