I had a great experience working with Christian Ramos. I was unsure about which accounts would be the best fit for my needs, but Cristian took the time to explain my options and guided me in the right direction. He provided clear, helpful information and made the entire process easy to understand. He was professional, patient, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. I truly appreciate his excellent customer service and would highly recommend working with him. read more

Citibank - Cristian Ramos - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

Long lines and useless. I don't even know why I bank with Citi anymore. I called to request foreign currency and they told me to go in. Went in, and they told me to call. No one was able to help - they don't seem to be knowledgeable about any processes. read more

Lily and the Citibank crew are always friendly and take care of me. Love this bank. I have had my accounts with them for years.

This branch never heard of the words "customer service". The people in the cubicles could care less about the long delays getting to a teller. The whole culture of this branch is pretty lame. read more

Lily Tiznado opened a Double citi card at the branch with me and assured me it was 0% interest during the introductory promotional rate for 18 months. I went back on June 30th to bring this to her attention, and she then said "what, all our cards are 0 percent on purchases for 18-24 months" as she recalled our conversation. We then called the credit card department together from the branch where she then told the operator on a "monitored and recorded" line that she had messed up and told me it was 0 percent on purchases. The operator then told her that is incorrect and she also mentioned along the lines of "wait so your telling me I have been signing up clients with this card, and stating clearly false info) She didn't realize the promotional rate was only on balance transfers. She then tried to see if the CC department could refund all the interest as I have now been charged hundreds of dollars (5 months in). Not only are they trying to cover all of this up, and admitted to it multiple times. Also, please keep in mind I am a financial advisor and was going bank to bank to look for the best promotional rate. This contract should be void and was clear misrepresentation, but also complete incompetence on her end. She has now caused financial harm over a simple mistake, and Citibank so far has been unwilling to investigate the matter and will not allow me access to any of the notes or recordings from our call together to the operator. It is the worst display of unethical business I have seen. I should not only be owed money, I should have the promotional rate on purchases that the personal banker laid out originally. Lastly, when I went in on the 30th, it was already 5-6 months from the date I opened the card and she STILL HAD NO IDEA it was NOT 0 percent on purchases until we called the operator together. Horrible branch of CITIBANK...manager Marwan, branch manager and LILLY..who is a teller misled me several times regarding my will, and trust, and also a investment. They are definitely commission based crooks, who will tell you anything to get a piece of your hard earned cash, into their pockets. They really have no clue what they are doing. Go to the Fullerton branch, ask for the branch manager, he is honest!! Putting your money under your mattress, is safer way to go instead of trusting these vultures!!! I'm really appalled by this branch. I was looking forward to being a part of something great I was called for an interview and unfortunately, I don't have an open availability to just drop everything and run over at a moments notice. A male over the phone said he would send me an email so I can tell him what time worked for me, I told him I was at work at the moment and I had to get a sitter for my toddler at home once I got that situated, I was able to give him a response. Within the hour i was able to get a sitter, I never received an email, never received a call back, I ended up calling the branch where each of may calls went unanswered, I have left messages with no replies. My number now gets rejected when I call the branch, I feel discriminated. I didn't even get a chance to be a potential candidate. My husband stated something very true; Why would I want to work with a company that treats me like this from the beginning? read more

A friend of mine has banked with Citibank for almost 30 years and recommended I open an account with them. This is a great bank to do business with, and at this location on 17th st in NB they have the friendliest and most helpful tellers. I've been a member of Citibank for more than 20 years if I've ever had a problem they were quick to resolve it. The staff is very friendly in every office I've ever been into and I do go to at least 10 of them on a monthly basis. great bank, probably number one in the top 10. read more

Usually 1-2 tellers on hand. I've had a few interactions with the bankers, the older gentleman was helpful. He taught me how to pay for a credit card statement with a check at the ATMs. Pay at the ATMs to save time when everyone is inside. Two ATMs outside. The parking is hit or miss, they have a small designated parking lot. read more

I had one encounter with this bank this morning. I had to pay a Citibank credit card in cash but that is another story. The local is convenient to a grocery story across the street and eateries abound all around. The bank itself is clean and the staff is well dressed. The teller who helped me was named Aldair. Within the limits of his job he helped me as much as he could. I conducted the transaction I could and was satisfied with his performance. He went above and beyond when I had a runny noise and asked for a tissue and bottle of water. He gave me a clean-ex and a 16 ounce Nestle Pure Life bottle of water. I felt lucky. Even though they were not able to do everything I want that I came to the bank for they did what they could professionally and courteously. read more

