What happened to this NYPD? I have been coming to this store since 2008 and could always count on delicious pizza every time. Went in today for a couple slices; one cheese and one margherita slice, my usual. No waitress, and no one in restaurant. The cheese slice was flavorless as I don't even think it had any tomato sauce. Don't even get ne started on the margherita slice. It was cheese slice with about eight slices of underripe tomato slices and sliced cold mozzarella. Unbeliveably bad. Have not been here for four months, but good luck staying in business with your no waitress and bad pizza. Wont be back. read more

We were on our way to a concert and running a little behind so we ordered online for a to go order. We got to the restaurant earlier than expected and asked if we could eat in the restaurant and were told by the general manager they don't allow that even though the restaurant was empty, he made an exception anyways. Then as we were ordering drinks at the bar we were told by the same manager they could not serve our friend because he could tell by her body language she was inebriate. We explained to him that she has cancer and is blind because of it which is why we are leading her. He just said ok and never apologized. His tone and body language and word choice was extremely rude and he has no business being a manager let alone a general manager. read more

Service was great! Quick seating and quick service! Friendly and checked up on. The decòr is cool too. I like that it's open floor because it makes you feel not so crowded. These guys are always cool. They'll sell by the slice or whole pie. Came in a little too near closing time and they still wanted to take our order. We've gotten NYPD for years but this time was different. I'm not sure what it was about the pizza but it wasn't the same crispy crust with delicious flavor. It was softer crust that was limp when you hold it. The garlic knots were also not the same knots, they were like dinner rolls with some seasoning. I was in the area around lunchtime and as soon as I saw the NYPD sign and familiar exterior, I remembered how much I like this place and their pizza. I went in and said, "I'll have a table for one." Obviously I hadn't been there for a while, haha, because now you order & pay at the front counter, fill your soda without waiting, and a good-looking guy brings the hot, melting pizza to your table. I loved that it felt more casual & relaxing. You even go and grab your own fork and knife which are napkin-wrapped. (That might have sounded weird to mention, but some places have the utensils out for other's hands to handle. And while I'm on the subject, their restrooms were so perfect that they looked like they were cleaned after every person.) They most definitely cleaned the tables the moment that guests left. Back to the pizza, they have a lunch special which is 2 large slices of pizza with 1 topping and a soda for only $9.00. I didn't have beer or wine, but I took a photo of the lists for you. A glass of wine is only $4.99 during happy hour. I've never tried any of their desserts, but my photo shows the 5 choices (between $7.00 to $8.00). It's been a while since I have visited since moving away but NYPD has always been our go to when we lived there. This was the first meal I had since stepping off the plane. I arrived just when they opened at 11 AM. I believe the hours are different on the website or Google so double check before you arrive because one of them does say 10:30 AM. I opted to have one of their lunch specials which was a slice with a salad. I chose the cheese pizza and Greek salad. First, the Greek salad is outstanding. It's one of my favorites. It's just a simple mix of lettuce and vegetables but that dressing is so on point. Second, I ordered a slice of cheese pizza. Simple yet so delicious. The crust has a perfect ratio of crunch to chew. There's plenty of cheese on top as well and the sauce is delicious. There weren't too many diners inside when I arrived which made me more comfortable since I am trying to take additional precautions during Covid. At the end of my trip a few days later, I called to see if they could make me a extra large cheese pizza which I was going to take on the plane and have it ready right when they opened. A male manager politely obliged and I was able to pick it up right when they opened. That pizza was also outstanding. NYPD is one of my favorite places for pizza. I've had pizza all over the place and globally and quite honestly nothing beats a slice from NYPD. read more

I had been to NYPD locations on Camelback and Thomas(7th ave)in midtown Phoenix. Those two were great that I each ranked 5 stars. This recent one is in the popular Scottsdale shopping center on Pima, off the 101. There's plenty of parking. The restaurant is roomy. Service was great by Manager Jesse. I had 2 slices(with pepperoni, sausages, onions, spinach), salad with bleu cheese dressing and Orange crush soda. As usual, the slices are large and 2 is about the size of a medium pizza at other places. The salad was fresh and crispy. The bleu cheese dressing best I've had this year. Prices are reasonable for excellent value. read more

