When we went to order another drink he went from behind the bar and did not return for 10 minutes. When I asked him for another drink he said he'll be with us in a minute. He then went to the end of the bar were they have a snug area and started talking to people in there while I waited at the bar. We left shortly after. Smyth's bar is a quirky bar with a long and narrow bar and lounge where loads of beer and other memorabilia adorn the various nooks and crannies. They pour a very creamy pint of Guinness, which only has a couple of yards to travel from their kegs to the lines. They also pour local craft beers, and have a very wide range available. But perhaps the best bit is the Beer Garden, it is the best kept secret of this pub (until now). It is an oasis in the middle of a bustling town. A perfect retreat on a sunny day. I ordered a tea and it was hilarious, barman turned around and flick the kettle on... Yep, no fancy gimmick hot water machine it was a just kettle and served up in a big standard ole irish cup. Old school, loved it! There was great banter going on amongst folk, the barman also doubled up as a bookie so that had folk very lively altogether.
