I decided to try this place as i have lived in the building for over 40 years. I came in for eyebrow lamination and then had my eyebrows dyed. The lamination was $75.00 as indicated in their brochure. I was then charged an additional $25.00 for have my eyebrows dyed...Terrific... no problem. I then returned to have my lashes dyed two days later. To my shock and total disappointment, the technician only did my upper lash line and then tried to charge me $110.00!! When I asked the technician why she didn't do the lower lashes, she was told to only do the upper lash line!! Seriously??????? In all my many years, I have never heard such nonsense. I'm sorry but this is not a "Upper Side Spa" as the owner told me and therefore felt $110.00 was appropriate.....I have been going to an actual "Upper East Side" Beauty Spa on Park Avenue and for a very long time have only paid $60 for dyeing both my eyebrows and eyelashes...INCLUDING THE LOWER LASH LINE!!! Had an appointment. called up to confirm . I was asked if I can arrive one hour earlier . I agreed . Arrived one hour earlier .no one there ... closed . Paid for parking . No one cared to call to cancel. If they treat you like that out the door . Imagine how you will be treated in the door . I would go somewhere else . Also if you pay attention to her positive google reviews . They all have similar ethnic names as hers . which means its family or friends leaving a review . The one real review she conveniently discounts by saying she never had a customer by that name . Buyer beware. This is not a professional business . You don't want your face to be trusted to amateurs, that just want your monies. And if you have a problem she might come back and ask for a receipt to prove you were really there ....... The people that work in the building where this office is, also said they receive a lot of complaints. And if u ever go there . She might also start sending u 21 million messages . She clearly needs to be blocked . And if she continues she needs to be reported to the authorities. I mean who threatens over an electronic device with their real phone number. My experience at this place was not very pleasant. I went there for facial and a Microneedling treatment. It was a nightmare because none of them were done right. Very sloppy facial, left with a lot of impurities which was covered with Microneedling afterwards. Microneedling was done so bad that I felt I was literally bleeding from my skin. I couldn't go out for many days and so scared. I called the place to ask for help and they only responded when I requested my money back. They have no idea about what each skin needs. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. 2 weeks ago I called up and they said they would honor the groupon price if I bought it through them for 6 sessions for 199$ the woman said it was noted on their system and I proceeded to make an appt online. I screenshot the groupon price for my record. I walked 1 hour to this place to find out they allowed groupon to put the wrong quantity of sessions and would no longer honor their word over the phone. The tech would not call the owner for me to speak to, and said that they would not honor the price and did not care about me as a customer. Anushka Imran is the least professional person I have met in the Spa business. Initially, I purchased by mistake two Groupon sessions for a same laser hair removal area at two different prices, cheaper and higher. when I activated my Groupon voucher, Anushka, tried unsuccessfully to convince me to return the two vouchers to Groupon, offering instead, the same deals, if I would have immediately re-purchased them from her. I found her practice unethical. After I declined her offer, and after I specifically asked her to activate only my cheaper voucher, she instead activated the more expensive one, by depriving me of of my bargain to her benefit. To date, I only used 2/3 sessions and I do not intend to use my last one. Primarily, her Candela Laser Removal machines are, in my opinion, old generation. At least on me they did not work at all. Finally, when I had to use my last session, I had to cancel it within less than 24 hours due to Covid exposure and present symptoms. Upon the surging of the symptoms, I immediately and cautiously notified Nush Skincare of my condition. In stead of appreciating my safety disclosure, Nush Skincare penalized me by trying to charge a $50 cancellation fee. After I complaint about my condition and after notifying Nush Skincare of my intention to truthfully review their services, Nush Skincare offered to waive the $50 cancellation fee. I respectfully denied their offer, and I conveyed my frustrations. Today, I am truthfully reviewing the spa services received to make sure potential customers would not feel the way I felt. I never posted a review before but I feel that my horrifying microneedling session at NushSkincare warrants a detailed review of my experience to prevent this from happening to other victims. Especially if you're a person of color like me. I've had microneedling done several times in the past (at a different place of course) & always had great results so I'm not new to this procedure. I decided to give NushSkincare a try & purchased a groupon for 3 microneedling sessions. I went in for my first session in October 2021 & a few days later I noticed intense scabs & bruises appearing on both sides of my face. Normally my face would just be red for a few days & flake a little. Never before had I seen this type of reaction so I was definitely panicking. A few more days pass by and the bruising intensified. At this point, I knew the procedure went wrong. I immediately contacted the business and scheduled a consultation 2 weeks after my procedure to show the esthetician what happened. I explained to her that my past microneedling experiences never resulted in this. She couldn't tell me what went wrong, only that "we never know how the skin is going to react. Microneedling can go right 5 or 6 times, then go wrong the 7th time." This is an odd statement to make since if that's the case, then no one should be getting this procedure done at all. Note that I also went to a local skincare place near my home to get a 2nd opinion. They indicated that the esthetician must have gone over the same areas aggressively too many times and that this never should have happened if done professionally. NushSkincare assured me that this isn't permanent damage and that treatments would be done to get my skin back to "normal." I already live 2 hours away from the City so having to go back & forth multiple times was a huge inconvenience. That's how desperate I was for a solution as you can't imagine how embarrassing it was to see my bruised face every single day in the mirror. I avoided seeing friends for a couple of months because even makeup couldn't cover it up properly. Thankfully I can hide my face at work with a mask during COVID. Over 4 months, I came in for FIVE treatments (each spread out by 2-3 weeks): Treatment 1: microdermabrasion Treatment 2: lightening peel Treatment 3: dermaplaning + lightening peel Treatment 4: microdermabrasion + lightening peel Treatment 5: microdermabrasion While the treatments helped to lighten a significant amount of bruising, I noticed the combination of lightening peel with the dermaplaning/microdermabrasion caused my skin to react with similar scabbing to my first microneedling session. I let the dead skin fall off naturally but it has left another bruise on my cheek! I was originally told during Treatment #2 that the lightening peel is a gentle chemical peel & would only cause minor flaking. I pointed this out to the esthetician which is why we opted for just the microdermabrasion only at my last treatment. I was scheduled for Treatment #6 but didn't see much improvement after Treatments #4 and #5 so I decided to just stop coming here. Groupon was kind enough to refund me. I also texted the Owner, Anushka, in March 2022 and let her know about the trauma I went through and that I am still left with visible grey bruising (mostly on the sides of my face). I asked for a refund to my card for the hidden groupon tax they originally collected back in October. No response from her so I had to follow-up a few again to which she texts "our esthetician believe this was not caused by our services. If you need to get this refund, you can stop by this week for cash." Not sure what she's talking about since I've literally only been coming here back and forth for months, in which treatment #3 was performed by her (lol?). What bothers me is that she never once apologized which shows Anushka's character. I finally received my money back as it's unethical to keep a single penny. This was my first time getting laser on my arms and was kinda nervous about it all but the owner was so nice and easy to talk to that the whole process went by so quick I didn't even notice it was over when it was. I was scared to get micro-needling but she reassured me that it wouldn't hurt and it didn't. They apply a numbing cream before the treatment and Im glad i did it. My skin looks radiant and even. I found this business on Groupon while I was looking for a masseuse. I called to see if they could take a same day appointment and they were very accommodating. I didn't purchase the Groupon because I wasn't sure if I would be able to get a same day appointment. The owner advised not to purchase the Groupon and she would honor the price.
