I understand things happen, but I waited two days and reached back out and contacted them again having no idea what might be going on, but I had an issue that I still needed their help with. They again said vaguely that they couldn't do it this week and again promised to follow up. They never apologized for not calling back like they said. Again, a couple days go by and still nothing. No contact, no information beyond that. I don't know what was going on, but no communication, no call backs- and I'm a family guy so family is important, but when I'm trying to book you for a business perhaps communicate better if you promise to do so. Needless to say after ghosting me and lack of communication, I posted a review elsewhere on social media and the owner had the gall to post my 1-star review and called me out- I had patience and waited many days- the business owner didn't respond, ghosted me, then blasted me on social. After many people came to my defense, they deleted the post. Wow, what a bunch of drama! I will forever avoid the Salts- I found out the owner has several race cars- no wonder his estimates always came in high. I'll find someone else in the future and suggest that you not do business with these people or they will post your honest review on their social media and try to convince people that YOU are the problem. Not ever a business I'd take a risk on again.

What really impressed me is that I was able to talk with the owner several times and he wanted to make sure that we were satisfied with their work. Thanks to Robert and his team. I recently needed an emergency plumbing repair at my rental property in Johnson City, TN. The…read moredrywall was already opened, and the problem was an accessible copper pipe with a pinhole leak. Roto-Rooter initially quoted me $800, then generously offered what felt like an insulting "discount" that brought the price down to $672. The technician completed the repair, took pictures, and prepared the invoice in approximately 50 minutes. Let that sink in. $672 for less than an hour on-site, including paperwork. Afterward, I spoke with other local plumbing contractors who indicated that a comparable repair would typically cost approximately $300-$350. Unfortunately, those contractors weren't available when I needed immediate assistance. I understand that emergency service comes at a premium. I have a background in the electrical construction industry, so I'm familiar with labor rates, overhead, materials, and what it takes to operate a contracting business. However, there's a difference between charging a reasonable premium for emergency service and pricing that feels excessive for the work performed. To make matters worse, this was the same technician I previously paid $189 to address a drain issue that was never fully resolved. Between these two visits, I've spent $861 and am left deeply dissatisfied with the value received. My advice to anyone considering Roto-Rooter: LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE. Unless your house is actively flooding and you cannot safely contain the situation, take the time to call multiple local plumbers before agreeing to their pricing. I sincerely regret not doing so. While the technician successfully repaired the pipe, I cannot recommend Roto-Rooter based on my experience. Prompt service is valuable, but it does not automatically justify any price a company chooses to charge. To Roto-Rooter management: You're welcome to contact me directly to discuss these charges and whether a reasonable price adjustment is warranted. I'd appreciate an opportunity to resolve my dissatisfaction. Until then, I'll be sharing my experience so other homeowners and landlords can make informed decisions before spending their hard-earned money. One expensive lesson learned. I will not be using Roto-Rooter again.

I failed to do my due diligence though by not receiving at least three estimates as is recommended. I can not imagine how much these tanks run since the invoice does not give any details on parts and labor. **Update** Steve Huff Plumbing reached out to me wanting a mutual satisfactory agreement and in doing so they showed that they do care and will make a sincere effort in making their customers happy. I have amended the star rating to reflect that sentiment.

I called them because of their commercials painting the picture of them being an honest,…read morerespectable family company. I had a burst water pipe and my two toddlers were without water. I told them my situation and they said I'd have to wait 2 days for them to come and "estimate" the final cost and it would cost $60 just for the estimate. Anyone who has kids knows you can't go two days without water. I reiterated the seriousness of my situation and the lady on the phone treated me with callous disregard and reiterated that they WOULD need cash up front, but offer financing IF I qualify. This was unacceptable to me. I grabbed a shovel, went outside and started digging. I found the problem myself. It was a broken coupling at the meter. I took the coupling to Lowe's and they showed me the exact parts I needed. The final cost was $58 (including candy for my babies) and several hours of digging. I had it fixed that very evening. I feel sorry for the people who absolutely need to depend on this company. The city of Kingsport confirmed no leaks and turned my water back on before bath time. I feel like I did the right thing. The pictures I posted are MY work, not theirs.
