Paulie and Fergie were as welcoming as can be, and we ended up playing Bingo with what had to be the entire town in the bar on a Thursday evening. The food at the pub was wonderful, the room was warm and comfortable with ample free parking in the back, and there was a full Irish breakfast waiting for us in the morning! It was a really, really lovely time and one of our best memories of Ireland.

We made ourselves cosy in front of the stove, the barman came over and added more turf so yeah, it's a place on a cold winters day where ye'd just sit there all day, read the newspaper, sip over a few pints and just zone out. Barman was friendly, brought drinks to the table and also helped us with directions :-) As we were driving it was unfortunately just the one we stopped in for but would have stayed longer had the car not been with us.

We were surprised to be offered a free pint since Guinness was having a promotion to sample their new lager. Yes, Guinness has a lager!
