An old country pub, everything from the outside of the pub to the inside hasn't been touched or upgraded... It's ultimately one of them authentic Irish pubs were known for.
Parked ourselves at the bar this place was very cosy, open fire to the end of the room made this place ubber cosy. There was plenty of locals here, place had a really good atmosphere. I ordered a tea and it was hilarious, barman turned around and flick the kettle on... Yep, no fancy gimmick hot water machine it was a just kettle and served up in a big standard ole irish cup. Old school, loved it!
There was great banter going on amongst folk, the barman also doubled up as a bookie so that had folk very lively altogether.
From the city, use to paying high prices so it's great when ye get out into the country, €4 for pint of Guinness and cup of tea was like €1
My husband got talking to an old local man who was super friendly, he recognised us as not being from around the area which was nice of him to say hello :-) read more
