Awful first experience! Walked in, got into line and was right next to an ipad that displayed 5% off when you sign up for rewards. Guy at the front desk was tending to someone else, so I started to fill out the form. Next thing I know this guy is snapping at me to get off the ipad because I'm not there for medical reasons. Nothing on the form led me to believe it's not intended for recreational purposes, so it felt pretty aggressive. Even the customer he was assisting turned and apologized to me quietly for what happened cause it was so uncalled for. Honestly, I was excited to check this place out and if he didn't come at me the way he did, I would've definitely stayed but I had to leave after that. The very worst. The employees are quite surly, unmotivated and unprofessional even on a good day, but the final straw for me was when I sat in line for 30 minutes with a pre-order window that was about to expire after how long they left me waiting, and the overwhelmingly rude employee who loafed up to the counter gave me two options after finally arriving to the register: leave, or shut up about my bad experience. No apologies, no kindness whatsoever from him. He even threatened me with physical violence and intimidating body language, all in full view of his manager who was indifferent to it all. I think someone forgot he's not in the illicit drug trade anymore. Never do business with these people. Far better options exist mere blocks away - just google it. NuEra deserves to fail. read more

Before today I would have given this location a 5 stars. I recently got my medical card (thru an email from them!) and last time I went to use it for the first time at this location. The staff was informative, friendly, and even gave me a discount card for future purposes over $100! Well I went today for my second ever medicinal purchase and that's the reason for the lower stars.. the front desk person was friendly and sweet but when it came time to speak with the second member to pick up my order the gentleman was cold and rude. He claimed I wasn't registered as a medicinal user and I told him I was (he had already checked my provisional letter) and for further proof I showed him the medicinal discount card from my last visit. His answer? "I don't care about that" in the rudest tone. After he handed me my items I put them in my bag and he printed the receipt and just kind of stood there and then asked where the product was. I said it was in my bag and he said he needed it again to "do his job".. he was the one who handed me the product! I'm hoping next time I go I'm treated with a little more respect. read more

The product selection is good but the staff can be rude and dismissive. My biggest gripe? The phone line never works, nobody ever answers and it just sends you to a voicemail that nobody will ever respond to. In two years I've called 10+ times and have never been answered or replied too. When I bring this up with the front desk they just call me a liar instead of addressing the issue. As a medical patient I cannot be at a dispensary that doesn't even answer the phone. I recently purchased a faulty disposable vape pen. NuMed was extremely unhelpful. A friend of mine is a patient at MoCa, and she had a similar issue with a faulty product. MoCa was extremely helpful and responsible - the complete opposite of my experience at NuMed. As with most dispensaries in IL, the product selection is limited, prices are high, and lines are long. This is a small space, and they use this excuse to not have a separate line for medical patients. On days when I have had limited time and did not want to stand behind many recreational users to wait for my order, I have had to speak up and have been treated as though I were acting obnoxiously. When I reminded my cashier that it is embarrassing to have to ask to cut others in line, and could he remember to check for medical patients next time, he told me not to come on Saturdays because it's busy. Yes, that's why I asked you to call medical patients first, because it's busy. I have politely expressed my concerns every time this has happened, four separate incidents now. In no way has the situation changed. I would avoid this one if you are a med patient and it's not convenient for you for some reason. read more

Arguably the best dispensary in the Chicago-land area. The prices are more than fair and are usually cheaper than most other dispensaries. It seems as if Numed is the only establishment that is actually FOR the patients and not trying to squeeze every penny out of there patrons. I used to pay $10-20 more for some of the select name brand products I wanted (Revolution, Gold Leaf, Cresco (carts)) at my other dispensary but after doing some research I found this place to be the hidden gem. More often than not there is a sale going on from weeks prior you can take advantage of and you even get something for your birthday. 'Exclusive Sales' which were offered at my other dispensary is what I pay RETAIL for here. There is even the possibility that it can go on sale later so you can get it EVEN cheaper. I planned to test out other dispensaries but after seeing the prices and getting comfortable with the staff it was an easy choice to stay. Part of the reason I think this dispensary is low key is because of the hours they are open but I do not mind as it suits me just fine. Parking could be improved but this is Chicago so who can really complain? The staff is knowledgeable when it comes to the products and are willing to ask someone if they are unsure of something. Special shout out to Tammy, Dan, Jen and who provide excellent recommendations and provide stellar costumer service. read more

