Whether you're a full-time, part-time or sometime veggiesaurus, the Veggie Patch Diner will please…read moreall plant-based leanings. It isn't entirely 'super food' or 'raw food' but more accurately; 'comfort food' on the vegetarian dining spectrum. Inside its a humble diner-style place with light wood furnishings and a sunny courtyard out the back. Most of the food is on display at the front and ready-to-assemble if you're in a rush. Like burgers? Well, you'll be spoilt for choice here if you're a vego. There are about 5 different kinds; like zucchini and feta, cajun spiced tofu or chipotle smoked mushroom. Personally, I cant go past the mixed plate. A rainbow of whatever the daily salads, edame falafel, changing dips - oh dips! - house made pickles and pita bread. It will fill you up good. Healthy, hearty, homely food.

Having tried the Veggie Patch Van twice, i decided to make the trek over the bridge to Paddington…read moreto visit the home of the van, the Veggie Patch Diner. And I'm so glad I did! The burgers are incredibly tasty for vegetarian food. I had the olive and almond burger. The mix of the beetroot relish, mayo, tomato relish were flavoursome, just like a great burger, and they were oozing out of the burger. The sweet potato chips with basil mayo are the bomb!!! I ordered them everytime I see the truck and here at the diner, I was presented with a bigger serving. They are my favourite chips in Sydney. Service is so-so, the food came out fast. You order at the counter and water is self-service. Decor is like that of a cute trendy cafe but nothing special. Food is the highlight here. Hours after lunch, I'm still salivating over the burgers and sweet potato chips. Cannot wait to return.

This place has been around a long time and since both my wife and I have loads of vegetarian food,…read moredecided to check it out. Loved every bit of what's on offer here. You can have a two or three course set menu or a la Carte. Unpretentious, reasonably priced and excellent flavors. I had the vegetable curry as main and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The pudding is probably the best I have had in Sydeny ever, gingery, moist and spongy, just divine. My veg curry was also delicious, hearty and a bit spicy. Great service and good value for money. Absolutely will come here again for a lovely meal with friends. Located on a quiet street in Balmain it is a must try.

Let me just start with....... wow…read more I frequently dine around Sydney and find that people have already written reviews that are so perfect there is no need for me to write the same thing once again. However based on my 5 star experience I had to share. I had a friend in town from America who is vegan and we wanted to take her out for dinner. Trying to find something in the inner west that was not Thai or Chinese was near impossible. Then I stumbled across Harvest. I read a few previous reviews and saw an urbanspoon rating of 84% and thought to give it a go. As we approached the restaurant in a quiet street in Rozelle we remembered we forgot our wine as the restaurant is BYO. We walk in the door and are happy to learn Harvest is also fully licensed :) Adam, the owner/chef (yes because we actually met and talked to the owner) was absolutely delightful. We learnt that Adam has been at harvest for 17 years and his passion clearly shows. He even has his own cook book which can be purchased from the restaurant. We of course made a purchase and will attempt to make some of the wonderful meals!! I only hope we can do it justice! eeek! There were 5 of us at dinner (only 1 vegan/vegetarian) and EVERYONE was satisfied. Meat was not missed by us carnivores. We dined on tapas with AMAZING fresh made dips, rice paper rolls, feta parcels for our entree and savoury mushroom pancake stack, lasagna with mozzarella, spinach and kumara gnocchi for our spectacular main and 1 of the boys was even able to squeeze in sticky date pudding for dessert. The wine was flowing and the experience was perfect. All up our bill came to about $250 and included 4 bottles of wine! And we were all soooooo full! The atmosphere of this restaurant reminds me of a place called Jacques-Imo's Café in New Orleans (one of my all-time favourite restaurants). Its open, fresh, quaint and if you're lucky enough you may even catch a glimpse of the beautiful Paris who lives nearby!! Can't tell you anymore. Guess you will have to try it for yourself! Who thought vegetables could be so fun?!