I'll spare you the details, but I wound up trying to pay the bill of my new AT&T account by sending a payment to my old AT&T account by mistake. Could they just credit my new account? Could they credit my Citibank checking account (from which I paid online?) Oh, no. They had to cut me a check. This meant that I had to visit my friendly neighborhood Citibank branch. I don't often go to banks anymore. Do you? I remember the good old days, waiting in line forever on Friday evenings with my paycheck in hand. I had started my account with my old bank in second grade. They had this genius marketing promotion in my grade school called "My School Savings" where we could open savings accounts. Why did I stick with that bank for so long? Inertia, I guess. The tellers were really surly. I'll never forget this one guy with a crewcut who was a high school principal. Can you imagine a high school principal moonlighting as a bank teller today? Amazing. This guy once told me that my check was no good. Why, I asked? Because you didn't sign it, he replied. Nice! (I just looked him up online. RIP, sir.) Well, times have certainly changed. The banking industry is probably more competitive today. Also, fewer of us have to visit brick-and-mortar branches on a regular basis. I have to say, I wish my old bank were more like Citibank. I was here on a Wednesday afternoon at about 1 pm. There was maybe one other customer here, so there was no line. My teller was friendly and efficient. She asked me how my day was going and what my weekend plans were. I know that Citibank encourages their employees to do this, but I really felt that she was sincerely being nice. Not like how a server might act at a chain restaurant, but more genuine. How pleasant. My whole interaction took maybe three minutes and it couldn't have gone any better. Now, does this mean that I think that you should open an account with Citibank? Well, I've been with them for about eight years now and I haven't had a problem with them in a long time. Consumersearch does rate them as the best traditional bank for online banking (which is what I mostly use them for). Here's a great website to compare all kinds of banking products: http://www.bankrate.com/ I'd say I'll see you there, but I probably won't. I live closer to another branch. SYOY! read more

If you're not a customer they're complete a-holes, in addition to being incompetent (this branch, not all and ref.to staff and mgr David), and will not take accountability for mistakes, just excuses. Just a continuing series of failures when it comes to customer service. 4 days to execute a wire transfer. Manager never seems to have a reasonable explanation as to why they drop the ball. Citibank senior management must be oblivious to this sub-standard level of performance. Do yourself a favor and avoid this branch. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had. They complicated my request to switch banks, just to keep me under their banking. Went in and met David Richardson and a clerk with last name Kayla Gonzalez. She didn't even smile. She was absolutely inconsiderate and rude with me as if she didn't even want to work there. David yelled across the bank to take back his approval from the clerk he originally gave verbally. I had to sit and wait for him to look at the same form he looked at originally before giving approval. Absolutely unprofessional. Can't wait to be done banking with them for good! Never going back! read more

Interesting, many people have already commented on the same disgusting conduct I just experienced. If you are not a Citibank customer and trying to cash a check written by a Citibank customer, get ready to be harassed by multiple employees. I was told by 3 different employees that for future reference if there was a Citibank customer in the lobby they would help them first and I'd have to wait. THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE THERE. They were angry that I wasn't standing in the designated non client line which had a sign that said next window. The teller seemed new and was asking me several questions I've never had to answer in the past when cashing checks (at this location since they started only cashing checks at certain locations) and I simply said I usually don't have to provide that info. Some banker who was with a customer - Omar- who seems like an angry little man on a weird power trip- rushed over to start yelling at me about their policy, and again to remind me that Citibank customers come first. Yes I get it, can I just get my money please? When they finally so graciously cashed my check I said to the teller, look I'm sorry that you guys don't want to help non clients but your company designated this branch as a location to cash checks for non clients. So there's no reason to harass someone that comes in trying to utilize the services your company made available at this location. These people are awful. Omar was giving me the stink eye the whole time and acted like I was some piece of trash that wandered into his bank. I asked the teller for the regional managers info and of course Omar couldn't just let the poor guy answer a question, had to get up (and leave the person he was helping for the 3rd time) and gave me the branch managers card. when I said no the regional manager he refused and just gave me another dirty look. It's just so unnecessary. Just cash the check, the person who wrote it has an account with you, why the need for the horrible condescending attitude? Also wouldn't you want to be nice to someone that's not a current client to get them to sign up with you? Instead they want to make sure to drive away any potential new business. Good job guys read more

Candice .. again with your tantrum. Why do you keep going back ? Obviously they are competent in doing their job if you keep going back .. why not take it to higher management if you feel that strongly about their policy ?? Why bash on the employees ?? I only say all this because this particular branch has been wonderful.. and treats everyone with kindness.. it seems like if any customer (whether they bank at Citibank or not) doesn't get their way ... they are so quick to jump on and bash them .. Hopefully you stand in the "non customer" line a bit longer .. read more

People are nice, but the Citibank way of doing things stinks! I have an IRA account from years ago when it was California Federal. Local branches can no longer handle IRA accounts and paperwork must be faxed to their office in San Antonio, which the banker at this branch assured me he would do... but he didn't. I called the next day to check and the teller said he would handle it as soon as he finished with a customer, but ... he didn't. I called Citibank in Sana Antonio and they never received the paperwork. read more

I'll start by saying that it's not necessarily this branches fault but by default they are the local branch chosen to cash checks. I also understand that banks have to make their money. But what I don't understand is how poorly they treat the people who try to cash a check written by one of their banking customers. I'm an independent contractor who gets paid from a Citibank customer and when I try to cash that check at a Citibank branch I'm treated as a second class citizen. Because I don't have an account with Citibank I am made to stand in a separate line and wait for everyone else to be served before I'm attended to. TALK ABOUT DISCRIMINATION! Why would anyone want to bank with a company who didn't treat every person with the same respect whether they had an account or not. This is very unethical and demeaning. I would never bank with Citibank, they lack the moral character of a business in the service industry. HORRIBLE! read more