Customer focused experience. Been going to this dispensary for a couple years minus a brief hiatus when they were closed for repairs. I came right back as soon as I could because I missed the experience here. Take COVID seriously, hand sanitizer, plexiglass, and masks. Nice rewards program and selection. Very friendly staff. Went in on 4/20 to get some good deals, placed an order online and got a email and text that it's been placed, coming in to check in and scan my ID, whoever that OLD MAN is who is in front of the door SHOULD NOT BE THERE! he doesn't know what he's doing, he was getting upset that my order was not there, I kept explaining why it was declined and if I'm getting charged, he didn't answer ANY of those questions but kept saying about he's not working for the STATE OF ILLINOIS (like I care) and didn't want to explain why my order was declined on JANE which is a program NUERA use to place orders but this GUY kept saying "that doesn't involve us, it's A THIRD PARTY" so it shows he didn't know what he was talking about, while getting up and raising up his voice at me! He doesn't communicate very well and all he does is complain since he came back to talk to one of the security saying " these people got no other better thing to do but SMOKE" I don't like to have those negative people around and to see that in this types of places really changes my perspective. I loved this place and the people were sweet when we went in, BETH was such a sweetheart and answered all my questions and she KNEW WHAT SHE WAS DOING!! Please don't hire these older folks who just wanna get all rowdy on a GOOD DAY that is 4/20. I won't be coming in if that old man is still there. Love this place. I am hard of hearing and have struggled at other dispensary with overwhelming noise. This place is small and quiet. And the staff is happy to talk stains and effects without a hint of annoyance. Not to mention they produce and carry Blue Dream and LSD which are two of my all time favs. read more

When I finally got to the guy with the iPad they were telling people to expect a text back in about an hour. I waited for four hours and still haven't got a text message from NuMed. I purchased 2 disposable pens for recreational use. One worked, the other didn't. I contacted the store via email, explained that one was defectice and still full with product. They replied saying they "unfortunately" don't allow exchanges, returns, or refunds. Considering the price ($42+), the fact that there was no "buy battery operated devices at your own risk", the pen is glued shut, and that I wasn't even met with a middle ground of a partial refund, partial exchange, or anything of the like, having waited in line in the cold for ages to get in, I'm pretty disappointed with this place. read more

Well priced among the Chicago dispensaries and all the staff are super nice. The waiting room is cute (water is a nice touch!), and I love that it's dog friendly (I assume it is? I made a online order recently and was denied from buying anything because I don't have a Illinois state ID or a current utility bill because myself and girlfriend have recently just been relocated to the area due to the military. I offered to show them my work pay stub and w4 for work and they still couldn't sell me anything. The store itself was good and the online ordering process went smoothly. My issue is I bought a set of defective edibles and was not offered anything when I brought it to the store's attention. I purchased Sweet Releaf Sour Watermelon Gems which are advertised as having 10mg/gummy with ten gummies (be warned if you are buying this brand - I would avoid). The edibles were defective. The THC content in them was inconsistent. Three of the ten were effective but the rest did not have THC in them at all. I am from California and have bought edibles from many dispensaries in CA and have never had this happen - it isn't a case of me "not feeling them" because three of the ten did indeed work, but with a 30% success rate, this is a faulty product. If you are advertising 10mg/gummy, you have to deliver a product that meets that mark. At every store I have worked at, if you sell a defective product, you offer a refund or an exchange. I do not know if dispensaries are less stringent with their products in Illinois than in California but I would be wary of getting anything here - I have never had this happen with edibles from other dispensaries and was offered nothing when I brought it to their attention. Because of this, I would suggest going to one of the other (many) dispensaries in the area (from which I have never encountered any defective products) read more

After waiting two hours, I bought a verano cartridge only to open the container at home and see that it's empty. I spend $85 for an empty cartridge container. I have been to dispensaries not only in Illinois but all over the country. Outside of never having any product for recreational patients customer service at this dispensary is horrid. Main line DOES not work if you call. I recently bought a disposable pen in this dispensary. PRODUCT NEVER worked from the minute i bought it. Reached out to them numerous times via phone calls and no responses. Finally got a response back on their instagram page saying they cannot refund the product even though I had a receipt. So if you want to RISK buying something that might not work come to Numed. With a 50/50 chance of them responding. All carts were lab tested back in October. Faulty products that don't work. I recommend going to dispensary 33. At least they have a great customer service. I will recommend to all people to not go here due to how they approached this. ive never been to a place where if you buy something and it doesn't work you dont get a refund or discount on product.
