I recently dealt with this branch on a loan. Mina Nikroo did a great job as our loan officer and helping us get all of our documents together for application. She was there to help us get everything signed also. Once the application was submitted, we worked extensively with Laura Johannesen, the processing and funding specialist. She was so knowledgeable, personable and helpful. She worked tirelessly and proactively to get our desired result and make the process smooth and easy for us. My car loan was sold to Nuvision and it has been a nightmare. From making payments, setting up auto pay, to trying to talk to an actual person. My account needed to be paid right away when it switched and it was impossible to figure out how to make a payment because it needed to go through the website, not the online portal. So much back and forth with customer service and time wasted. Because I couldn't find anything on the account that auto pay was set up, I set it up again without knowing and had two separate charges for the same day on my account. For the final pay off payment, I logged in and found the scheduled payments, cancelled them and made a payment for the exact amount to pay off my car. The company still deducted both canceled payments and added them to a bank account that I will not use and did not want. Had to schedule a transfer to put the money back in my bank account which took days. Last week I was waiting to talk to a representative for an hour and a half before I had to hang up and go back to work. Once my car loan was paid off, the account disappeared and I have no documentation that the car is paid off. The ONLY positive experience I've had was when I chatted with customer service asking for a final statement and to close my account. I have never had to spend so much time to manage a car loan. It has been a confusing nightmare to pay this company and close the account. Will never consider opening a bank account or new loan with them. read more

I want to tell you about how I was gaslighted by a bias manager at the Walnut Creek office, off of Ygnacia valley branch. I am a person of principles and one of my principles was breached by an employee and manager. I don't know who this manager is trying to be to her staff. I really don't. But here's what happened. I have been a customer for a very long time when this bank was Safe America not to long ago and my experience has been great thus far, except for yesterday, March 4, 2025 in the Walnut Creek office, off of Oak Grove street I believe. As a Nuvision customer, they have a newly hired worker in the Walnut Creek branch. She's that really short girl. I don't know her name. She has the nastiest attitude. I watched her just disrespect this order guy in front of her. It was okay what she did with the other employees because none of them looked at her like she was crazy. When it came to me, I was already unset on how her demeanor was. It's very rude. She put my receipt on the counter instead of my hand. Then she did the same thing with my cashiers check, look me in the fast and say, is there anything else. I said to her. "Next time I come in here, can you put the receipt in my hand." I don't remember all that she said. But she didn't like what I said. She said, "If you wanted it in your hand, you should have asked." We had other exchanged before it got to this point. I said to her, "your attitude is nasty. Let me speak to your manager." She said, "She's in a meeting." Which she was not. I went up to the window to get the managers attention. She tries to stop me. But the manager came to the door of her office. What's going on, she said. I said can I talk to you?" I proceeded to close the door. The manager was hesitant. But I didn't want to discuss what I had to say about this girl, with her ear hustling. I told the manager what happened. She said, "she not like that. She goes over and above for our customers." It was a bias statement because I'm a customer and she didn't do that for me. The blind manager could not see that. To the manager, my complaints was pettie and small and a challenge to her leadership or hiring ability. It showed on her face and in her comment, "Is that all." My attitude was, "Is that all." Her commenting back that if I wanted my receipt and check handle to me in my hand, I should ask is not a problem. The manager said, "I do that." Oh, I see. If you do it, then it's okay. You wouldn't dare say that it's disrespectful not to put things in a person hand cause you do it. Well it's disrespectful to me and I had a request. I said, "Next time when I come, can you put the receipt in my hand?" Was that so hard to do? Was that a tall impossible order? Why couldn't she have said, "Oh sure. I'm sorry if I offended you." I would have just said, "Oh no problem." But to get a response like, "if you wanted it handed to you, you should have asked." And with attitude. That's what got me. My attitude is like, "heifah". I was pissed even the more. What! Where is your managers. And then to hear from management, " I hired her, and I pride myself on hiring people who...blah blah blah. I don't remember the rest. To see in the managers