As my husband and I strolled along the Cannes boardwalk, stopping in for glasses of wine here and there, a gal working for O'Key Beach was at the entrance to the restaurant trying to coax us in. She wasn't aggressive by any means. She was super friendly, and told us about the specials and the fresh quality of the fish. We really weren't uber hungry, and just wanted a couple of glasses of wine.
Honestly, if she had not been there, we wouldn't have stopped in simply because there are so many beachside restaurants all lined up and and down Cannes Croisette and we had just had some wine and cheese a couple of doors down.
Service was good, and even though we only wanted some wine, we did take a gander at the menu. My initial turn-off was the plastic laminated menus. Here I was, in beautiful Cannes, but the menu felt like I was at an American chain. I don't mean that the food on the menu appeared that way; I mean that the actual menu itself just looked Americanized in a way, and was a turn-off.
O'Key Beach is in a fantastic location, right on the beach, with really friendly and outgoing people. read more
