We all went in for initial visits for X-rays and came out being told one of my kids had 14 cavities when she hadn't had a single one in years. She then goes in to have work done on some of them, only to have pain and a problem with her bite as soon as the numbing wore off. She has been back three times to fix it and still is having a problem. Why does it take so long to get a minor filling corrected??? Never have we experienced such trouble. Even to the point that when I cancelled another appointment for myself because I wasn't comfortable with possibly having to return multiple times as well, the dentist told me I needed to call and let them know. I spoke to them in person but instead of discussing with the front staff, she decided to be upset with me directly. When I told the staff that I wasn't comfortable with having work done, they still tried to push me into it by saying that the dentist had already scheduled the time. I completely understand short notice cancellations aren't easy to deal with on their end, and it's not something I do lightly, but they had zero concern that I was uncomfortable with the dentist. I called due to emergency dental issues and pain - they got me in with only a day in between the time I'd called and when my appointment was scheduled for. Even though I was simply a stranger on the phone with my first call, I was out at ease and felt I was in great hands. They were equally as quick to serve and kind once I went in on the day of my appointment. They were non-judgmental in regards to my extreme anxiety of dental work, explained everything thoroughly beforehand and expertly answered all of my questions to make me feel welcomed and educated. I don't take kindly to threats, and he seems to forget that I'm the customer and HE WORKS FOR ME, not the other way around. I also have a little tip for him: dentistry is very competitive in St. Charles County. In fact, I live about 3 miles from the office and I saw no less than FIVE dentistry practices on my way there-One of which is my new dentist, YAY! We have gone through many office changes and never had an insurance issue or procedure issue until now. With a mishap with nitrous being given for a procedure when we signed for it NOT to be used because it makes my daughter sick and the office manager's unprofessional treatment with an insurance issue, we are done. I cannot trust that we will not have any further problems with insurance filing. She indicated that their providing insurance information is a courtesy, not part of their job. So when scheduling an appointment, it is my job to know when we can schedule to be covered, since it's our insurance, it's our job to know what's covered and how to schedule. This was all over a cleaning appointment for my daughter, which was two weeks too early for coverage. However, all they had to do was resubmit to insurance, as I asked for. Plus, when we schedule, we always ask to schedule when we are available according to insurance coverage. After calling to see ow to get this taken care of with the insurance, the office manager insisted I pay and asked 8 times during our phone call how I'd like to pay for the cleaning. She sent us text messages with a payment link, and then she put our accounts for the whole family under review so we could not make any appointment changes. When I called my insurance and asked why it wasn't paid, they said the office could ask for a resubmission or clarification. Also, they asked for codes I had no idea about. Since the office manager would not call and do a resubmission, I contacted our company's insurance agent for help. The insurance issued payment a week after this call with the office manager. Never in all my life have we ever been treated so rudely by an office/insurance person at any doctor's office.
