A colleague referred us to Nuvo Builders for a bid on our renovation project. David, the owner, came over and reviewed the project with us. His patience and attention to detail was great and he had a lot of great comments and suggestions. He really understood where we were coming from - budget constraints but with a high aesthetic angle. We immediately felt very comfortable with him and learned a lot from the give and take of the discussion We had 2other bids come in on the project and Nuvo's bid was significantly less than the others! Perhaps if they can remember to get to you, they are good. However, an appointment scheduled a week ago for today... half day of work taken off.... 9:30 am appointment. No show, no call by 10:45. Call them up and get a call back from Martin.... The excuse : The calendar forgot to remind him. He's sorry. Well, I'm sorry someone doesn't know what they are supposed to do the next day, doesn't look when they wake up and doesn't have a support system to ensure their customer service is so poor. Wow. I wish I had found these guys sooner. In a massive sea of terrible to mediocre contractors in Houston, these guys are truly top notch. I had issues with a leakage that was a result of poor workmanship from several contractors. I had used 2 other contractors to try to get this problem fixed and each time there was a leakage near my roof and windows within a few months. I worked with Martin and he was able to diagnose the issue and complete the work in a timely manner. He completely undid the terrible work that the other guys did and made it look perfect to my satisfaction. I believe Martin has an engineering background so his detail to attention is uncanny. Nuvo also builds homes from the ground up so I know they have expertise when it comes to structural jobs. I can honestly say I have 100% trust in Nuvo builders. read more

A 10 star review if i could give it - i loved working with David, Martin and Greg and their entire team on our complete master bathroom overhaul, foyer painting and front porch reconstruction projects. They're the best to work with because they're nice, reasonable and knowledgable people, they're very communicative, they do quality work, and, probably best of all, they wont think twice about doing things over to get it absolutely perfect. We worked with Nuvo on a kitchen renovation and full remodels to both of our bathrooms and they were great to work with! Martin and Greg really took into account what we wanted and provided useful feedback to help us design what we needed. Both of the bathrooms are fairly small spaces so it was helpful to have their design ideas and what they knew would work for the space. Additionally, the trades that they work with were very professional; we were living in the house as they did the renovations and they were all respectful of our space and time. The only drawback for the whole process was that it did take a much longer time to complete the project than we expected or they had projected - but they were good about keeping us updated and in-the-loop so we knew what was happening and where the holdups were. We would definitely recommend them and if we have any future remodeling plans we would work with them again. read more

I had never done any renovations before, and I was concerned about working with a contractor. I am so glad that I chose Nuvo builders to remodel my kitchen and bathroom. David and Martin were a pleasure to work with. - They paid attention to my needs and worked within my budget - They made sure to pull all permits (other builders who quoted me said they did not pull permits) -Martin spent a lot of time consulting me before any building began. This included many discussions on lay out, appliances/fixtures, design, what to expect..... -David scheduled their crew and contractors. I am so glad we decided to go with Nuvo for our kitchen remodel. We live in an old bungalow in the Heights and wanted to go with a contractor who had experience with working in old houses like ours. After receiving a few bids, we decided on Nuvo based on the price and vision they had for our kitchen. There are many builders to choose from in The Heights but we were very lucky to have found Nuvo Builders. From start to finish, our home construction project was handled in the most professional way. The craftsmanship was outstanding and they started our job and finished within the stated time frame. They took great care to minimize any mess and we were so amazed at the finished product, our home value increased for sure. They also guarantee their work for several years and were great at communicating throughout the entire process. Nuvo Builders recently completed a full renovation of our kitchen and master bathroom, as well as several other projects throughout our home (full interior paint, updates to lighting, plumbing, and HVAC, installation of custom cabinetry, and various other items). Work was initiated in April 2015 and completed in July 2015. Our experience was very positive from start to finish. Martin and David are professional, accessible, and responsive. They hold their staff and their tradesmen accountable for a high level of craftsmanship and they are very protective of their brand.
