I've been seeing him for cleanings and the occasional cavity for over five years, and while going to the dentist sucks no matter what, he definitely makes it suck much less. He also actually told me that I "over brush"... I always thought the more brushing the better, but apparently my gums were taking a beating. Good to know! What I really am about to write about has been a long time coming, though. After four years of Dr. Meier telling me I seriously need to get all my wisdom teeth cut out (and me blowing him off repeatedly out of fear & procrastination,) I'm finally calling his office tomorrow to schedule that dreaded event for sometime in August. Unfortunately, my experience after his departure has been extremely disappointing. About three weeks ago, I went in for a routine cleaning with absolutely no tooth pain or sensitivity. The new dentist Dr. Cartwright identified an issue involving a lower-left tooth and recommended what was described to me as a simple filling. The procedure itself was painful. I was told that some discomfort could last one to four weeks, but instead of improving, the pain and sensitivity progressively became worse--to the point that I could not sleep without taking pain medication. I contacted Premier Dental asking to have the tooth evaluated and to get a second opinion. I was told that Dr. Cartwright was on vacation and that the other dentist was booked for more than a month. Despite explaining that I was experiencing significant pain and had been a patient of the practice for over 15 years, I was directed to seek care elsewhere. I went to Smile Design Dental, where I was told there were chips in the filling and an infection. I was prescribed antibiotics and informed that I now need a root canal because the nerve has been affected. What makes this especially upsetting is that this tooth had no pain or sensitivity before the filling. I went in for routine care and agreed to what I understood would be a simple procedure. Three weeks later, I am dealing with significant pain, infection, antibiotics, a recommended root canal, and additional expense. I understand that complications can occur with any dental procedure. What disappoints me most is how the situation was handled afterward. After being a loyal patient for more than 15 years, I expected Premier Dental to make an effort to evaluate a serious problem that developed following treatment performed at their office. I hope Premier Dental reviews what happened and takes appropriate steps to improve both patient follow-up and continuity of care when complications occur.

The brought some guy in in scrubs and he proceeded to try and convince me as well. When I asked who he was, they said that they call him Frank. When I refused, the girl that does the insurance, maybe the office manager, told me that if I didn't have it done, they would notify the hospital where I had an upcoming procedure scheduled and tell the hospital that I had an infection, so I would not be able to have the procedure done. I went to two other dentists, and both of them said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the tooth the wanted to extract. If you're looking for a dentist, I'd highly recommend that you look elsewhere! In my opinion , these folks are nothing but crooks and have absolutely no integrity! I should have known not to go to an old Hardee's that has been converted into a dentist office.

This is wild, Monday December 14 I show up to my appointment on time. They call me back to start the cleaning. They say, I need to take exams, I say no thanks. Well you need to sign a waver. I read it and it is using strong words. They can't be responsible because of my refusal. I am not going to sign anything saying they are not responsible. I walk up to the Receptionous. You guessed it, they billed me for refusal. Acting like I never showed. No one called me all week to check on what happened. A patient for 15 years is nothing to them. Bye Bye​