Came here with my brother. Loved it cause it was clean and the server was nice. Got the zucchini, half only which is 4 pieces. It was good & crispy. The marinera sauce wasn't my favorite to eat the zucchini, it tasted better in ranch. We got the upstate style wings traditional. I liked it. My brother said it's a bit sweet. It does have a buffalo spicy flavor thou. I got the cheese calazone it was okay. Lots of bread. The cheese was good. The calazone tasted good with the marianera sauce. Ordered a sicilian pie 5 months ago, but the review disappeared. It was good I recall with meatballs, breaded eggplant and ricotta. The garlic knots were also nice and bready. Now I'm back with a calzone to go, but this was a doughy mess. The calzone is giant at $7.99 and three toppings are included. They put way too many green peppers inside and most of this giant beast was all dough. It was well priced, but not the best calzone. The house amber beer also is not that tasty. Last night we ended up at NYPD to celebrate our sons 6th birthday. We had the best experience! We were greeted as soon as we stepped in the door and they were quick to set up a table for our party of 11. Our waitress was super nice and made sure to check in on us often as well as answer any questions we had. She made the experience fun for all! But unfortunately I forgot to get her name. My husband and I shred the Al Capone calzone and it was so delicious. Perfect amount of fillings. We got the kids pepperoni pizza and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The slices are on the bigger side. My daughter opted to get the Asiago Caesar salad with crispy chicken and finished every last bite. We will definitely eat here again when we are in the area. read more

Got a 16" Brooklyn Family, price point about $25. The pizza was very salty, the crust very chewy, and hardly any cheese. No complexity of flavor, especially since the salt masked everything else. Not worth anywhere close to that price. Very disappointed. read more

I've been a long time customer from the time they were on Scottsdale and Shea. The pizza is one of the best. Unfortunately the customer service is lacking. I've gone to the location off of Raintree half a dozen times. A various times of the day walk in, no greeting. Nothing stand there. Finally I sit down again after 10 to 15 minutes. Maybe someone shows up, or you get a stare. Very awkward. Most the time I walk out out of frustration. If the customer service were as good as the pizza, this would be a gold mine. I won't be back. I'm from a town in New Jersey that invented the tomato pie. I thought this pizza was as close to home as most places here in the valley. The last couple times I ordered something has changed. Unfortunately it would seam that they changed their recipe. The inner dough is thicker and outter crust is flat. Are the Oceans Rising or is NY(PD) Falling? During football season, my wife, kids and I go our for pizza once a week. Having lived in Manhattan, when we first moved to AZ, NYPD was the closest thing to home. The water really does make the difference and NYPD has found a way to science the shiznit out of water and bring it to the desert. So with that whole pile of memories, I beg you forgive me for coming late to the party and point out that NYPD has definitely SUNK (insert "splash" sound here). My favorite pizza is the Wall Street. Loaded with crumble sausage, pepperoni, smokey bacon, cheese and mushrooms. Unfortunately, in the last year, the pizza consistency has been all over the spectrum from raw and soggy to charcoal bottom. In our last eight visits, only once has the pizza come out to the old standard NYPD used to regularly churn out. If you are looking for pasta, NYPD has always offered it but never delivered a dish anyone over 12 would crave. The salads, however, are regularly fresh with super flavorful croutons. For desert, the NYPD pizza cookie is a classic and they serve a superb lemoncello cake that keeps you coming back. 2 months ago, I asked the owners and managers to get their house back in order. They graciously sent me a $50 certificate and we came back. The food was prepared the old standard (good) but the problems continue to plague this store with wait staff. The last five of nine visits have been marred by lazy staff lacking hustle and inattentive to the small sections. They routinely leave finished plates in front after clearly moving on to the next course. It is more the rule than the exception that your lemoncello cake is set on the table and you have to navigate around the empty dinner plates. The plates often stay put all the way through the check. I maintain to the Managers, if NYPD wants be only a take out joint, please close the tables and just keep the counter/register open. read more
