My Trim friends go here every Sunday afternoon with their families and I can see why. The portions are huge...the Ribs JR starter could have easily been a main. The menu is rather expansive and covers everything from Italian pasta, to French favourites like Duck a l'orange, to American Buffalo wings to Asian-inspired dishes like hoisin chicken. Yet despite this globe trotting offering, the food is actually quite good. Service is friendly and very quick. And did I mention that the portions are ginormous?!? The early bird menu is great value too at under 20 euros for a starter and main. I've been twice now and definitely would go back next time I'm in Trim.

One hour later the lady came up to us and said that the food would be another hour maybe an hour and a half! She said that she would send in some sandwiches to keep us going, they duly arrived and they were not bad in fairness. We order finger food with duck pancakes with plum sauce, breaded mushrooms, chicken skewers, mini fish and chips and a mini main that was supposed to be beef stroganoff. The duck pancakes were a disaster no sauce and thrown together. The breaded mushrooms were served on side dishes that looked like butter dishes, the garlic dip came out in small jam jars like breakfast jam in a hotel. The fish and chips were good but the stroganoff was chunks of beef in gravy on a spoon of mash, this was obviously some left over from Sunday lunch. Bad,bad, bad. I certainly would not go here again and neither would any of the guests at the christening.

My husband and I both got fish & chips which were great, and the kids got chicken nuggets and chips and pasta, great big portions and everything came very quickly (though we were having a pretty early dinner, around 5 pm). I was impressed that the pasta had a chunky homemade bolognese sauce on it. The beer menu seemed somewhat limited but that could also be due to Covid and how much they're able to supply at the moment. We sat in their outdoor seating area which is OK - they've definitely done their best to try and stay open and meet the restrictions! I think I will enjoy it better when the indoor dining reopens though as it's hard to make a tent attractive. This is a great little off-the-beaten-track place though and I do hope to be back soon.

The food was very nice, and the view and surroundings were pretty spectacular. The sun was shining, and two horses were cantering down the beach.