face that my complaint is an overreactions, but not recognizing that I see this as a threat to the team and you ego or hiring capability. Can you just admit, that you fumble the ball this time? We all do. I asked the manager, where are those two other girls? I gave a great review on them. I said, "they would have never done this." I don't know if she fired them or if they left. But those two was the "bombiggady". If I had their picture, I would post it because great customer service should be recognized. I am just so sick and tired of bad customer service and blind loyal management which is what they have over there at this branch. I am looking for another bank to bank at. I will be certainly withdrawing my money. But where I go next, I will make sure their customer service is top notch. I'm so done putting my money in places, my petty, small request is mismanaged. I am a person of principal. Most of us who take the time to give reviews are people of principal. One of my principles was dismiss by a dismissive employee and manager. Unacceptable. My advice to all of you, don't bank anywhere, where your smallest request is minimized into shatter pieces or looked at through the lens of a blind leader who thinks your request is insignificant or invalid, choosing to dismiss or downplay your experience instead of addressing it fairly. This manager prioritized defending her employee over genuinely listening to my concern. That's happening all over, now. Let change the narrative okay. read more

I had pre-ordered my car from the car dealership down the street from the Nuvision Costa Mesa and was ready to finance through Nuvision the day I picked up my car. I made the mistake of reaching out to a rep at the Nuvision Call Center instead of a real branch, and on the day I picked up my car, they were no where to be found. It was already tough getting a car during COVID times, so I was just very stressed that I could not reach my loan rep to get a loan that day as promised. I left the dealership in the middle of negotiations and ran over to the Costa Mesa branch hoping they could help me. Kelly Hernandez was there and SHE SAVED ME. She sat and listened to my story and was able to quickly and calmly take over and initiate my loan on the spot. She advised me on how to look over the tricky dealership contracts and I returned back to the dealership with confidence. In a few short days, the check was cut and I was able to drive off the dealership lot with my car. Also, because I was a Nuvision member and went through the branch, I got a very very low interest rate, almost 2.0% lower than what they offered at the dealership. If Kelly was not there, I would have been tempted to just take the dealership offer. But I was able to quickly get approval for the loan, locked in at the rate that I wanted, and drive my car off the lot knowing that I got the best deal. I've been doing business with NuVision for years because they're small, knowledgeable and go above and beyond in service. Today I had a problem I needed help with plus a huge deadline that, if I didn't meet it, would throw off a transaction involving several people, some in different time zones. I called cuatomer service many times with payment questions, and no person, no email, or no mail stated they were charging me over $200 for insurance, when i provided insurance before i left the ford dealership. So the secret untold charge hit me credit. I will say this is the absolute worst company i have ever delt with, and i am a patient understanding person. They are just like the reviews say. Although the employees are very nice, the overall Nuvision system is very cumbersome and difficult for the employees to efficiently use. Every few months I open a CD and their computer system is so difficult to use by the employees that the CD does not show on my statement. I have seen months go by and several requests and yet the CD does not show. If I died tomorrow, my family would not know the CD even existed. Also, I have accounts at more than one financial institution. Nuvision is the only one that can't seem to release their monthly online statements before the fourth or fifth day of each new month. All my other banks have it released on the first day of the new month. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. 3 teller stations open, no one in front of me. The wait to complete my transaction was almost 20 minutes. I know, because I checked into Yelp when I walked through the door. All three tellers saw me but didn't verbally acknowledge. They were far too busy chatting up the customer in front of them. When one of the teller stations finally opened up, there was no apology or acknowledgement for the unnecessary wait. Unacceptable. Customer service is NOT their strongpoint. It's no wonder that Nuvision is NOT my primary bank but SchoolsFirst is. It's no surprise that Nuvision has also been closing branches over the past few years, whereas SchoolsFirst has been opening new branches. I was invited to participate in a focus group hosted by Nuvision FCU a year or so ago and will reach out to that individual with my concerns, seeing how not one of their staff last Saturday showed any. Perhaps that'll be enough to get them to start treating their customers better. read more