I went in yesterday to this bank because they were the only ones in the area that could cash a Citibank check since I didn't have an account with Citibank. I walked in the front door the manager met me and said what can I do for you sir. I told him that I was not an account holder there but wanted to cash one of their checks here. He said I would have to wait in the line that was for non-customers and that it would be about 20 to 25 minutes until they got done with all their customers before they could help me. Then he asked if I wanted to be a customer. I looked at him since I got such a warm and fuzzy feeling from him and walked out the door and said don't worry about it . He followed me out the door and it reminded me that I could only cash that check here because they were the only bank in the area that could cash non-account holders checks. I asked him for such a warm and fuzzy feeling he gave me why I would even want to be a customer there. I told him don't worry I'll never be back. Why would a non-customer ever want to be a customer when you're treated like that. read more

I'll relay my experience from just one visit (my final visit). Friday at 4:30pm. 1) No manager on duty 2) One teller window open 3) Two additional tellers in back (1 male & 1 female) doing who knows what for at least the 40 minutes until after the branch was closed. But definitely not out helping the backlog of customers. 4) A line of about 4-5 people (20 minutes) waiting for the one teller. 5) A customer having the door slammed closed as he was walking up to the branch who was apparently leaving for Europe that evening turned away by the lazy guy in charge (says he isn't a manager though). 6) One personal/mortgage banker wearing jeans and white super high cushioned running shoes sitting at his desk doing nothing other than arguing with me for 5 minutes how great their customer service is. (His proof is pointing to a plaque on the wall given to him by, you guessed it...Citibank). btw He says it's a dumb idea to have personal bankers cross trained to be able to help with the teller line, when he's doing absolutely nothing, silly me. So I hadn't set foot in a Citibank branch in about 10 weeks. I needed to deposit some rolled coin. While in line, I was told by some guy that the vault teller that accepts coin deposits is in back. I said that's fine I really need to make the deposit today so I'll wait to talk to the normal teller (was going to tell her to sell my deposit to the vault teller later). The line is about 15 minutes long. I finally get to the one teller window and talk to the teller. She tells me that she can't take coin deposits. Having worked in a branch in college, I know that it's a simple task that the teller can take the coin from the customer and later sell that to the vault or coin teller. No problem, we did it all the time. She tells me she can't do that but I can talk to the vault teller who has been in back "in dual custody". Meaning they're counting ATM cash. Of course this means they don't care about their current customers standing in line because they could have waited until the branch was closed to do that. So a guy who has been doing absolutely nothing this whole time other than walk around is nearby and I demand to speak to the manager. I am informed there's no manager working today. I was shocked. So I said let me speak to whomever's in charge. The guy says that would be the lady who's in back. I said fine I'll wait. So while I'm waiting, I'm sitting in the lobby and I observe the guy getting the door slammed in his face as he's walking up to the door. He informs the lazy guy he will be closing both his accounts. The guy shrugs. I jokingly say "Citibank customer service at it's finest" at which point the personal banker in the high soled running shoes and jeans hears me and proceeds to start an argument with me about how great their customer service is. (There's 5 people in line for the one teller at this point). Finally 10 minutes after the branch is closed the lady that supposedly is in charge comes out. Of course, she couldn't just come over to the window where I'm sitting or better yet come out from behind the glass wall and talk to me. Nope, she makes me walk all the way to her window at the other end of the branch. I inform her I need to deposit some rolled coin. She says oh sorry I'm closed. At which point I ask why I had to wait 40 minutes to be told you closed up shop early. I then said fine well take the coin from me, put it in the vault and process it in the morning. Of course she refuses. She tells me that the other teller can take an undisclosed amount of coin from me. Rather than tell me how much I have to guess at $100 multiples. She admitted she had room for all my coin and could have sold to the vault in the morning but her limit was 10 rolls of coin. I then asked why not get the person in charge to sign off on a higher amount, that's how all normal branches work and she said that's not how her limits work. At this point the lazy guy who said the female teller was in charge admits that he's actually in charge of the branch. So he lied to me earlier to avoid having to discuss my situation. I said fine, take my 10 rolls of coin deposit them and then close my account. I kid you not, the teller is too lazy to walk 5 feet over to the coin window. She's hooting and hollering about how can you bring the rolls over to her window and I said no, don't be lazy. They're in the coin window, go get them. The coin window is literally 5 feet away. She sighs and finally walks over to grab the coin rolls. So I had also had a $9 check that was from a well-known national business and she informs me there's going to be a hold for the check. I have never bounced a check or had an overdraft on this 3 year old account. I said forget it, give me the check back. She takes about 10 minutes to do a simple cash deposit and then cash out my account and close it. I was given the regional mgr's # but she must work the same 6 hour days the branch does. Left a message but no callback. read more
