Dan was initially very responsive when I reached out about repairing a section of my sidewalk. He came out quickly and let me know that he would put me on the schedule for the work. However, after that initial visit, I did not receive any follow-up. I attempted to call to check on the status of the estimate and next steps, but my call was not returned and I have not heard back since. While the initial interaction was positive, the lack of communication and follow-through after being told I would be scheduled was disappointing. read more

I hired Dan to re-apply stucco to my chimney. The top surface started to crack permitting rain to enter the structure. After repeated attempts to contact Dan by email and phone, no one would call me back. I now find myself looking for a lawyer to make them repair what they installed. I needed my crumbling chimney re stuccoed. Dan came out and gave me a fair estimate for repair or for redoing. I had it redone based his his expert explanation and comparison between the two. A week or so later, his crew did a fantastic job, it looks brand new. they even added a row of bricks at the top which was a nice touch. They cleaned everything up well too. This guy is a complete fraud. Please do NOT ever think of hiring Dan Carpino. The guy is a straight fraud. He came out for the estimate very quickly and gave me a price. We talked and he planned to come out 6 months ago. He setup a date/time and no call no showed. He ghosted me for 2 weeks. When I finally got ahold of him he gave me every excuse in the book. he then said he was going to come 2 months ago and once again no call no show. This guy is a total fraud. After setting up four different days/times he continues to no show and has still not called or showed up to complete the work. If I could leave a zero score I definitely would. After waiting for him to show up 5 different times, I gave up and called someone else. Called to get an estimate of work I needed done and got an answering machine. I left a message to call me and he did later that night. We set up an appointment for 9:30 the next morning and instead he called and said he was tied up on a job and would be there at 10:30. Well, he never showed up, never called or contacted me. Dan seemed like a nice enough, down to earth guy....gave me an estimate....I agreed....and after not showing up when he said he would...he apologized and promised me that his crew would be there 100% on Monday, which also happened to be my birthday for which I cancelled plans in anticipation of having the work done. I waited 9 hours. Did you see them? Not only did no one show up...he never called. I left another message asking him to just let me know if he intends to do the work...or not....so not to leave me hanging because I needed the work done before an event at my home. Did you hear from him this time....because once again...I never did. Completely unreliable and dishonest. Never use this contractor. Dan failed to show up as scheduled on more than 6 occasions. He never called to postpone, but only responded after multiple attempts to reach him on each occasions. When he finally showed up, he explained that his budget was low and asked for more money up front (should have been a big red flag), his crew was consistently late, damaged property with no acceptance of responsibility, and did shoddy work. He was supposed to have matched existing concrete and instead installed something that not only doesn't match, but is itself discolored, cracked, rough and stained. When confronted, he offered only excuses and has failed to refund or correct. read more

Hired Carpino Contractors to redo my front porch. The day that the work was done rust colored staining was visible along the front of the slab that was poured and we're told that it would go away after 6 weeks of drying! It did not and Dan Carpino came out to review and stated that he would acid wash the surface and it should remove the staining. Nothing further happened so I reported him to the Better Business Bureau. After multiple contact attempts were ignored the Better Business Bureau closed the case so buyer beware! read more

Carpino Contractors just replaced our front landing, steps and a curved pathway and cosmetic work on rear retention walls. In addition , is returning to replace rear steps. The price was the most competitive out of (3) estimates. The crew was courteous and respectful. Clean-up after the job was completed was excellent. I'd give five stars for the work. One less for the time it took to complete. He delayed the installation for several weeks, but when it was complete it was lovely. Furthermore, he crew reused the brick from our old, bear-up, weathered walkway. Our friends and relatives now have an aesthetically pleasing, easy to use walkway leading to our front door. I was forced to give a star, but I wish I didn't have to. One of the most unprofessional contractors I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to work with. After the first time he said he'd be out and didn't contact to confirm, I called Dan Carpino and learned he couldn't come out then. I rescheduled and asked him to provide me a copy of his insurance certificate prior to coming out. I was told he was sending it. Less than 24 hours before he was supposed to come on site for the 2nd scheduled time, I still had no insurance certificate. So I had to make another call to him to get this straightened out AND reschedule for a 3rd time. I thought we finally had things scheduled per his email to me agreeing to show up today, but again Dan was a no-call / no-show. I should've expected this to happen since he never responded to my calls / emails for 2 days this week attempting to confirm for today. Leads me to believe he never had any intention of showing up as he said he would. I called Dan and, as expected, received nothing but excuses from claims that he never received my emails to claims that he had attempted to email me to confirm for Friday. When I asked why he didn't call, he didn't have an answer. If you're planning a project to be completed in the next decade and don't mind having to constantly follow-up with someone you've supposedly entered into a contract with, Dan might be your guy. But if you need something done now, I would recommend not even wasting your time having him out for an estimate. read more