Came in here with my dad to take care of our banking needs, everything was going smooth, banker number 1362 was really rude, and disrespectful. While in the process of opening a third account with them, the banker got up went to do something when he came back he had me get up from my seat and said "I need to help the member out" which is weird because I am a member too and the money that goes thru the accounts aren't little, the guy has some nerves because I have not said anything, but you know what doesn't sound like you appreciate my, and my families business, I'm gonna close my accounts with you and find another credit union. I had a terrible experience with one of the employees at this branch. Her name was Ana. I came in for a withdrawal. I asked for $100. She accidently took out $200. I let that slide so I just took the $200. I asked casually for any covid-19 relief program. She was trying to explain some options. She didn't seem very well-informed. Giving me false hope that I'd get approved for a loan they were offering. I left that day with a credit inquiry and a denied loan approval . Every time I go to this branch there always just one person up front. I make payments here every month using my debit card for a car loan. Today I get the "branch manager" and he says I cannot use my debit card. I explain to him this isn't my fist time doing this, and he looks at me like I'm an idiot. And says I can't help you. I am not a customer here but their staff here really helped me get through an awful experience. My mother recently passed away and had an account here. With my loss already it is hard for me to do this but the banker, Michelle, really was efficient and made the process effortless. We were to close the account and obtain a check so easily.The only downside is that this branch is so small so the wait to see someone is a little longer. However the wait is worth it for the quality you get. I also liked the staff's outfits here. The teller was wearing a Hawaiian Nu Vision shirt! With the great experience I had here, I will keep them in mind when I need a car loan or something else in the future. read more

Edit: So the idiots in charge of NuVision decided to charge $6 a month if you don't have a debit card and don't use is 7 times a WEEK! Closed my account and couldn't be happier. US Bank is letting me have an account with NO monthly charges and they're not forcing a debit card down my throat! I encourage everyone to close your accounts and leave NuVision today! Ever since my old credit union merged with Nuvision the place has gone from just plain bad to mind numbingly bad. It used to be just bad because one manager was an utter jerk. Now everything about it is bad. The customer service sucks. The website is horrible - I go to log in and it tells me three times in a row that I have to log in in order to log in! I've told them about this REPEATEDLY and they still have not fixed it. They keep trying to force me to use Turbo Tax which will NEVER happen. Even though I tell them to stop they STILL keep trying to force Turbo Tax down my throat. There is NEVER any envelopes in the ATM no matter what time of day you go - even when the place is open! The ATM is hard to use but they refuse to change it back to the superior one they had before. If it wasn't for the fact I really don't want to have to go in and deal with these idiots in person I'd close my account and go to Wells Fargo. Since they refuse to fix things when confronted with them in person maybe by posting a bad review on Yelp will wake them up to the fact they suck and make them change. Fix the website, stop trying to force Turbo Tax down my throat, make sure the ATM always has lots of envelopes, and change it back to the old kind that keeps your card until YOU choose to log out so I can do more than one transaction at a time. And send your people in for some serious customer service training because they're horrible. I don't even go inside anymore. And no, I don't treat them badly to their faces. Because I know how it feels I try to treat them with respect until they disrespect me. They treat everyone who comes in like an idiot when they're the dumb ones. Honestly, people, you're better off putting your money in jars and burying it in the backyard. At least until Nuvision gets their act together. And I'm NOT the only one who feels this way. I've talked to many other members while waiting at the ATM who feel the same. I can't see any logical explanation for good reviews unless the reviewers are getting some sort of kickback. Update - Well, apparently complaining on Yelp works! So I'm upping it by a star. (Though really it should be a half a star.) See, after months upon months of complaining in various ways, to the tech people, in person at the branch, in notes I'd put through the night deposit box, they FINALLY fixed the log in to the website! No longer does it tell me I have to log in in order to log in! And the last two times they actually had envelopes at the ATM. Now if they'd just get better customer