Smyth's bar is a quirky bar with a long and narrow bar and lounge where loads of beer and other memorabilia adorn the various nooks and crannies. They pour a very creamy pint of Guinness, which only has a couple of yards to travel from their kegs to the lines. They also pour local craft beers, and have a very wide range available. I ordered a tea and it was hilarious, barman turned around and flick the kettle on... Yep, no fancy gimmick hot water machine it was a just kettle and served up in a big standard ole irish cup. Old school, loved it! There was great banter going on amongst folk, the barman also doubled up as a bookie so that had folk very lively altogether. From the city, use to paying high prices so it's great when ye get out into the country, €4 for pint of Guinness and cup of tea was like €1 My husband got talking to an old local man who was super friendly, he recognised us as not being from around the area which was nice of him to say hello :-)
