As a school that allows every student to have that true stereotypical High School experience you walk through the doors to see it just as such. You have a full school full of individuals of every background, every clique, fully staffed with some of the dedicated teachers, counselors and disciplinarians I've ever met. Every year I had a teacher who stood out to me more than others, some for good reasons and others not. My freshman year took the cake for me. I had some amazing teachers. had a very sweet biology teacher her who took more time than I have ever seen get to know students and still to this day, I don't know a single person who has something bad to say. My algebra teacher was just the same and is the reason I don't entirely hate math. Both teachers throughly took the time to teach each student what they were suppose to learn in ways each person could understand. Each year I had a couple teachers who will forever have a special place on my heart and owe so many thanks to for being a part in helping me achieve my success. It feels like a really long time ago that I went to north valleys but it would still be a place I consider for my children when thinking of what school to put them in, when they get older. As far as I've seen and heard, it's still the same high school I grew to know and love.

Even today I am terrified when the announcements sound comes over the speakers if it is at a random time. For this one teacher, in context (which doesn't make it much better) we talked about humanistic psychology and a criticism of it is that they are over accepting. That same teacher has also made very rude and snarky remarks to students. A very very controlling person. Some days I don't wanna go to school because I'm scared he'll make remarks about me and humiliate me in front of the class, he's already done it to me. After lunch, I think based on my experience, the upstairs bathrooms are a hit or miss because they are either locked all class period during 3rd period or open after 20 minutes. So if you really need to use it, Aunt Flo has arrived, or whatever, you're screwed until the end of the day if you're lucky enough to get to a bathroom. Honestly, if you want better education for your kids: go somewhere else. Maybe even go to Finland. Overall, can't wait to graduate because this has been a rollercoaster if the rollercoaster was barely on the track, had no seatbelts, and was on fire. Am I the only one this is happening too??? Week 1 off incident Teo 3 years old has "Ringworm" now my son suffers from eczema since he was a baby. But because it was a perfect circle the center flagged it as "ringworm" ok fine picked him and took him to his medical office. Got him some steroid cream and fixed the ringworm issue. He missed the entire week school kept the 170.00 kool fine they got bills to pay too. Week 2 upon his return Teo had two blow outs no fever no nothing ok fine we pick him up where told he can't return for 72 hrs. So another fully paid week kool I work from home and mom is available so guess that's kool......I have millions to donate I guess.... ohh no diarrhea the rest of the day or week by the way Week 3 Teo returns and now not even 4 hrs in school I get a call Teo has a cough you need to pick him up oh by the way in order for him to return he needs a negative covid test.... me being the worried mother I am takes him to Renown urgent care to get that covid test. Feeling guilty the entire time over putting him in a day care. Scared he might actually have covid and all sorts of thoughts racing through my head. 72 hrs late Teo has a negative covid test doctor says it's just my son adjusting to daycare life that it's totally normal for kids to catch things when they've never been in daycare. Week 4 only went like a day due to holidays Week 5 brings to today Teo experienced a nose bleed At school a couple hours after my husband and I dropped him off. FYI I did not take Teo to school Monday because he legit had a cough this time. So ok they call I send my husband to pick up Teo. Somewhere between the pick the school calls back "Manu Teos brother said daddy hit Teo" ok that's concerning anyways.... hubby comes home watches Teo while I work..... oh by the way Teo does get regular nose bleeds it's on his medical record and I do remember telling the teachers about it. It's due to the dry air in the valley and his sensitive nose. 4 hrs later we have the RPD AND CPS thank god at least I know our city is on it for reports. I want to give them a big shout out as if this was a legit reason I would owe them my life my everything!!!! I appreciate our law enforcement especially our case workers and am glad they came over today. Upset emotional and a bit embarrassed but overall satisfied with the empathy and support shown today!!!! Needless to say my boys will never go back to SNACS I UNDERSTAND THEY ARE REQUIRED TO REPORT INCIDENTS AND WHAT NOT. That's fine but after reviewing the multiple incidents not mention all things my boys say happen there that now I feel where big time red flags.... So back to my question any other moms/dads get there kids regularly sent home from SNACS.... The director legit told me "every daycare has that one kid who is always sick" "Teo happens to be that kid" I think is false his only been sick according to them while in there care bacause this past 5 weeks his been fine while at home in exception to this past weekend. So please any feedback is appreciated I need to know if it's only my family or if this is happening to any other family's. I will also need a new daycare center or licensed babysitter I pay 170.00 per each child and I work Monday-Friday 11:30-8:00 but they only need care from 11:30 to 4:30.

The school did give me mental health problems, but that's mainly my fault for not doing some of my work and leaving me in a rabbit hole. Kids are kind of mean and cocky, something you would see in a private school. I was bullied for not catching dodgeballs zooming past my head at 100mph. The GATE students have their own hierarchy that works mostly the same as the normal students, but it's kinda different. The whole "popular kids" thing is really messed up. No, Alex, just because you hit a ball with a stick and laugh like a monkey should not make you popular. The dean was a little mean to me, but we are on good terms now. The main school does not respect my religion and beliefs. They laughed at me for wearing a cross. If you get put into a cubby, they WILL forget about you. I don't recommend dating anyone because let's be honest-- it's all idiot teenagers in one big building. I've dated twice and both of those experiences sucked booty. The weird gay kids are treated like babies, and it creates an unfair school environment. I don't care if someone made fun of you for being gay, move on. Some good things is the electives, teachers, and lunch times, but most of it is negative. Some staff are rude, but only some. The "phone away all day" is bs because I've seen kids walking with their phones without consequences. Teachers also can be passive aggressive and only treat the popular kids like actual students as someone who has experienced that. Small classes, individualized attention, clear expectations, and most importantly, mandatory 2-hour study hall resulted in a near perfect GPA after only his first semester at SVA. He's more mature, has gained confidence, and in general seems much happier with his newfound success. Thankfully, he is much more interested in actively defining his future. With the help of his teachers and SVA staff, he applied to several colleges and is very excited about his upcoming Freshman year. We are very proud of our son and are looking forward to seeing his bright future unfold with its many choices. He would certainly not be in this position had he not left the public school in which he was merely average, and attended SVA where he learned to EXCEL! He has learned lessons about himself in the last two years that will stay with him forever. Finally, after taking one semester of SAT prep at SVA, my son's SAT score improved by nearly 200 points (and it was pretty good to start)! That's real and measurable success!

The ownership group has attempted to restructure the organization multiple times, but those changes have not addressed the underlying issues with leadership and management. In my experience, the current Director has shown very little concern for the employees, and the impact of that leadership has been significant. From last year to now, the school has reportedly lost a substantial portion of its staff, which should be a major red flag for prospective families. I encourage parents to read the reviews, speak with current and former employees, and do your own research before making a decision. Families deserve to know what they are signing up for.