service and replace the crappy ATM to the kind that keeps your card until you choose to log out so you don't have to waste time logging in multiple times for different transactions I might up them to three stars. Edit: Oh, they lost a star again! It took me FOUR TRIES to log in! Again I got error #1518 - telling me I needed to LOG IN in order to LOG IN! ARG! And they're STILL trying to shove Turbo Tax down my throat! KNOCK IT OFF, NUVISION! STOP TRYING TO SHOVE A PROGRAM I DO NOT WANT DOWN MY THROAT AND FIX THE WEBSITE ALREADY! New Edit: So they moved the Costa Mesa branch - close to the freeway entrance! What MORON thought that was a good idea?! You might as well put out a sign that says "Come rob us!" Honestly. You don't put a bank next to a freeway on ramp unless you WANT to be robbed on a weekly basis! I'll tell you another thing - paying your credit card online is a total hassle too. Because you have to wait about two business days before they credit you. But when it was Costa Mesa CU your payment was credited INSTANTLY. Even if you did it at 3 am on a Sunday morning. Nuvision likes to make your life more difficult. I really should switch but closing my accounts means actually going in. And I just don't want to deal with the jerks. read more

I, too, am surprised at the bad reviews on here. My experience with NuVision on Harbor has been nothing but awesome! I was having a hard time finding a great loan for a new car. The other banks I belong to were not offering me anything close to what NV offered me. Not only that, but Judy from AutoLand jumped in and helped even find the car for me. She did everything on my behalf making it headache-free and partnered up with NV to finalize the details. Also, Michelle at NuVision was a pleasure to work with. She managed to change what the loan process typically is "boring" to something simple and fun. Not only did I end up with the car I wanted at an amazing loan rate, but I also qualified for a personal loan to consolidate some debt at a great rate. Unlike Jami, I have never had a logging in problem and not one website issue, except the downtime for service, that's normal, seems like a user error problem :) This branch will be moving soon, up the street closer to the 405. I admit at first this branch needed organization and preparation when I joined in March of last year. The customer service is awesome now! Never a line, they take the time to know you and help you if you take the time to talk to them and let them know whats up. Nuvision is not perfect but they know how to make their customers happy and are very professional in helping you. Tamara is excellent at everything she does, and Tony the Manager is a great guy who cares for his customers and will help you the best he can. I only have a Visa Platinum and Savings account and so my review, is based on that service. read more

Not a 5 Star Experience.......A 20 STAR EXPERIENCE!!!! Came into the branch because my ATM card was not working. As they went to help me they asked a few questions, assessed the situation and had me on my way to a new ATM card :) In the end I am so very happy I came into the branch! First, Every person there greeted me with a genuine smile and a Hearty Hello!! Second....Let them know the reason for my visit and they began to help me. Faiyaz (Fe-oz) was the first to help me and started right away. While there he asked me a few questions and I started to blabb as sometimes us females do. He apparently LISTENED to all that was said and had a few suggestions and information for me. Shared my credit score with him and wanted to know if they offered secured credit cards as I'm at a point where I want to re establish credit. He said yes and that he could set me up with Michelle. Went over to Michelle who was the first person that originally set up my account several months ago. Felt like I was I was with an old close friend!!!:) Explained that I wanted a secured card and she said "Well, lets try to get an un-secured card first and if that does not work we will get you a secured card." I shared my credit score with her, she asked hows & whys my credit is so poor. We put the app in.....waited a few minutes, she personally spoke with the person processing the application and we waited a few more minutes and BOOM BAM BOOM I was approved for a us-secured card!!!! I wanted to cry, tears of happiness of course!!I Applied at Citibank and was turned down for a secured card and I felt it would be Forever before I could start to re establish credit. Felt like someone is going to give me a chance to start over!! SO HAPPY AND FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF THE HELP AND SERVICES THEY HELPED ME WITH. NuVision......YOU have a customer for LIFE!!!!!! They helped me, get a new ATM card, open a checking account, get a direct deposit form, showed me how to log on to online banking and how their site works, set me up with someone that knows How to set your self up to purchase a home, and.......a Credit Card!!!! Thank you, Thank You, Thank you!!!! :* Superb, Awesome Customer Service!! Oh, and Michelle actually hugged me because she knew how much it meant to me!!!
