I was three stops away on the bus when my phone alerted me that nuEra was closing soon. My guests and I were in shock. We were so close to the business. I called and was connected to someone at the store. I stated I had traveled far to come and get medical marijuana, I knew what I wanted and could pay over the phone that I would be there within the next two minutes max. The person on the other end of the line asks if they can do that and I hear people yelling NO! And conversations. He comes back to say no, because they closed their registers earlier than the listed time of closing. All registers were fully broken down by 3:30 pm. They were listed as closing at 8pm when I spent over an hour traveling there. I was in the weather they were closing over. This is Chicago. It snows in Chicago. It's upsetting that they would treat a disabled person with a medical condition this way. It's apparent they don't want my business. read more

I have gone to NuEra Chicago for about a year now for medical reasons. recently I had to renew my med card and needed help. I started this process a month before my expiration. I had an hour appointment to get this taken care of and was told it was all taken care of and I was set. I continued to receive 'correct errors' notifi from the state. I then set up appointments that were no shows on their part and I was never notified after traveling to the store. My next appointment I was told my card was canc and I'd have to start again! So much anxiety, not to mention pain...couldn't even get anything to help with it. Be careful and triple verify! read more

Zero Stars. BTW- this is the only negative review I have ever left for a business, on any platform. This business is garbage. I had checked their website for a specific smoking device and it showed it was in stock. I drove an hour in traffic to go to this dump. I show up to the store and they didn't have it. It was an inventory mistake on their part. I asked if they would work with me because it was their mistake. They would not offer me anything other than 25% off the store (which it was already that day). I was basically told in an arrogant manner that there wasn't anything they could do for me. Avoid this store if you aren't affluent. The vibe inside sucked anyway. Go to Market 96 in the South Loop or Be in Blue Island instead. read more

Avoid. They remove items from your cart at their discretion, so you never actually know what you're going to pick up. I just wasted two hours making a trip only to be told "Sorry, I can't give you the product that you ordered and paid for from our website. How about this inferior product instead?" Never again. I recently had my first experience at NuEra Dispensary, and unfortunately, it was my worst dispensary experience to date. As a medical user with an Illinois card, I have visited dispensaries in various states, including California, Colorado, and Nevada, but my visit to NuEra left much to be desired. Upon arriving and in the middle of placing a pick-up order, I was approached by a rude older black man who appeared to be security. Despite explaining to him that I was a medical patient and had already checked in with another staff member, he hounded me about being in the medical lot which was empty except for me. This encounter was incredibly uncomfortable and off-putting, especially as I was in the midst of trying to place my order while in pain. While other staff members were generally fine and performed their duties with an adequate level of customer service, this negative interaction overshadowed the rest of my experience at NuEra as well as the wait time for someone to come out initially. As a first time customer, I expect to be treated with respect and understanding, and unfortunately, that was not the case during my visit. Overall, I was deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism and empathy exhibited by the security staff person at NuEra Dispensary. I hope that they take steps to address these issues and improve the experience for all patients in the future. They have a great medical selection. read more

I've been coming to new area for quite some time now and I used to love it. Everybody that worked. There was so pleasant and nice and helpful. A lot of of those people are gone and some have been replaced with some really nice people however, there are a few people there that really need to try to be a little bit nicer and have better customer service skills when you walk in and say hello and you don't get a response. It's very rude and when you say goodbye and you don't get a goodbye is very rude and when you put a tip in somebody's jar and you don't get it thank you that's about the rudest. I almost took it back, but I'm not that type of person. I limit my visits to new era now and I used to be there a couple of times a week very disappointed in the way things are now and really disappointed with the poor customer service. Just wanted to throw that out there please and thank you our words that should be used very often, especially in the customer service industry. I haven't been to a legal dispensary anywhere that isn't at least very good in terms of quality, customer service, price, and accuracy. If you think about it, this is a pretty good argument in favor of government regulation. Imagine how much better hospital healthcare might be if they faced the same sort of regulation (410 ILCS 705/ Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act). Imagine how much better hospital stays might be if they had dispensaries. I don't go often enough to have lost the Boomer thrill of doing something that seems deliciously illegal and getting away with it. This part of the adventure was killed for me when a couple of i-Gen couples came in and casually ordered something after friendly discussion for the walk over to a restaurant. Just like I used to when stopping by a wine store with friends on our way to a BYOB restaurant. The workers from security to ID check to sales are all the right combination of polite, friendly, and competent. The best thing about this dispensary is location, it is right off I94, northside, easy public transportation from downtown. There is car parking around the corner, but you wouldn't be able to get a big truck or bus nearby. If you are driving a big truck or bus, I'm not sure I would want you to be buying ganja anyway, but you would be better off at one of the North or Northwest suburbs closer to the border with Wisconsin (biggest parking lots and access streets). read more
