I took the Long Island Rail Road into Woodside and the transfer could not have been easier. The bus stop is right there off Roosevelt Ave, basically under the 7 train station and right near a Dunkin, so there's no wandering around trying to figure things out. What really stands out is how straightforward the whole process feels. No weird detours, no unnecessary stops. You get on, it moves. Within just a few stops, the bus jumps straight onto the Brooklyn Queens Expressway and from there it's a direct shot to LaGuardia Airport. I was there in about 20 minutes, maybe even less, which is kind of insane considering it's New York and you're heading to an airport. The fact that it's free just makes it even better. No metro card swipe, no extra cost, just get on and go. For once, everything worked exactly how you'd want it to. It's efficient, easy to find, and actually fast. Hard to say that about most things transit related here, but this one delivers.

It's a free service serving Terminal B and Terminal C, and takes you to the subway station at Roosevelt Ave/74th Street where you can catch multiple subway lines such as the E, F, M, R, 7. I found plenty of signage at Terminal C today telling us where the pickup/drop off area was. Busses run every 6-10 minutes. Bus does get crowded and takes around 20 minutes or so depending on traffic to get to the subway station so standing might be an option.

After doing extensive research on easiest/cheap ways to get from LGA into Manhattan I just went for…read morethe bus option. I use the App Hop Stop which can tell you exactly step by step which buses/subway/walks you need to do in order to get to your final destination. I headed down to the baggage claim/ground transportation area and there is a kiosk where you can buy a Metro Card. You can either by it with time usage or $ amount. I just put $10 on it. Walking outside I probably waited for the bus for 2 minutes then took it through Queens. The odd thing is that they don't announce any stops! Luckily I needed to get off on the last stop which is right in front of the Roosevelt subway station and I took the F to Chelsea. Trip Breakdown: - 30 minute bus ride - 25 minute subway ride - 10 minute walk to my hotel = 1 hour from LGA to my hotel in Chelsea I would say take the bus if you're not in a hurry. It was only $5 total vs a cab being between $25-$40 depending on traffic. ALSO if you have lots of luggage this may be a pain in the butt- particularly on the subway. On the bus there was a luggage rack.

Here are some quick facts:…read more-It does service three boroughs: Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens -"In June 2025, internal MTA documents were leaked, indicating that a proposal to reroute M trains through the 63rd Street Tunnel and reroute F trains through the 53rd Street Tunnel would be presented for approval in fall 2025. If approved, the route swap would be this December" The 63rd Street station is overcrowded. Maybe this swap will also improve service in the F line - The M line allows one to explore Middle village, specifically Ridgewood l, Queens. Ridgewood is on my radar to visit frequently due to some really great restaurants located there - Pleasantly surprised to see live agent at the Forest Avenue station. He was courteous and professional when I asked for directions -"is a rapid transit service in the B Division of the New York City Subway. Its route emblem, or "bullet", is colored orange since it is a part of the IND Sixth Avenue Line in". I'm unsure of the emblem "bullet"'or rapid. Whenever I had ridden the M it's quite slow. It's an elevated station and there is a a spiffy mural on the overpass. Plenty to see and do as soon as you exit by way of restaurants and bars.

He scanned our ticket and we boarded. The bus was pretty full, so we ended up sitting separately. The above head storage bins are kind of tight, so I had to take something out of my over stuffed backpack to manage to wiggle it in. While my purse sat on my lap. I liked the foot rest and the hook on the handle on the seat in front of me. Trash bags were hung here and there. Looks like they also provided small bottles of water for us, though we had to grab those ourselves. The electric plugs didn't seem to work, but perhaps the ubs plugs in the ceiling did. Our driver was a great communicator. He set expectations so we knew that we had a 20 min rest stop before arriving at Baltimore, and pointed out things to help us to pay attention and to get back to the right bus. He warned us that given current construction that we were sure to arrive later than what our tickets said, and gave us his best eta given the circumstances. Another passenger later commented that the bus bathroom was clean. We kind of ended up being dropped off on a brightly painted bridge in the middle of no where - perhaps on Maryland Ave?, by a bus stop. A short walk from Penn Station.
